Simply because our device is too new and there is too little of a user base. If somebody wanted to make them in small numbers at a small production cost, it might be difficult (especially on how to make sure it snaps to the device without hurting it), and then marketing them at a price point people would buy would be even more difficult.
It is sort of a mass point problem. We haven't hit critical mass, and thanks to this being a fairly niche phone, we probably won't get that kind of notoriety.
That would look awkward.

Damn that is ugly... Why you would want to attach it to that monstrosity is beyond me

Looks? Who cares about the looks? This adds grip. Not eye candy.
and I doubt you'd be bring this with you while on the go, so why not?
May as well connect your PS3 controller if you are going to this trouble.

I agree, something chunky to sit in the palm of my hand is what the play pad is missing. It's too thin IMO.
Look folks, I grew up playing games on ergonomically awkward controllers. Original NES was Square, SNES was slightly less square. N64 was the first console controller I used that actually pretended to care about cramping hands.
Tough it out a little. You'll grow to love the pain.
LOL you are only a real man when you have wrist and finger problems

The Dreamcast controller was a pleasure to use, except for the DPad.
This would only be cool if it had extended batterys in the grip can you say 24 hours of gaming?

looks funny..

Have to disagree.
The Dreamcast pad 'handles' always felt like it was digging into my palms...and having the wire at the bottom was annoying.
Loved the console though at the time.
I would love a snap on grip. My hands hurt from contorting to hold the little thing.

i dont know but my hands are fine when using the phone.. i have huge hands by the way
I don't mind holding the phone when gaming, except if I'm clenching it hard.
Has anyone tried hothousing the PSP GO handgrip to an Xperia Play case?

Just tried, XPP won't fit. PSP GO is bigger and larger.
Digging a dead xbox controller with dremel work could work though.

After using a smaller phone, does this phone feel "bulky" when you use it? I have looked at the HD2 at the local wally world and it felt almost too wide for my hand and I know they are similar in size.

Get bigger hands.
j/k, I have large hands and the HD2 felt pretty good when I held it in BB so i'm not worried, but I can see how it may be too big for people with smaller hands.
imagine if you're that dude in the Burker King commercial with the small hands lol

I put these pieces together to make a sweet Wii Controller to go. It gets a little heavy, but it's balanced well. Check it out.

nothing there man
That was a pretty slick idea man! I may have to build my own rig for myself now. Thanks for the idea, props!

It was really easy too. The only hard part was super gluing everything together.
Ok, so you have inspired me, I went out n bought the classic pro controller, and I LOVE your idea of the slide in behind holster for the motion controller, I might have to build up something similar, but without the part for the phone itself.
Im gonna keep looking to see if there is something for the pro controller and post back.
Thanks for the idea!
Simply amazing. This looks like a great portable solution.
Looks awesome, but has to weigh a ton! I can see getting fatigued pretty quickly if you're not resting the controller on something while playing.

Nicely done! i'm going to have to build myself one of those when i get some extra cash.
Question for you, like the commenter on your video asked, how did you get that effect when turning off the phone? (the old tube-tv style scrunch and power-off)

Use a Gingerbread-based ROM (he mentions he is using Ultimate Droid 3.1).
Very cool. I like the idea.
Anyone using the wonder as offroad navigator on a mountain bike or for cross-country-trips mounted on the handlebar?
It doesnt need to be waterproof (would be nice of course) but should be solid and should not "loose" the phone on trails.
Any sugestions?

How about something like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KIT-BICYC...0596?pt=UK_Holders_Mounts&hash=item1c27642c14
Looks pretty secure, and is water resistant too.
I found that case to be a bit oversized, but actually it seems to be the best way to keep the phone somehow safe...
I'm gonn atry that out....

Yes it does look a little bit bulky and maybe not the most fashionable item - but I think looks are a sacrifice worth making if it means that your SGW stays safe and doesn't have any nasty accidents out on the trails.
As far as a gamepad and battery cover protector goes, what do you think?
The gamepad protector seems like a good idea but what do you think?

at least it stops XP from scratches and weighs less than a case

Is it re-usable? Where did you get it and what brand is it?
I'm using the Trident case but I could still use it to protect the game pad - and the battery cover even tho it's already protected.

Sweet thnx for the info.
Does the game pad protecter hinder the touch pad performance? The picture looks like it covers them up completely.
Sent from my R800x using xda app-developers app
ya theyre covered but they work flawlessly ...if u need it dont even hesitate:good:
i have it cause i was pretty obsessive with gamepad protection. it is amazing; the only thing is, when i tried to put it on it wasn't the right size and there was a piece hanging out on the top (and i couldn't close the gamepad obviously). i had to cut it with scissors. i also heard about people pushing it underneath the slider with a knife, i couldn't do it, it was too thick. when i cut it, it was still difficult to close the gamepad because of the sudden thickness increase. it's completely negligible, but it didn't work. so i just used some transparent scotch tape to smooth it out and now it works perfectly.
all of this is restricted to a small strip on the top of the gamepad, don't worry
I've been eyeing this for months now... But I'm only interested on the circular sticker for the D-Pad and PS buttons. I won't be putting on the entire sticker that will cover the word XPERIA on the gamepad. It looks awesomely sick I think!
Wow thanks! Didn't know they did things like that looks good, might have to get one:good:
I bought this last year and I've still not received it.

wow, looks great the carbon fiber. just like a cars fan would like his phone to look like :good:
it's nice
Yes it is very cool but be careful while sticking it on.
As you can see I haven't done the best job with the sticking but it's still awesome.
Sent from my R800i using xda premium
do you have any problems closing the gamepad? i had to cut the thing to make it fit and used tape to smooth the sliding. it's almost invisible but i had to :\
Nope no problem with the sliding up or down and I never cut anything. It may be the tiniest bit less smoother than normal but it's almost perfect.
Maybe you never stuck it on properly like a bit of the sticker had to be pushed under the gamepad.
I dunno as you can see my sticker isn't perfectly stuck on but the slidings fine.
You should just keep it the way you have it though if the sticker is invisible it shouldn't matter
yea, of course i'm gonna keep it like this unless i'll want to take it off. when i tried to push part of the sticker under the gamepad i simply couldn't, it was too thick. strange... :\
anyways, do you think the sticker pushes the screen-gamepad gap? it seems that it just fit the small "void" that was there before, so it actually should be a good thing.
Just wanted to say i recently bought this and its mad. I would recommend it.
/==(CyberScopes)==\
Perhaps I'll buy it sometime.
This might be stupid but I have the spigen slim armor case and I was thinking how awesome it would be to have all the gameboy buttons to use it as a gameboy. Something that would be compatible with the emulators currently available. Im probably not wording this right but I hope u get were im going with this.:good:
I have no idea what your talking about. But then again I'm purchasing a Moga Power Pro this minute so... close enough? I also have my Xperia Play sitting around if I need portability with my PSP games when I'm at school or hanging out with friends.

Hey sounds like a good idea. Draw up a couple of different plans on how it will work, and do a kickstarter. Maybe you can get enough money to develop it. They have the Logitech pads for phones, why not make an emulator pad for phones. Just mention my name when you are rich and famous off this idea.
