I really hope someone can help me. I can not use my HTC Desire anymore.
I am using Cyanogenmod for a long time and really like it. The version I am on no is the 7.1 RC 1 mod.
This morning my phone said my sd card was damaged. It was, I had to format it in windows and the SD is empty now.
The problem I now have is a boot loop when I turn my phone on. With or without the sd card installed.
I think I have to wipe my phone but how can I do this, or how can I restore a complete new Cyanogenmod install?
Thanks very much for any support!
John
Start by posting it in the Q&A section next time.
Well how did you install cyanogen for the first time?
You install it in the same way this time as well.

Close your left eye... lift your right foot off the ground...turn your head toward your computer screen...and post in the correct forum.
how do I make pancakes?
seriously though, go into recovery, pick the file you want to flash, do so. the end.
(following that instruction is likely to cause problems. but so is asking vauge questions, and asking them in the wrong section, and not doing any research, and flashing ANYthing without understanding what flashing means, and... and...)

Haha, really man. Just read around through the forums and little bit. You can't flash files if your phone isn't rooted first and if you don't know what that means then try that first. If u can't figure that out then give up. Not being a ****, just saying.

Read the following article:
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html
hopefully you were able to figure it out...it isnt that difficult.
1) Put the file you want to flash on your SD card (not in any subfolders)
2) boot in recovery
3) choose install .zip from sd
4) choose the file
5) wait for it to be done.
probably should do a backup first.
1. put zip in root of sd card
2. reboot in recovery
just remember roms require you to wipe cache, dalvik, and data.
themes usually require wipe cache and if they specify also dalvik.
if its an upgrade you usually dont need to wipe
3.flash zip from sd card(look for the file you want to zip and confirm)
and yes wrong forum, but when you first start doing this it happens good luck flashing
Hello,
I Have an Unrooted Desire that won't get past the HTC screen. I have been searching the sire for ages and can'tfind anything that will let me recover the phone.
I have tried wiping everything from the bootload screen to no avail. (HBOOT-0.93.0001)
Is there an Update.zip that it will use without complaining about signage that will re-flash the phone?
PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

Hello.
First of all this should be moved to Q&A Forum.
Second. How did you get it here? Did you try to flash a RUU? Explain in more detail please.
You could try the following and see if it works. This should get you to stock ROM.
You should make a gold card (search the forum, you'll sure find it how to, and you don't need your phone to make one), then get the latest RUU and extract the PB99IMG from it (here HOW TO -2nd Post), then put it on the root of your SD Card and then boot into the bootloader (Volume Down + Power) and it will start automatically. You'll get back to stock with no ROOT or S-OFF.
If you need to mound SD Card try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=531310 , maybe it can help you.
To create a goldcard see this: http://www.nazriawang.com/2010/04/ho...th-ubuntu.html

yes my friend
I can do?
JTAG or Gold card will help you!!!
Or you could just, you know, read the HSPL/RSPL thread. The one that's stickied at the top of the forum. The one with big red text telling you not to do what you did. The one with a link to the thread that's already discussing what to do if you ignore the big red text.
Alternatively, go ahead and create a new thread, spamming the forum and wasting the time of everybody, yourself included.

I have CyanogenMod 7 on my Desire. It works till today. I installed S2E and after I gave the command to copy all my Dalvik cache etc I can't use the phone anymore.
I can start the booting into recovery option: FASTBOOT,RECOVERY,CLEAR STORAGE and SIMLOCK. I have an recovery image but when I select RECOVERY the phone don't startclockworkmod. It hangs.
What can I do to resolve the RECOVERY option and can have access to my options?
If you can access fastboot, all is not lost.
If you're S-Off, Grab fastboot commander here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193915 as you may need it.
Also look at this extremely helpful guide as you'll probably find the solution here.
Don't forget to thank Bortak if it does help you.

Hi
I hope this helps, This is how I flash all my ROMs without any problems.
Make sure you backup all your contacts first!
I would suggest downloading the ROM again, the when it recovery mode, reset "data/factory, the wipe "cache partition", then go to advanced, and wipe "Dalvik Cache".
Then you want to get "Titanium Backup" and when you install your apps, do a backup using this program, then every time you flash a new ROM all you have to do is, flash it, and then install Titanium Backup the same way you flash your ROM. Then when you boot your phone, just recover all your apps using the said program.
After flash your Rom again and see if it works. This is all presuming that you run the Revolutionary recovery.
I never have problems doing it this way every time
Regards
Murry
Thanx for your quick reply. I will download fastboot commander and give it a try.
If it does help me, i will thank him!
@B2k_ru: I cant access my recovery mode! I don't know how it happen. Maybe S2E bricked my ext?
Thank you. It works . I can select my recovery again. Thanks to Bortak. It wasn't that easy as written. But it helps in any way!
no problem, its helped me before

So people post in the wrong section sometimes. Report them and move on. Yes, it is a problem, but if this gets on your nerves enough to actually make you want to quit XDA, you really need some better nerves.

put the ROM on your SD card if you didn't do it before ..
Did you flash new boot.img of the ROM you're about to flash ??
after these , install zip from SD card
So now he has managed to install recovery. You now need to flash the boot.img from the rom you wish to use via fastboot as well as the rom.zip file via recovery. As mentioned above, follow all steps in the guide.
PS! You can expect some flaming as you should post these types of questions in the Q&A section
Thanks and I apologize for posting in the wrong section. Is there anyway I can move or delete it.
