please, anyone....?

I had almost the same problem. Mine didn't reboot, but it froze after 7-8 sec. after entering pin. I quickly uninstalled Setcpu (had 2 hurry before freezing) - and installed again. Maybe you can try the same? I believe this is caused of too heavy undervolting..??

Easy enough to just flash via CWM but im assuming you dont have an alternative kernel on your SD. if so, just flash to speedmod or a kernel that doesnt support Setcpu so it doesnt activate.
Alternatively flash via Odin a non supportive kernel, then tick it so it doesnt activate on boot and reflash the kernel you were using.

or you could just set the safe mode flag before booting your phone and stock CPU settings will be set
make a file in the root of the SD and rename it to " setcpu_safemode", simples
example create a new .txt file and rename the file including extention to " setcpu_safemode"
"example.txt" then becomes " setcpu_safemode"

My awesomness killed my Defy+

Hi,
I managed to screw up just about really bad with my Defy+ after flashing it with Waikiui which i afterwards noticed doesnt work with the Defy+ so now im in some hard packed poo here.
I have come to the conclusion that RSD Lite should do the trick if im lucky but i need to find a good SBF to flash the Defy+ with. Originally this phone rolled with a Nordic (GB?) so im looking for either that or something else that could be a good exchange for it.
Would it be possible to flash it with for an example Cyanogenmod or something?
Regards.
//FlashTec80
On the CM webpage, under the Devices - > Motorola Defy it says says there is no official support for defy+ ... on the other hand on the CM forums there are numerous posts by people claiming it runs just fine, seems like some run into a bug where the battery doesnt charge to 100% or something, you might want to stick to a ROM thats officially approved for your device or do a little bit more reading before you take the plunge. I would have posted links to forums and official page but apparently I cant since Im a noob and I need at least 8 previous posts
Tried to run CM 7 in RDS Lite, but it said that files mentioned in the XML file was missing, is that normal?
You can't flash CM7 using RSDlite. RSDlite is used for flashing of .sbf files!
To get your phone back to life, follow this steps:
1. Phone off, battery out
2. Hold Volume Up and Power Button and put the battery back in while holding the buttons - phone will boot into it's bootloader - you will see some white letters saying Bootloader Version 09.10 etc..
3. Install latest USB drivers - found here - http://developer.motorola.com/docstools/USB_Drivers/
4. Start up RSDlite on your PC (you need version 5.3.1)
5. Use this sbf - link (put the .sbf file in root C:/ and rename it to something short (e.g. defy235.sbf)
6. Select that sbf file in RSDlite and press START
7. Wait until the process reaches 100%, by that time your phone will be completely turned on > it's alive again
Can't write more, need to get going to classes, but will help you with everything else, as well. It's easy, just be patient.
P.S. Ignorance killed your defy+, not awesomeness
Cheers!

Had a safe day Some bloody hooligans were on the bus home, though... Goddamn idiots. Anyway, on the brighter side of life...
You got your phone working again, mate? I suggest you stick with your stock ROM until tomorrow, then I'll walk you through the ROM's I've used and that'll help you make your pick and I'll help you with installing them, as well.
The fact that it's midnight here and that I get up at 6 for classes tomorrow is the reason you will have to wait for me

I'm glad you got to MS2G by yourself
I think the best way is to overclock in Recovery. You'll find the CPU menu when you open it and there you'll see 3 or 4 different settings. Every setting has a clock option and a vsel option. vsel sets the amount of electrical power that the CPU gets at a certain clock.
Best way to overclock would be to go step by step. Increase the highest clock setting by 50MHz, then reboot your phone and see if it works OK If it doesn't boot successfully or it hangs while you're using it - increase the vsel by 1. Then if it's stable, go on, another 50MHz+ and testing again...
Other than that, you can just set it to 1200MHz at once and increase the current vsel for that clock setting by 3-4, that would probably work as well
I have never overclocked mine, though Well, actually, the WIUI ROM come's with overclocked setting itself, it was at 1.1GHz, but it was slower than Pikachu at 1.1GHz So, overclocking doesn't help as much as a good ROM does At least that's my opinion.
P.S. CM9 (ICS) is wonderful But, you should wait for a couple more builds, while the things get even better. For me, CM9 and stock ROMs (including ms2ginger) are the best! You can always test, anyway I've come down to CM7 from CM9 and I'm truly sad

