I just installed Synergy. I rather like the sense 3.0 rom. Something weird tho, I changed my ringtone from the default one as well as the notification tone. Every time it rings it plays a different tone than the one one its set to ring. Also while I'm asking Noob questions, does the stock synergy rom kernel support underclocking?
How did you change the ringtone? As you may not know, you need to change the ringtone you want for notifications in the app you want to use. I.e. if you want to change the text ringtone, you need to set it in the text app itself, not through the android settings.
And for your second question, yes, you can underclock without a special kernal. I'm running Synergy RC2 and can underclock with SetCPU. You just need a special kernal to overclock, not underclock.
ah thank you. changing in the app itself did the trick!

Hey guys, real quick question:
If I download a ROM that includes Performance settings (for example, AOKP), and I download a kernel that already has its own OC/UV set up, how do I know which side is used to control the OC/UV?
Basically, I want to make sure that I'll be using the kernel the way the author set it up - and not have AOKP take over control of OC/UV/Governors/etc. How do I go about doing this?
The Performance settings will take control over the kernel preset OC/UV.
It's like saying, stock kernel use 100-1000MHz. After you use SetCPU, it will replace defaults with your assigned ones. It's the same thing.
Just don't touch performance settings, and it'll be running the preset kernel ones.
When I use tune in I go back to the home screen or browse, my phone will frequently close the app. This shouldn't happen, especially when its in the notification bar also, its supposed to run in the foreground.
I was thinking of moving it in to the system/app folder but before I do, can someone suggest a better solution?
Maybe Change the Max events per second or back ground process limits but I wouldn't know what would be a good setting, or if it has anything to do with it.
Im currently running Black Ice with samurai kernel. Its not the ROM or the kernel because I've had this problem since I've had the phone.
Hi,
First, the "max_events_per_sec" precisely "windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec" has nothing to do with your issue,it's about scrolling speed in the buid.prop.
In Developper Options Check if "Don't keep activities" is untick and if "Background process limit" is set to "Standard limit".
This rom is based on AOKP I believe,so in your "Control rom" (where there is the options for Navbar,Lockscreen,etc...) you get something like "Performance"/Free memory, check if this value is not too high, currently 80mb is good.
Last thing check your init.d scripts, there are probably that manages the ram (but let Android do it by itself). If you have scripts like "**VM","**LMK",or "**FreeMemory" even "**Tweaks",take it a look it's surely about ram.
Rename them with .bak or disable them via your Rom control then reboot ant test.
EDIT:and in Tune in,is there an option for/about settings/running in backround?
N, no Tune in settings like that, but thanks for your reply.
Is there a way to define custom vibration patterns for gmail and gtalk apps?
Like a modified stock app with added strings? I've tryed lightflow and altough it works most of the times, it sometimes misshandles notifications and i'd like to avoid it
AOKP will let you create custom vibration patterns.

Any other alternative? im currently using Codename android ROM.
You may can try tasker
Hello,
just got my HTC One V late last night, set everything up to how I wanted it (Still on stock ROM, not touching CWM or root or any custom ROMs until I'm comfortable with the device), I'm new to Sense so it's a bit different obviously. I was wondering if it's possible to mute notification sounds but not mute the ringtone as far as I can tell their linked under the 'Sound' menu so am I looking for an option that doesn't exist or am i just blind?
Thanks.
Curtis
I'm running Codename Android 3.8.0 ROM, build JZO54K, on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus and have set up profiles (home, work, sleep, etc) that are part of the ROM settings but there is no way I can see to have them change on a schedule. I have to manually change them using the profile switcher of the power menu. I did find one way to do it by using the clock alarm feature "When alarm triggers, the profile will be changed to _____", but that's kind of a pain since it sets off an alarm that has to be dismissed. Does anybody know of a way to do it on a schedule, weather by a tweak or mod of the ROM or by an app that will switch the profiles of the ROM and not by creating their own profiles inside the app. Also, If it's possible, maybe by way of a cron job setup to do this.
Thanx in advance.
A lot of people use Tasker. Personally, before I started using NFC tags, I use llama location profiles. It worked really well
