Are you S-Offed?
No, then you can't replace it with Root Explorer.
Try it via ADB with QtADB program.

my bad i have to replace the default rosie but the rosie.apk can't install as a normal app so i thought maybe there is another way. searched a little and saw that a lot of people do it with adb push but i can't have it coz my pc can't install drivers..the only way is to unpack a rom and replace it or can i do it afterwards?
Are you rooted / s-off ?
yes all of that!!usually i use android flasher to push hoot recovery stuff like this..but an .apk i don't know...
Then simply replace rosie.apk in system
/app with root explorer and rw mount
Hi !
I hate the sound when Wildfire S boots-on.
In Wildspirit ROM, I noticed that android_audio.mp3 has been renamed in android_audio.mp3.bak .The path is : \system\customize\resource\
There is no sound at boot.
My device is S-OFF and rooted with HTC Official ROM.
So I tried to rename this file with ES File Manager, but it says that it's not possible.
It's like I've got no permission to do that.
Is the file read-only ?
Is there someone who can tell me how to rename android_audio.mp3 ?
Finaly I managed to do it with Root Explorer. There is a button to switch between Read/Write Mode and Read Only Mode.
Now, no ugly sound on boot !
Hehe. I might change mine to a custom one haha.
i make the steps and after i finish new files i couldn't replace them with the old file system .. i used ES file explorer .. can anybody suggest another program for doing this step ..
You could use Root Explorer by Speed Software (search for it on market).
Once in Root Explorer, enable R/W permissions for the directory, and you should be able to copy over the file.
DONE ^_^
i tried the prog root browser and it's DONE and everything is fine ,,, thanks man 4 ur help .. keep it up .
No problem, happy to hear you've got it all fixed

first of all you cant install a SYSTEM apk.. you can just paste themm
copy the mms.apk to your sd card.. then with a file explorer (ES File explorer) paste it in this directory /system/app/mms.apk (root needed , n you wil have to mount the system as RW (ie read n write) n also on the root explorer.. this can be done from settings of Es file explorer ) or simply use an root explorer