That sbf is the only one to make at least my phone stuck in the boot loop.
The others just don't show me anything, I got a black screen.
Maybe the sbf isn't the good one ?
I have done a backup of my system before I used rsd lite. How can I restore it as it's not a sbf file but a directory with .img ... files ?
Good replies every1, i dont know if im doing anything wrong here.
I first installed SetVsel app and changed the values in there, then when running stabilitytest it said i had the value i had chaged to. Uninstalled the app and tried to change value directly in 2ndinit but now when running stabilitytest it sais i only have 1000Mhz, thou in 2ndinit it clearly sais that vsel4 is set to 1200, any idea?
Cheers and have a safe day every1
Edit: "vsel sets the amount of electrical power that the CPU gets at a certain clock", so how high is it possible to push it before i see smoke coming out of my phone?

[Q] I have some strange Kernel issues !!!

Hello folks! As the title says I have quite a strange issue with some kernels (Franco,LeanKernel and STOCK!!). I flash the kernels after flashing a rom ,doing it clean(all the wipes) and the phone is working fine for couple hours or a day, after that it just going verry sluggish even in appdrawer or when switching desktop screens. I looked at the CPU frequencies and they change as they shouldn't,I can tell that somethig isn't right with the cpu...I have this issue only with those kernels. I tried stock roms,4.2.x roms, flashed even google images to be sure it's stock, tried them with AOKP 4.2 and 4.1 ,CNA and the list could go on...
Is someone else having the same issue??
Any fix for this? I really want to try franco's kernel!!!
1. Hmmm, are you running a live wallpaper?
2. Do you face the same issue while using Trinity Kernel?
3. Are you sure you do not have any app such as SetCPU which is controlling the speed of CPU?
4. If you set the CPU speed back to normal, does this fix the issue?
5. How much space is mostly left on your sdcard?
I hope the answers of these questions will help to identify your problem much bettER
I don't have the same issue with faux's and trinity kernels . I don't have any program,i don't use a live wallpaper, how I can speed back to normal the cpu?

Using AnTuTu CPU Master, check the speed set for the CPU when the phone is sluggish and if it something other than the normal 1200 MHz then modify it back to normal. This is what I meant
The frequencies changes verry verry fast, that's when the phone becomes sluggish,i have mini freezes, lots of them

I think some background processes are causing this so the CPU is trying to respond to them.
I suggest that you do a full wipe, install a ROM and use Franco's kernel, but do not install any other application on your phone, only default ones installed already with the ROM, maybe Gapps as well just to have a usable phone for some time, then check after a day whether it is again sluggish although there are no applications at all or it is still running fine. At least we would be able to know that maybe one of your application is not compatible well with these kernels and causing this mess.
You may want to avoid wiping so try to force stop the applications running in the background (and cached processes as well) to see if one of them is causing this problem.
Good Luck
I did wipe the data and didn't install any application and I have the same issue :-s

Nope
I am not sure I have helpful suggestions anymore except to be sure that you are using the correct Franco kernel whether you are running a 4.1 ROM or 4.2 one.
I hope other members can solve this problem for you. Maybe you will get a bettER help if you discuss this with the Franco kernel users on the Franco kernel thread.
Thanks anyway,i'll post this issue on franco's kernel thread and hope for a fix...and be sure i flashed the correct version of kernel )
Anyone? Please?

Carrying on from here where we were in franco's thread. If you're flashing gapps then clearly you aren't using stock ROM like I told you to try. So, my suggestion to you for troubleshooting remains the same:
osm0sis said:
Well that's really peculiar. I'd try flashing stock again using fastboot. I'd fastboot oem lock, then fastboot oem unlock to wipe, then flash the entire image set as in efrant's thread just to make sure it all gets wiped. But unfortunately, like I said, if stock kernel doesn't work over a fresh fastboot flash of Google's factory image on your device there's still something very wrong, and it's likely wrong with the device itself.

