5 minute tutorial video on how to install clk
credit to cedesmith for creating the clk bootloader
if you run into this problem - "when I right click the google drivers file and hit install it says "The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation"
then you need to do this - the problem I had was resolved by changing my windows update settings. I had to change them to always install the best drivers for my device. That got me the boot loader drivers ,android sdk and adb. after that I follewed these steps from post #10: device manager>androiddevice>update software>browse my copmputer>let me choose>have disk>browse to .inf file>click or( double click) the.inf file and see if it will install."
Cant wait till they fix the rmnet issue with clk
nice work!!!
i will add your link to my OP ....
nice video
when I right click the google drivers file and hit install it says "The INF file you selected does not support this method of installation." I'm using same OS as you.
Thanks in Advance

This is not true.....PPP is much more better....use the beta4 and you ' ll see that i'm right...some devs use beta5 that had problems and made that voice go around...then you have to find the best combination of files if you make a ROM based on cLK ....

My bootloader corrupted
Hi,
I was actually trying to put ICS on my device from GingerBread Nand.I connect device with USB and I was trying to Wipe using HD2 Nand Toolkit. As device reached 100%, it suppose to restart but in my case it hanged at 100% for 30 mins .Then I restart by removing the battery. Now when 3 color screen shows, it shows serial at the bottom but it change to usb when I connect to pc .The problem is now when I try to re-partition ,it says device is not connected.
So I thought I may be able to install windows by downloading actual rom from T-Mobile and place the file to sd card by renaming it to LEOIMG.nbh.I did it using a class 2 16Gb card.As I press both volume down key and power button, it goes right to the rainbow screen. Please help me!
Thanks for reading the issue.

i had the same problem using 64 bit windows. all you have to do is to go to device mananger and right click on android, select update driver and select from computer and then browse to clk install folder and select folder device driver and then select google usb driver folder and select update. it will update driver from there.

I hope some clever, kind soul can help me here. I just tried to backup my current rom using rom manager and now my phone can't mount my sd card or read my sim. I think it may have something to do with amonra recovery which I thought I'd failed to install but now appears when I go into recovery. Even when I mount a different sd card the phone can't read it. I think I'm well out of my depth here but am crossing everything hoping for assistance.
Okay I've read and read and read for the last 3 hours and I'm still totally clueless. The phone won't connect to pc either. Any help would be appreciated. Time for 3 hours sleep now

Thanks but I'm confused. My hboot is 0.93 and when I follow the next link it seems to suggest I need to downgrade hboot. Is this right or am I being really stupid?
Or is it this I should be following:
2. Enable the SD Card functionality. Boot your phone in FASTBOOT mode (back + power), and enter this command: 'fastboot oem enableqxdm 0' . This will re-enable your SD card.
If so, I don't understand how to enter any command here. There is no option to enter anything. Once again any replies would be very welcome
You have to install Android SDK in order to issue those commands. http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
Okay thanks for your patience. I'll do that next. Don't leave me

That's windows for you. You do have a 32 bit system, right ? Try rebooting your PC. You have installed it in the default location c:\Program Files\blabla..

Try uninstalling SDK and Java, reinstall Java and after that SDK.
will do. As an interesting sidenote my phone won't charge from mains only via usb connection and even that's sporadic

Try running it as "administrator".
You can use the ZIP version , unzip it , then dowload the tools using the manager , or download only the tools package
little trick :
If you want to use the installer anyway , hit the "back" button when you get the java error , then next again . The error should vanish. worked for me

It seems to be downloading a whole bunch SDK platforms quite slowly. Does that sound right? Thanks again btw
well... no...
You just need the tools , not the whole developpement platform.
Just select the SDK tool in the package window
Ive tried to s-off my Wildfire like 3 times. The first one i failed cz i chose HBOOT 1.01.0001. The second one it was stucked on Acquiring Root <method 1> then i waited, then it said click anything to exit. after that my third times, it doesnt detect my handset.
Does it mean my WF already s-off or what?
Thanks a lot to who has answered my question
You can check the HBOOT version by pressing Vol - and power when turning it on.
i already know its 1.01.0002
But then when i tried to do it again, the alpharevx doesnt detect my phone. it only said : Android
Then it wanted i put the serial
nvm, it detects now. But it stucks when it says Thank you for participating

No. It detects it almost immediately. Possible solutions:
- Make sure USB Debugging is On, as already said above
- Redownload the AlphaRev X Executable file
- Make sure Drivers are installed and working properly. There are 2 aspects to this:
1) Install HTC Sync, and, Uninstall it. The ADB Drivers will be installed
2) The HBoot Drivers are next. Guide to install that is here:

Its an example. The actual file will be the one you downloaded. (Theres a link in the first line of that guide called Unrevoked Modified USB Driver)

Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
There are two possible solutions there again. But, before that, make sure you have entered the right details (Right Serial Number (HT0....), Right HBoot Version, Right Device Model).
Once you are sure these are correct:
- Solution 1 - Copy the beta key in your clipboard from the website, then right click the title bar of the AlphaRevX Application, Click Properties, then check mark Quick Edit Mode. Then Right click anywhere inside the window, it will paste the key.
- Solution 2 - Redownload the AlphaRevX Application from the website and retry.
EDIT: Ninja'ed, Oh well.
lol sory mymistake... actually i really put the wrong beta key...
now that i hve S-OFF myphone what should i do now... sorry i really dont know anything..
Two ways again:
1) Follow this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130044
2) Use Fastboot (Which I used)
- Download Android SDK - http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
- Download ClockworkMod Recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1014498
- Extract the Recovery.img file from the 2nd link, and place it in your SDK Setup Path / Tools (eg: C:/android-sdk-windows/tools)
- Open a Command Window (cmd)
- Browse to the tools folder in this Command Window
- Type the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- It will install ClockworkMod Recovery, you are done.
Then, simply follow Part 3 of this guide to install Custom ROMs and Stuff, irrespective of what you followed above.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824396
i hve download the sdk there are 2 package android-sdk_r11-windows.zip and installer_r11-windows.exe..
so which one should i run??
i dont understand this part [- Extract the Recovery.img file from the 2nd link, and place it in your SDK Setup Path / Tools (eg: C:/android-sdk-windows/tools)]

EXE File.
That post simply means, that when you have completed installing your SDK, then, there will be a folder called "Tools" at your install location. Copy Paste the Recovery.img file to the Tools folder.
ok now i hve copy the recovery.img into tools
then open cmd right?? now what??

Setup is not compatible with 64 bit win 7 ultimate
But all you need to do is:
0. Extract the Zip file to any folder
1. Goto Device manager
2. Right click the s1bootdownload icon (which will have an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle)
3. Click update driver
4. Use manual install from computer option
5. select the folder where you extracted the zip file
6. Hit ok

Okay, first of all did you downloaded the package given in the guide ?
Once you download it, extract it then you will have two folders, One named as Kingroot and the other named Nokia X USB drivers
and then download the adt bundle from Google
Here's the Link in case you didn't get the adt bundle - DOWNLOAD
Extract it, you will have 2 folders and an Application
Open the Application named SDK Manager
Then from the packages, select and install Platform tools
Once, you installed platform tools, navigate to SDK folder > then Platform-tools folder
Now, in the Platform tools folder, Right click anywhere while holding shift
Click on Open Command Window here
Then run this command : adb devices
See if your device get's listed
If it doesn't get listed, then Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Device Manager
Plug-in your Nokia X
With MTP selected in your mobile
Now, you will have Nokia X device listed in the Device Manager
Right Click on it, then click on Update driver
Browse file for USB driver manually
Select ADB driver folder from the package you downloaded from the guide on forum.xda-developers.com (i.e this - NokiaX USB Drivers\nokia\usb_driver and Click OK
Install the drivers
Then again navigate to sdk> platform tools
Then again Open command Window there
Run the command adb devices again
And see if your Nokia X gets listed, the device should be c268 something like that
Once you done this all, Open Kingroot folder
Disconnect and connect your Nokia X
Kingroot app should detect it in few mins
Then follow the on-screen instructions
After the rooting process, your Nokia X re-boots and the SuperSU asks for permission, Grant it. Voila !! You are done now. You may disconnect your Nokia X now and enjoy the Rooted the Nokia X
9449295 1494
If your devices is not listed after after step 23 , then do the following -
a) Edit the file C:\Users\<user>\.android\adb_usb.ini and add line
0x0421
b) adb kill-server
c) adb start-server
d) adb devices
it says "Root failed need adb" after click on root in kingoroot app

Does it just says root failed ? Maybe you should start the rooting process from the beginning of the tutorial (or) maybe your device is still on the previous Software version (i.e v10.0.3), make a check and do update your device if it's the previous update on your device and then try again rooting your device using this tutorial.

No. You will have to root again once you update.
[FIX] Updated ADB Drivers for Nokia Devices
It was quite sad that Nokia Devs forgot to update the adb drivers after the update. The update also updated some configurations within adb and fastboot and as the drivers didn't have these updated configurations, they refused to be installed. But I'm still breathing so I made it happen.
Procedure:
1. Download Latest ADB Drivers from below and extract it's contents on to your desktop (or anywhere you like).
2. Connect your Nokia X/XL with USB Debugging On. (Settings-->USB Debugging).
3. Windows 8 users, you need to follow this guide to turn off signature verification. This is necessary as I cannot sign the drivers. Windows 7 users also have to do this by following this guide.
4. For Windows 7: Press Start and in search box, type "Device Manager" and open it.
For Windows 8: Use Search to find "Device Manager" and open it.
5. Now, under other device, right click the Nokia X with yellow triangle and choose "Update Driver".
6. Browse to the Nokia X Updated USB Drivers folder in the zip package. And let it install.
7. After some time, it will install and Nokia X ADB Composite drivers will be installed.
8. Do it for the other Nokia X with yellow triangle as well.
9. Done.
Downloads:
- Nokia ADB Drivers 13.9.14 : Added missing compatibility.
Configuring ADB:
Just copy the adb_usb.ini file found in the package to C:/Users/<Your username>/.android and replace the previous one (if any). Done!
Enjoy and now, you can use Nokia X Manager and flasher. Cheers.
