How do I update my evo to 2.2 from 2.1.. ? I need to reroot my evo. I herd 2.3 isnt rootable.. I rooted 2.1 and tried to restore cyanogen mod 7 nandroid back up and it didn't work so I figured I had to be on 2.2 or something. Correct me if I'm wrong

You can update to the latest ota. Then go to revolutionary.io then follow the instructions to root your evo.

Create a nandroid, install a 2.2 rom, like warm 2.2, and you're good.

Ok I just rooted my Evo not too long ago and I'm interested in the CyanogenMod 6.. now my question is, do I just have to download the mirror where it says 6.0.0 supersonic and follow the steps or do I need to download any other part for this root?

for cm6 you need to hAVE nand unlock

Now I just rooted with the newest root that came out for the 2.2. Where I had 2 downgrade to 2.1. I know I used unrevoked forever.. how do I know if I have nand unlocked?

if you followed the whole post on rooting 2.2 you should have nand unlocked you can also check yuor hboot version if it isXXXX.79.2 you do not have nand.

If you rooted with unrevoked 3 then there is no reason to run unrevoked forever. You are s-off I take it? If you are still s-on for some reason running unrevoked forever will not wipe your phone.
But will give me S-OFF ?

If you want to update, download a rooted stock rom and flash. If you already have a stock rooted 2.2, it isn't necessary to flash the new 3.70 release....the new release is just a sprint maintenance upgrade...you really wont see any new functionality.

My buddies EVO has never been rooted and he got the GB OTA. He wants to go to CM7. His bootloader says S-off so I don't know why I can't install superuser.
Oh, I searched dont cop a 'ttude
His phone is rooted, but the ROM doesn't have superuser privileges. Download a rooted 2.3 version and install it for superuser privileges. Flash AmonRa as a PC36IMG if need be

Wait whoa just read that. He has never rooted his phone, but it says S-Off? And if it is S-Off, just flash AmonRa and go to the CM7 thread and download it and flash it.

Got to admit he is right how is that possible. Sounds like it was rooted and had unrevoked forever then he updated. Why he updated is another story but like you were told just run Amon PC36IMG file and flash away