Use the latest Google Factory Image for your device like I suggested, then you can see if you get the OTA immediately or you can flash it yourself. Do all this before you put any apps on, and don't let it put any apps on and see if you still have the issue with a completely stock setup.

Please report back only when you've followed that to the letter.
Tried both, the ones from the images, and the gapps on a stock flashed rom via recovery...I'm trying to resolve this for over 2 weeks now...
L.E : Ok,I will pm you when I manage to have some time for doing this again, thanks for your kindnes
I don't care how many times you think you've done it correctly before, I want you to try it AGAIN. And make sure you've completely wiped by using fastboot oem lock and unlock, then follow efrant's thread to the letter for flashing the entire image set. Factory Images ONLY, no stock-ish kitchen garbage.
I'm happy to help you but you've got to follow my instructions, since this is what I would be doing if I had this issue on my device.
Ok,I will,is there anyguide for locking and unlockingthe bootloader ? or simply "fastboot oem lock" and after "fastboot oem unlock" ?

Yeah those are the commands. That's it. :good:
I think it's mentioned in efrant's post too, but no special guide necessary. Use the adb and fastboot that he attached too if you're new to fastboot.
I'm used to fastboot,I don't even need the guide to see the commands now,I think I used them like 100 times last 2 weeks )
Fair enough. Please follow the guide anyway though, and be sure to also flash userdata.img and recovery.img to be completely stock. You can fastboot boot cwm.img if you need it to flash your OTA afterwards. We just need you at 100% stock so we can try to figure this thing out. Also maybe hold off on adding your Google account so it doesn't start forcing apps onto your device. It could very well still be a rogue app issue so we need to try and keep your device as empty as possible to see if we can rule out hardware defect. :good:
Should I install any apps?
I did everything you said, now i'm waiting for it to boot up

Sixaxis controller
Hi All
I have been running trunderROM 800 v2 for a while now and I am very happy with it thanks to shaheer and everyone involved for taking the time to make this amazing rom.
I'm having trouble with the sixaxis controller app.
It will connect to the tablet if I run the app with in the first 30 seconds of rebooting but then it will drop out after period of time sometimes hours sometimes just minutes.
The rest of the time it will just hang on listening for controller.
It seems that a something is cutting the connection when it runs in the background and stops the connection being made once it is running. If I connect it within the first 30 seconds everything works for a time, then the red light turns off on the ps3 controller but the app still says that it's connected.
I was wondering if anyone else was having similar issue with this rom and app?
I'm not sure if this is a rom issue or not but it seems to me that it might be as it does work to a point and then stops.
I would be grateful for any help or ideas on how to fix this.
Many thanks Richie

No worries man I was a noob to android back in july. Twrp is a custom recovery when you press the home+power+vol up at the same time while the tab is booting. Aroma installer is an installer inside the rom in which you can pick the apps, launcher and few few other settings while installing the rom. It makes the debloated process easyer. To install twrp you must be rooted and search in the play store twrp. Once its downloaded open it and hit install. You have to pick the exact model you have. May I ask what model is your tab s and size? Once you pick your model you will have to hit the install and it well make you download the file needed for the recovery. It then should say its installed and you will have to reboot into recovery. Twrp recovery is a touch recovery in which you can can install roms. To install roms (thunderrom/rom in a zip) You will have to backup everything. You have to hit the backup tab and check/tick every box in which md5 check, compression, data boxes are optional depending on how much memory you have. Now you just have to slide the slider and it will backup everything. It may take a while and you should have your battery charged while doing this. After your backup is done, now is the installing of the rom. You have to clear dalvik and cache before installing it. To do so I forget which tab its in but it should be in advanced. After clearing those you now hit the install tab. Now you have to select the rom you downloaded and it should be in the downloads folder. When its selected slide the slider and it will install it and take you to amora installer. Just pick the things you want and then it will install it and take you back to twrp. Now just hit the reboot tab and tap system. Then the tab s will reboot and have a custom rom. There are also some helpful videos on youtube to help you and if i forget something. Hope this helps! My fingers hurt lol.
I have a question: I understand I need to do a complete back up before flashing any Rom, but to do that don't I need to install a custom recovery. So does that mean I won't be able to put the stock **recovery** back if I need to?

