Would any theme creators out there be willing to do a Psychopathic Records theme for me? I would like for it to be similar to the Gears Of War Theme created by ZiggSeVO and Paul627g. I love the gears theme but would love to see something Psychopathic. I know its a long shot, not sure how many Juggalos/lettes peruse the epic forums. Help is greatly appreciated. Please message me to work out pics and icon info. I am actively researching how to begin creating my own themes. Still a Noob to this so bear with me.

As a noob I must have missed a step. Once I removed original gears theme and then flashed the "modified" one. It went through the boot animation and then force closed and looped the boot. The pic I have is of J and Shaggy. And it would be cool to have the a nice smooth hatchetman logo that matches the color at both ends of where the "Galaxy S" logo is at the bottom of the status bar. If you want to go all out and make a all out theme I have loads of ideas. but i do not wish to burden you. It seems like alot of work and Im so happy you replied. I just do not want to take advantage of your kindness. I will be glad to donate to you or pay you for the theme. Even if its for the public. For the boot animations I would like to have a clip from "In Yo Face" video. Its a high energy video and would stand out. yes yes i can do all this... i will pm you my email so you can send me all the pics n stuff, ideas based off of my theme, the boot animation is gonna be the hardest but its still not too hard. & would you have a sound clip for that in yo face clip so i can make a matching boot ani. i can change the dialer backgrounds, & most of the system apps as well, & if you do wanna donate i dunno how to set it up thru paypal yet, im sure its easy, but what eva... just give me ALL... your ideas & it will only take me a couple of days topps all i need to know is what rom your running

well when you go on landscape mode you will get a acore force close. can you verify this for me by tilting your phone. if you get a force close message write back.
I just tilted it now and yes if I go back to the home screen after tilting I get a force close

found fix for cyanogen 3.4.4. thanks to cyanogen. will post soon. things keep updating as soon as i fix something something new comes out, lol.
8/9/11 - 10 PM: Since the mod itself is very deep in the framework-res code, the request has been changed to a stock theme with ONLY the 8 Lockscreen mod. At least this way, anyone who feels bold enough to overlay their own themes onto this modded base may do so.
I greatly appreciate maddoggin's on the 8 Lockscreen mod, but I just don't want to change the theme settings that I have now (plus piling themes on top of one another gave me phone problems). All I want is the mod itself, no status bars, no themes, no icon changes, just the mod.
That is, unless someone can tell me what do modify from maddoggin's initial theme to leave just the lockscreen mod.

the mod is baked into framework-res... which would make it impossible to get the mod without changing half of your theme (battery icons, notifications, window frames anything that resides in framework-res) in other words you would need to do it individually for each theme.

thats true.. if anybody wants to try taking a gingerbread metamorph for framework-res and adding the xmls and required images to it. i got it to work once for froyo with window animations... i dont run ginger so i wont be able to mess around with this one.

Does that mean that it's like the CRT mod or is the appropriate code even deeper than that? Should I just aim my request directly at maddoggin, then?
In that case how about a request for a stock theme with the lock mod, crt and overscroll.

While that solution does work for me, it may not work for someone else who desires a non-stock theme (again, layering multiple themes can cause problems which means a data wipe is needed). Ideally, maddoggin could release the code for modding framework-res so all the themers can successfully integrate it, but if worst comes to worst (and it's programming, so it often does), then I'll change the request to a modded stock theme.

He has man. Not every theme has incorporated it. The easy way to do it is to swap in your preferred images.

I haven't seen a code release thread anywhere for it. I did a search for it, but all I have seen is various theme threads giving credit.
So if we were to try and "snatch and replace" just the 8 ls mods...inside fr res...what would these 8..be called in the folder becaue i am dying to try...gettin bored with 6 lol?? I been puttin all kinds of themes together to get where i am now..why stop? Thanks in advance..

i dont know why people think there is "code" or "source" to be released! i understand you may want to do this your self and use how ever you want to use i truly understand that! thats how it all started for me i saw other samsung phones with this mod and told my self why doesnt the epic have it andd i requested and requested untill i just said "**** IT" imma do it myself! well you want to know how i did it! theres no damn "source" or speciail magic trick or even a guide on how to do it! i grabbed the mod from 3 different phones dude! the fascinate, galaxy 19000 and the captivate. and i searched the forums and figured out how to make it all work on our phone! thats how it was done! no source no tricks! of course i got help from the guys i dl the mods from but thats it! so im sorry the lock mod isnt exactly to your liking dude and anyone else for that matter. but if you want something done try searching around the forums and figure out how to do it yourself otherwise shut the **** up, quit whinning and be happy that have 8 damn locks to choose from at all!

