I was running the new cm7.1 rc1 rom, and I suddenly noticed the gps had stopped working. Just says "searching for gps", and the gps icon blinking.
I then tried to wipe all, and I flashed with the latest nightly of cm7. Still not working.
Today I tried flashing another radio and ril, still not working.
Currently I`m running Cyanogenmod 7-08202011-nightly desire with radio 32.54.00.32U_5.14.05.17
Can anyone help me?

i had been running CM7 rc1 when i noticed so i nandroided back to villain rom 0.9 where it also didnt work, i flashed starburst rom still no bluetooth
tried flashing different kernels from the villain rom i had. -- no luck,
then realised that its down to radios so i tried reflashing the latest radio and RIL, still no bluetooth.
i have now flash a radio which is a few older but still no bluetooth.
could this be to do with the data2ext which i have recently started using?
anyone know how to rectify this?
hey guys
any fix for gps in nightly builds?
i cant get it to work at alll
any help?
I've been using stock radio all throughout CM and the last time it worked for me was with build 4. I'm on build 28 or 29 now, but read somewhere in the thread that reflashing the stock radio worked for them, so I tried it. I am on a G2, whose stock radio is the 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M. I flashed the nightly, then reflashed the radio. I can't get a GPS lock in my house (I've been able to do it before), but I tried it a few miles away while at an In-And Out drive-thru and I got a lock within seconds and was able to use navigation just fine with voice.
G2 stock radio download link (verify this is your current radio if you're on stock)
Radio thread (instructions too - fastboot with the radio renamed on the root of sd card)
I'm not sure how this plays out in the past two nightlies, but this worked for me. You'd probably have to reflash the radio every nightly.
If you're on a Desire Z, I'd recommend checking what radio you're on and looking for it in that radio thread and trying to flash your current radio after the nightly.
cheers ill try it i have the europe htc desire z so ill have to find the stock radio
thanks!!!
Or you can use RC2....
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA Premium App
nah the rc2 doesnt work for me either ive tried all the nightly builds and cyanogen mod rc1 and rc2 and they dont work shame, the only trouble i have is with gps.
i have a question, my radio is this one:
Vision_RADIO_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26
MD5 Check Sum: CB45ED9CB543E433E49B8022FC17ACB9
from OTA Update Tmobile rom 1.22
however my phone is the desire z straight from htc, does it matter if the radio i flash is from the tmobile rom
thanks
When I did mess with my radios, the GPS started working but my phone stopped recognizing HSDPA, even after going back to the stock radio. I went back to 6.1.1 then restored my previous 7 nightly. The "H" symbol came back but my GPS vanished. I did try the RIL auto-matching install, but that came up with nothing.
I'll do more searching, but this is a weird situation.
Are you talking about cm7 nightlys? Cuz they fixed it on #29 I think. Well I have #30 nd it is working
Sent from my SilverBullet "HTCDesireZ running CM7"
okay ill try and flash again lol
and i know its weired lol i tried using the gps status and tools but it just keeps showing the loading circle lol
ah well, its not that much of a big deal, i spose roms are developing every day so hopefully there will be a fix soon lol
thanks
Hi,
GPS worked fine with the stock ROM. I flashed revolution 2.0.16 and 3.0 and GPS worked, but my phone kept rebooting. So I switched to Raidroid Stockify 1.84 and the GPS doesn't work. It tunrns on, but then doesn't find any satellite (in the open of course).
I tried cold boot, I tried GPS Status, nada.
Could it be the ROM not matching my country? Or should I flash a newer radio also (which one?)? Any other reason?
Regards
My phone has been working fine with CM7 since RC2. I updated (via ROM Manager) to 7.0.2 stable and now my wi-fi does not work.
My radio has not changed at all (5.11.05.27), any idea how I can fix this? I've tried rolling back to an earlier Nandroid backup when the wifi worked, but the wifi is now broken on that as well.
Also tried a full wipe and re-flash and it's still giving me an Error
A battery pull seems to have fixed it for now, very weird!
EDIT: Ignore that, just had to do a reboot and it's giving the same error.
Hi all,
I have just gone through the process of rooting my Desire HD, finally(!) and have encountered a problem with my GPS - or rather, the lack of it. I have no GPS at all, verified with GPS Tools.
Phone is currently as follows:
CodefireX Rom 4.2.2
CWM recovery (not Touch)
Bootloader is Ace PVT S-ON - *Unlocked*
Radio 26.14.04.28 MeMMC Boot
Rooted via EasyAceRoot
Have tried PacMan rom, which I love, its looks and works fantastic, and currently have CodefireX, but the GPS doesnt work on either. Im not really sure where to go now. I read flashing a new radio might work, but, Im not 100% confident with this if Im honest.
Any ideas how I might get GPS to work? I use sports tracking apps a lot, so its a very useful thing to have!
Cheers all, and apologies for my noobness!
Do you see GPS icon blinking in notification bar when start GPS Test? I have the same problem when using jellytime. GPS Test showing gps is on, but no fix and no satellites in view, blinking gps status icon also was missing .
What I do:
- turn on gps
- rebooted into recovery and made a backup
- then wiped and installed a stock rom
- booted and turned gps on again
- checked trough GPS test app, that GPS is working
- rebooted into recovery, wiped again and restored backup that I previously made