To install that backup you will need the custom recovery. You can get back to stock by flashing the stock recovery img. I dont know exactly how to put back on the stock one but custom recovery is mostly needed to install your backups in case something goes wrong.

Via twrp. Wiped cache, dalvkit, system then flashed, waited 10 min, rebooted and finished first setup. Reflashed on top about 30 minutes ago just to see if it missed some files on the install, but it's still the same.

Google Account Manger crashing on setup
Hey folks!
Flashed this rom (both 2.0 and the beta) and I get the same problem when going through the setup of the tablet. When I get to the screen 'some apps are personalized to the user' or something, I need to enter a name, when I do so I click next and I get the error message 'Unfortunately, Google Account Manager has closed unexpectedly' (my wording might be off, but I assume you guys know what I am talking about).
Would really like to try out this rom, but can't seem to figure out how to fix this issue.
FIXED:
When I put in anything into the name fields, the app crashed. Leaving them blank allows the process to continue.

Device dead and reboot

Hey guys, first i come from VN and my English is not good. Hope everyone can understand.
My device sometimes stop working then auto reboot. The screen auto off and about 3-4 second the led turn red color and the screen turn on then screen blur little with some blur stripe and it auto boot. It's make me scare :"( do you have same problem and what can we do to stop it?
My device still work ok but sometimes this happen.
Thanks.
Try factory reset, otherwise you need to send the device for repair. I do not have any issue with my Z5 the only issue I had was when my MicroSD card stop working (could not write to it could only read) and my device rebooted and slowed down. I replaced my MicroSD card and everything is great since then.

I'm 99% sure the reason is that you install custom firmware and xposed module, but mess something up... as a result you get a lot of garbage in System UI and Launcher UI settings.
The common reason of reboots is lag in framework which controlls OVERHEATING...device think that CPU temp is critical and reboots.
So if you are scared about this, my advice is to install clean STOCK firmware,
p.s. but installing of xposed module is fixed already and you can find very detailed guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/workaround-bootloops-xposed-lollipop-t3089203
and the part of it you need is

Anybody who is still having any kind of issues, for whatever reason, please do the following:
get into TWRP;
install, in this order, without rebooting:
xposed-uninstall-v1.1.zip
If you don't have an sd card, you'll need to reboot once after the uninstall .zip, boot the system normally, then get back in the recovery and install the other 3. This only applies to people who don't use an SD card
xzdr-busybox-enable-v1.0.zip
xposed-sdk21-arm-date.zip
xposed-leakplug-v1.2.zip
copy the logs to the PC, over USB:
uninstall_xposed.log
install_busybox.log
install_leakplug.log
each of the 3 zip's will tell you where it saved the log (it's usually the external sdcard)
reboot to system
Thanks in advance for not asking any questions about whether you have to do any of these steps; yes, you have to.
Easy
Cheers

Dear Sir, im very happy with your's help, everytime i flash Aroma Rom, everytime i have this problem @@ when i used flashtool to flash stock FW .170 My device clearly and this problem not happened @@