I am always open to help someone out that's has never been a problem I help those who ask for help! But I won't walk you through the whole process! You WILL learn or you WILL give up! All you have to do is open up my files! You want to know the source is! The source is the s5tock files! That's the damn source! You compare my files with the stock ones and get the difference! That's the mod! What some people are asking for is for me to give them only the files needed for the mod! That's ****ing ridiculouse! That would take me more time to do than it did to make it work on our phone! There are so many files modded it would be almost impossible and in anycase this mod isn't mine to give away it belongs to the man who created it and he will be of less help than me trust me!

When I update my files to the new leak (when a deodexed rom is posted) I will make a stock version of the mod nothing else no battery % nothing just plain stock version! That's the best I can do! Sorry for getting frustrated! But I put in allot of time making this mod work on each release and I don't get paid for it **** my wife is mad at me cause I spend more time on this mod than I do with her! Lmao! So yeah it gets frustrating when you hear someone isn't happy with your work! Sorry!

Hey, I was just wondering if some of you more experienced bros could help me out, I was trying to port over an old Vibrant theme, Black Froyo (by Samcrow) which was, is, and always will be my favorite. I Changed some icons, and added a little color, but for some reason it is giving me forced closes when ever I try to enter the settings menu.Just wondering if someone could pleeeaaase port this theme over for me, with some added cyanogen mod blue color icon mods. I will send a donation as a thanks. Below I will post the original Blackfroyo for Vibrant link, however the pics are down, so I will also be posting a link for a Black froyo theme fort for the Epic 4G with pics, so you can get an idea of what it looks like if you havent already seen it. a huge thanks to SamCrow for such a great theme. Good to see your work back Rixsta. I've been giving codeworkx CM9 a try for a couple of days now, I like it apart from a storage issue. Anyway, found this theme and flashed it, like the look and its a good start.
As always I will give some feedback lol. Not keen on the background in contacts and in menus areas, could do with being more subtle to make it easier to view contacts. Finally, maybe remove the cyan. The red is stunning on its own.
Anyway guys, keep up the great work.

Your pretty smart aint ya!!! I didnt ask for a smartarse answer and especially not from you. Also if you widen your thoughts beyond 'smartarse' thinking then maybe you could see that actually a red theme would work well and maybe the guys would develop that, dependant on feedback and demand, then name it something else. As you know, it couldnt be called Cyanored, that would be pointless. Pretty much like your comment!!

Found out that it was placing the bootanimation.zip in the wrong folder, problem is now corrected.

Yeah mate that should be fine. Do a nandroid backup just in case, then you can restore easily if something goes wrong.

Chill, its all about love on this page, not hate
Some feedback:
Works great on latest build (20120217).
Detailing is really well done - blending of red/blue very nice.
For my personal taste the shade of red is a little too bright.
Battery number in status bar is not readable (maybe i need new glasses).
I couldn't see a way to change the background image for settings etc. I quite like this wall, but i'm sure people are going to want to change it.

getting there i need help with changing text to dark blue or black what ever looks nicest the white needs to be more white and theres still loads more parts of the menu and apps missing but its a start for my first ever go at making a theme . did tri to change lockscreen from white to a lightish blue but for some rezen didnt work iv added the framework-res.apk and screenshoots of how looks so fair tell me what you think guys

your idea could look good. Theming is easy if u know how to decompile and recompile but its a lot of work editing every single image and 9.png. Probably u could learn it and find some dudes who can help u. i worked with a guy who learned it by himself and now he is doing his themes. His theme is the black infinitum(razor(x))...ask him if he can help u, he is good

sorry didn#t saw ur last post with the white background What u need is to change the textcolor in the xmls. don´t know wich one =/ by the way if u didn´t decomiled the apk u have to do it to be able to edit xmls.
I havent had a play yet with ICS but if its still similar to GB you'll need to decompile and edit framework-res.apk/res/values/colors.xml.

I was going to look at putting my own style into the framework and then re-directing to the theme by editing the manifest as described above but i never got around to it.

think i may have biten off more than i can handle lol i am a android phone user love installing new roms and tweakin to make my roms fast and long batt . but then it comes to editing xml and other stuff like that well i can well put my hands up and say i dont know were to even start lol but im one to learn and give it a go . thanks guys for the info . just want to know if theres a propper guide to android theme ... xml/photo/edit ... but i know i can push this out fast if i know what im doing once going there aint no stopping a new color everyday or nerly every 2 days ... blue green pink orange yellowwhat ever color. it will all be done as i know ppl want this . i for one want suming like this . not just (black/blue ics) cm9/aokp/sammy roms but think of it like "skittles taste the rainbow"... o and just to say i know i can ask devs to help but the way i think about it is if sumone shows me the bases of a how to then i can cut out the middle man waiting on him to add the last bits to the theme when i can do it all once been shown then i will defo be able to push new themes out once a day

xml editing isnt difficult at all, if the link i posted earlier does work then it would save a massive amount of time editing apk's to match your theme, instead you tell apk's to use your pre configured theme.
I might do a bit of testing next week when im in a relatively stable state.
