I happened to see a vid posted online comparing a prototype AT&T XL to the One X. It's got a different approach to the settings dots than what ended up implemented. It's an overlay that doesn't reduce the available size of the screen. I get that you hit the down arrow to hide it. But how would get get it to redisplay? I guess we'll never know.

There's also a really stupid feature on the One X. You can set the off button to hang up on calls (I liked it on the SGS2). When you're on the phone the screen blanks to save battery. So with a blank screen and no physical or active buttons, the only button that functions is the on/off switch. In other words, once the screen goes blank it has to stay that way until you hang up the call. Interesting feature.

The phone uses the proximity sensor, when you place it close to your ear the screen blanks, when you take it away the screen turns on again. You don't need the power button.
That arrow to pulls 3 dots bar down comes on 1.19 software. I had it before but I updated to 1.26 and it was gone

Not on BT. That's the way I was using it when I found the problem. Good point though.

After you arrowed it down, how were you able to get it to redisplay?

By holding down the recent apps button. I also had it in 1.19 but then it was removed when i updated to 1.28

I seem to be having a problem with my multitouch. Like when playing SAS 3, two finger controls seems to go haywire like it would sort of let go halfway. Any solutions/fix?

could be a faulty HOX..
Go to System Settings, scroll to bottom, tap on Developer Options, select the option "Pointer Location" and nothing else!!
now go home.. and touch the screen as you normally would with your 2 fingers and just drag down.. you'll see some crosses and lines.. if those lines have no brakes in them and they stay on screen until you touch somewhere else, then you should be fine, probably just the app that's bugged..
PS: disable the Pointer Location after you test..
report back

It works perfectly well with one finger but quite there's a slight delay when two fingers are there.

I've been using my One X for several weeks now (I think the hboot date is around early June so it's not one of the early batches) and so far didn't have any problem except for the following:
Twice, first a few weeks ago and the second time last night I saw some "artifacts". I'm not quite sure but I think different parts of the screen were affected each time. What happens is that everything is shown how it's supposed to be except for a 30%-40% area which looks a little like a computer screen right after a software/driver crash can look like. Without doing anything, it disappeared each time after less than a second.
I wasn't able to take a screenshot but the following photo shows how it roughly looked like. In my case, there were only lines and cubes in black, white and bright green instead of the more "fuzzy" parts shown in the photo.

Is this a driver issue? A lose connection? A display fault? I was close to unlocking my phone but with this having happened twice so far I wonder whether I should wait a little longer...
PS: It's probably unrelated, but like a minute later I encountered some "keypad ghosting" via swiftkey, i.e. I was pressing some keys on the keyboard and it was inserting several different ones each time. I do suppose that it's a software glitch, though, as I tried the stock keyboard another minute later and this worked fine.
If you can still swap your device with your retailer I would do that, just to be on the save side...
did u update to latest already?
if yes,
was it there before u updated..??
it doesn't look like a hardware issue
Did it act like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HIY0_Hy2_mA ?

No, everything was where it was supposed to be and the artifacts faded away after probably less than a second.
I still have the latest stock Rom, haven't updated yet. I do think it's been more of a software glitch but I couldn't find information on here or anywhere else which would state a similar problem. Which is good?

Hello, is it possible to activate Palm Rejection in this App?
Yep!
Settings )the gear icon in the ep, second top left) --> Pen Mode --> ON.

Yes, but it doesn't work. Your palm still activates zoom-in and zoom-out as you rest it down on the screen. The best solution I've found is make sure the pen is the first thing to touch the screen, then rest your palm down.

Because that's not what palm rejection is designed to do.
It prevents you from drawing on the screen with your hands. That, and only that.
Multitouch and Controls, including zoom, are not part of that.
It clearly says so in the menu.

Even if you put your hand on it first, as soon as the pen gets near to the screen, touch will be deactivated anyway.
Root get gmd spen control. There is a gesture to shut off all touch recignition besides the pen.

I think I have identified a bug. Once I am in split screen the multitasking button seems to not work at all. Anyone else can confirm this? Can go home and bring up next app...but multitask just doesn't respond to a press.

No... normally it will let you multitask to next app in the active one. Also, seems it works in gesture mode.
Here is what it looks like working in gesture mode. The button only works to disable split screen with a long press while using the nav buttons.

Works in gesture mode, but gesture mode has various issues. It's not compatible with like Nova launcher and also isn't compatible with the YouTube, Maps, and other pop up windows. Basically multitask buttons seem to be properly compatible with standard Android 9 stuff and gestures aren't always...but seems maybe the split screen is still some EMUI rather than Android version or something? Basically though some bugs here that I didn't have on Mate 9 with EMUI 8.
Ok... original issue is related to some silly nonstandard multitasking when in split window and need for the stock launcher to be default. Multitasking doesn't bring up active apps, but an app list ran by stock launcher...dumb. home doesn't disable split screen either so does almost same thing as multitasking button. Why was this all setup correct on EMUI 8 and now all jacked up on 9 with the gesture nonsense option.
Please fix this Huawei!
After latest update the lock screen notifications are so dim that they cannot be read ,I am using dark mode. Also is there anyway to lengthen the time they are on screen because they are to fast. Regards
Can you give us a screenshot? I haven't noticed any problem. Thanks.
Thanks. How can I get a screen shot of the lock screen. Regards
Definitely noticed this after side loading the December update.

Volume Down button + Power button. Just make sure and Magick Erase any personal information before sharing.
That's the universal (at least on Android) method to take screenshots most anywhere.

No I'm taking about the notification pill that comes on the lock screen for about 2 seconds. You cannot take a screen shot because it will wake up phone with the power button
Are you talking about the AOD? Mine is dim too since the December update.

I guess I don't know what you're referring to, but I wish I did. How about a photo of it using an old phone if you have one available? Do you use the fingerprint reader? If you don't, I'm not going to disable mine to try to reproduce the same issue, but anything I do that shows me the lock screen (tapping on the screen, pressing the power button), doesn't show anything dim for me for two seconds.

Ah! I see. I have AOD on but I'm using AODNotify's optional feature where I have it set not to show AOD except when I have a notification, and even then to minimize what to show.
Oh well.
