Hey I run Miui as my main ROM but wanted to try Cm7. After I decided to go back to miui I did a full wipe and restored my backup. Still loaded is the cm7 kernel which I think is messing up and slowing down my system tons. Any advice
Sent from my ROOTED Incredible 2.
Tiamat Kernals have been working well for me with Miui. Currently using the 1.1.1 version.
Wrong section but I believe MIUI uses the CM kernel but any AOSP kernel should work.

Has anyone else noticed that certain roms on rom manager wont show?
ezample, I click on the download rom, then click on Fresh-its says error processing rom list,,, i tried damagecontrol and bugless beast and it is just blank???
I always liked rom manager on my droid incredible but on the my new evo4g it seems buggy with roms. has me thinking about using another method, any suggestions that wont give problems and are as easy to use?
thanks
I've had that same problem. I did a reboot, uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared data, but still nothing.
I'm running CM6.

could be the DEV removed the rom ?
+1 .
ROM manager is broken. I even flashed from CM6 to Fresh's latest and the same issue.

yeah its messed up, any know any good alternatives? rom manager is easy to use but no good right now and dont want to have problems when flashing new roms
Hopefully the dev didn't abandon it. I have the paid version.

I believe the dev has a certain way the mirrors, etc for each ROM has to be posted so it can be parsed by ROM Manager. I'm not sure if the devs are doing this.
I also paid for the full app and some do work and update (like CM6 nightlies and fresh) - so it makes me think the devs aren't posting their roms to his server..
There was a post about how to add it around the dev forum somewhere
Since I'm a noob I can't post in the dev section where it would be more appropriate so I'm hoping somebody will chime in here and help with what I hope a simple question. I rooted my phone and loaded Newt's 3D v2.0.2 as my first Rom, now I see that he has updated to v2.0.3. Do I have to do all the wiping or can I just install the new Rom since it's essentially the same base?
Thanks
Since its a newer base I would just go ahead and do a full wipe to be safe. At the very least I would wipe cache and dalvik.
Full wipe. A bit of a pain, but worth the trouble

You should always do full wipes....But Newt always throws that in most of his builds anyways..unless its a final. So it will wipe whether you want it to or not. Just in case you want to not wipe, and dont do a backup, and then loose your info.
Always Back Up!!

You can read in the dev section where most people ask this and get the same answer...its up to you but any problems and you better try a wipe before you ask for more help.

Pretty sure Newt has his installer wipe anyway -- IIRC there is a "wiping till it hurts" message during install.

so i just rooted my epic using [MOD][One Click Root]ClockworkMod version 3.1.0.1[RFS & EXT4] this method...
i was just wondering is there only certain roms i can flash with this method or is this universial, coming from the evo and everthing was compatiable.. if this is true i was looking for a rom wiki but can't seem to find one so i am wondering was everyones suggestion for rom would be for this method...
Welcome and yes every ROM is compatible with this root method. Here are some good roms to try:
Simply ASOP (my current fav.)
SFR1.2 (flash rom, then kernel, then journaling on, reboot)
RandomRom (known for best battery life)
Revolt Rom
UrbanLegend
strictly battery life, go with RandomRom. most of the mods are included like hotspot and vibrate/silent. It is using an older version of genocide kernel but you can upgrade if you please..

It's outdated, thats why. Also, there was another thread exactly like this. In that thread there was some talk of baked snack...but the developer moved on to evo 3d. I'd go with Syndicate Rom Frozen or any ERA rom.
Hello all I'm looking for a completely stock gingerbread but with root not a cyanogen or omfgb just like you bought say the nexus s
As far as I know, there is no completely stock rom for the Inc2. I think omgb is the closest you will get.

Hi, I am not new to rooting and custom ROMs but it has been a while and the forum has so many roms that it is hard to decide which is the most stable.
Would you guys please recommend to me the best/most stable/most customizable(cyanogen) AOSP rom for this phone? Basically I'd want the best CM9 rom and hopefully CM10 once its stable.
Thanks

I second that. CM9 Beta 1 has been very stable for me.

Interesting.. so thats in the original development section, whats the difference between original and android development?
Also, I'm a little lost on the whole recovery thing... can someone please explain it to me and how I can get the safe clockwork for my s2 so I can flash the CM9 you guys posted? My baseband is the FH13
Edit: What do you guys think about AOKP? I loved it when i had my evo... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514665
Can I follow the simple steps in that post? Any requirements beforehand?
I have not seen a consistent explanation about the difference between the Android and original development forums.
I have not tried AOKP. That particular version you linked is no longer being developed. There is a newer Jelly Bean build here:

1. I believe the difference between the to sections is that Original development is for AOSP based roms while android development is for roms based of stock or leaked firmware. That being said i dont think that many people understand that when they post and it has been kind of a Cluster f.
2. Are you currently on the OTA? you will need to odin a kernel that has a working recovery with it. If youre going to another rom right away it may be easiest to odin EL26 cwm, then load into recovery and flash because this will install the kernel/recovery packaged in the rom.
3. Ive used AOKP some and its pretty nice but i am one that likes to stay with a rom that still has activity. That way if i have problem there may be a chance that it is going to get fixed. But if you are ok with a few problems here and there go ahead and test out CM10 or sbrissens AOSP.

1. Yeah I was going towards that conclusion but I dont think people understand it either.
2. I already flashed CM9. I used the mobile odin method in this link: http://e4gtcm.blogspot.com/p/cm9-install-guide.html
I flashed the kernel and I got stuck on recovery and couldnt get back to my regular rom. I was just wanting to get a recovery then I mounted the storage and put CM9 and gapps and flashed away. Now im running CM9 and its flawless.
3. Can you link me sbrissens AOSP? Thanks!
