Hey guys
In most devices (eg htc trophy)
There is no physical button below the device to unlock, (When the device is in sleep mode) like the iPhone "home button" just touch keys
It's very annoying to reach up to sleep button to unlock.
What do you think?

I don't really see the hassle...
I have an Omnia 7 and i never wake the phone up using the windows key. I always hit the power key :S
Er....I'm confused, what's the problem?
I've an Omnia 7 and I always use the Window button to wake my phone (for example : just to use one finger when the phone is on the table !)

I have a Trophy and do it all the time, no hassle... on the bike and even while driving (don't quote me on this).
I have an HD7 which is bigger and it doesn't bother me..

Which is exactly my point... My phone has one and I never use it. I had no problem on my old HTC Touch HD either.

I happened to see a vid posted online comparing a prototype AT&T XL to the One X. It's got a different approach to the settings dots than what ended up implemented. It's an overlay that doesn't reduce the available size of the screen. I get that you hit the down arrow to hide it. But how would get get it to redisplay? I guess we'll never know.

There's also a really stupid feature on the One X. You can set the off button to hang up on calls (I liked it on the SGS2). When you're on the phone the screen blanks to save battery. So with a blank screen and no physical or active buttons, the only button that functions is the on/off switch. In other words, once the screen goes blank it has to stay that way until you hang up the call. Interesting feature.

The phone uses the proximity sensor, when you place it close to your ear the screen blanks, when you take it away the screen turns on again. You don't need the power button.
That arrow to pulls 3 dots bar down comes on 1.19 software. I had it before but I updated to 1.26 and it was gone

Not on BT. That's the way I was using it when I found the problem. Good point though.

By holding down the recent apps button. I also had it in 1.19 but then it was removed when i updated to 1.28
In addition to taking you to your homescreen, the Galaxy S III’s physical home button is used to activate Samsung’s S Voice feature By default, double clicking the home button will automatically bring up S Voice. However, in order to recognize a double click, the Galaxy S III must add a few milliseconds of delay..
This is known already. If you are putting "Tip" in the Title then it should be an actual tip in there. Just my take. I may be wrong... But I doubt it. Not to be a butt head but sheesh... lol

Just the tip to see how it feels! :banghead:
I think the recessed home button is inevitable :\
And if you touch the screen all sorts of stuff happens. Thats tip #2.

if you press the power button your screen will go black, tip#3
Came across another tip while trying this one out!
In addition to filling the cavity in the rear of the phone, the Galaxy S III’s battery provides power to the phone. By default the phone experiences extreme lag without a battery (days, even months).
*Samsung was forced via an Apple lawsuit to install this delay by default.

Three touch keys (back, windows, search) on my samsung focus i917 does not work. So i think it very great if you can cook a rom, in which touch keys is replaced by hard key (volume up/down, camera).
I wish back buttom is replaced by volume down buttom and volume up buttom is replaced by volume down.

I could do it but it would take some time because I am real busy this week. PM me if you are interested.
Hi. My new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition has a major problem: the Home button and back and menu buttons stop working from time to time. Same thing with the on off button that refuses to turn the tablet off. Happens randomly, whenever the pen is in or out. To turn off, I have to plug the tablet on charger, then hold the on-off button for many seconds. Rather annoying. Had the same problem with my other 10.1 2014.... that I scraped trying to change the battery. Any help will be welcome.

Hi,
Mine has the same issue. Reckon it is a factory defect.
However, I'm using Settings -> Device -> Accessibility -> Assistant menu.
With this function, found no problem to navigate around.
Or,
You can use "Pie Control (Pro)" app or "OmniSwitch" app
in order to use the softkey buttons.
Hope this is helpful for you.

YES! Thank you, it works. When I think that when the first 2014 edition had that problem, I was convinced it was a battery defect and I ordered one new. I opened the case following the instructions, but I was unlucky and I broke the connector behind the Home button. Then, trying to unbend (?) the bottom section, il really broke. I now have two spare batteries... Next time, I'll ask the specialists.
I think I have identified a bug. Once I am in split screen the multitasking button seems to not work at all. Anyone else can confirm this? Can go home and bring up next app...but multitask just doesn't respond to a press.

No... normally it will let you multitask to next app in the active one. Also, seems it works in gesture mode.
Here is what it looks like working in gesture mode. The button only works to disable split screen with a long press while using the nav buttons.

Works in gesture mode, but gesture mode has various issues. It's not compatible with like Nova launcher and also isn't compatible with the YouTube, Maps, and other pop up windows. Basically multitask buttons seem to be properly compatible with standard Android 9 stuff and gestures aren't always...but seems maybe the split screen is still some EMUI rather than Android version or something? Basically though some bugs here that I didn't have on Mate 9 with EMUI 8.
Ok... original issue is related to some silly nonstandard multitasking when in split window and need for the stock launcher to be default. Multitasking doesn't bring up active apps, but an app list ran by stock launcher...dumb. home doesn't disable split screen either so does almost same thing as multitasking button. Why was this all setup correct on EMUI 8 and now all jacked up on 9 with the gesture nonsense option.
Please fix this Huawei!