G930A_QE1_Stock_Deodexed_Rooted_ROM

This is my first ever ROM to post up. I just recently started building them. This is a stock deodexed Nougat ROM that is pre rooted. It is 100% AT&T Nougat with just a few fixes. I have left all Samsung and AT&T bloat for those that want all the bloat but like to be rooted and deodexed.
Follow the steps below for installation:
Step 1: You must already be on Nougat firmware. There are various threads on how to do this but if you can not figure it out just ask and i will try to assist you the best i can.
Step 2: Once on Nougat, root your device. Follow this guide https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502
Step 3: Once Rooted, install Flash fire from playstore.
Step 4: Open Flashfire and grant SuperSU access, once you are at the main menu, press the + and select Flash ZIP or OTA, go to the place you stored the ROM and selecet it. On the next screen MAKE SURE "Mount /system read/write" is selected and click the check mark in the upper right hand corner.
Step 5: Click the + sign again and select "Wipe", leave the defaulted boxes checked (System data, 3rd party apps, and Dalvik cache) and click the check mark in the upper right corner again. ( optional, you can select internal storage but you don't have to).
Step 6: VERY VERY IMPORTANT, select and hold down on Wipe and move it above "Flash ZIP or OTA"
Step 7: Make sure EverRoot is disabled and Reboot is set to normal.
Step 8: Click the lightning bolt and then yes on the next prompt, and let FF do it's thing.
*****Be patient, it will take up to 15 min to boot but most times it is quicker than that.*****

This is 100% stock rooted, deodex, if it didn't work on stock unrooted, chances are that it don't work on this one either.
Hello, I've flashed the rom and loving it so far, it is buttery smooth and seems to have the same battery drain as in stock, but two problems... Every reboot or when I just turn off the wifi, it forgets the password. I've tried build prop editor and set ro.securestorage.suppprt to false, but no success. Another problem, Blutooth won't turn on. It used to before I changed the build prop, but now, it just doesn't turn on. I'm not sure if it is a problem with nougat root or your rom itself, I would love some answers. Otherwise the rom is great and I hope you continue to update it as there isn't a lot of development in AT&T.

Thank you for your feedback. I have experienced the Bluetooth issue on another more custom rom that I'm building, i haven't pin pointed it yet but am still working on it. I was originally thinking it had something to do with something that i removed from the rom (bloat) because when i run this rom with all the bloat i didn't have the issue. I will switch back to this rom and run it for a few days and see if the issue pops back up. As for the WiFi password, i have no problem with that and i have mine set to "true". I'll look into it though and get back with you.
For the battery drain, install kernel auditor, settings menu in top left corner, go to cpu, and set the governor to "on Demand" that will help a little bit.

Thank you. The Bluetooth problem was fixed when I reverted the changes I made in build prop, and for the wifi problem I think it was something I froze in titanium backup, since I froze some bloat etc.

The changes you made in build.prob? You mean by setting the secure.storage to false? I do know that on the custom Rom I'm building, i had it set to false and i was having the blue tooth issue, for the WiFi issue, it could be something you froze, can you SS your frozen list.

Thanks, the only two things that I'm not sure what it is, is UPSM_N and com.android.Samsung. M. I'm not saying that could be causing it but I'll habe to research what those two things are. Thank you.

Unfortunately, yes. Maybe something went wrong when I flashed the rom... I'll try reflashing the rom later , when I have time.

ok. Yea i would try that. I can't duplicate the issue on my end. Leave the ro.secure storage set to true and see if that fixed it. That's what mine is set at and I'm not having any problems with Bluetooth or passwords at this moment.

I have reflashed the rom and also added a dual speaker mod. Everything is working like a charm. Bluetooth and Wifi are all working.
Flashed this and it works fine, but I also experience WiFi 'losing' passwords.
I just flashed it again and no change. In fact, from the time I enter the WiFi password during setup until setup is done, I have to re-enter WiFi password because it 'forgets' (it reports authentication error later after having worked fine initially)
Any other ways to fix this so I don't have to keep re-entering passwords like this?

Use root explorer, go to system/build.prop and make sure ro.secure.storage is set to "true" as shown in the attachment. I live around Houston TX so we're prepping for the hurricane at the moment so I might be oit for a few days but I'll try to check back on here as soon as I can. Another issue that has been brought up is the phone forgetting Bluetooth device after a reboot. At this moment there is no fix for it that i can find. As soon as I can find a fix for this i will upload a new version.
