Hello!
I orginally rooted my HTC Desire 2.3 with revolutionary. I run the orginal Desire RUU RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.1_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121684.
But now it seems like the phone is bricked or something. My phone is booting, but it stops on the "HTC startup screen". When trying to access recovery i just get the HTC startup screen to.
Any solution of what to do?
Thanks.
Best regards from
Jonathan Ibsen
okay there are two situations that may have happened to you:
1.The recovery was flashed badly so you can't boot into recovery but it doesn't make the phone to not boot.. but anyway it can be solved by flashing a custom recovery.. I recommend you to choose ClockworkMod.. 100000000 instructions over the net how to do that.. just google : flash the clockworkmod recovery manually
2.the s-off process may have breaked your hboot tables.. so you can't boot.. you can solve it by flashing a custom Hboot table. but you have to be able to boot into fastboot.. it can be down by holding down the vol down key alongside the power button.. so the phone will boot into Fastboot USB.. so connect your usb then download a custom HBoot table from Alpharev.nl and flash it by using fastboot console.. : the command : "fastboot flash hboot xxxx.img" while replacing the xxxx with your image name...
Thanks for the help. I tried both, now i have clockworkmod installed again. But my phone is still not able to boot, i tried to use a nandroid backup, and also tried to install some roms. But the phone dont go longer than to the HTC boot screen.
If USB briked try using AndroidFlasher1.8.0 to fix (click File and then USB brick fix) and boot in fastboot mode (back+power) to install recovery image

USB brick is not the problem..
First of all, you should use the latest htc ruu:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
Now to your problem: You s-offed your phone with revolutionary. So your hboot version get updated. As far as I know, to a version which is protected against overwriting by ruu. You need to flash hboot downgrader in fastboot from alpharev site first:
http://alpharev.nl - don't forget to check md5sum.
If you need a guide for fastboot, see my sig.
After you flashed hboot downgrader, you can flash ruu. The same problem was discussed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1224670
then install official ru and start the s-off from scratch. after that install recovery with android flasher and install a custom rooted rom and youll be fine
Thanks, it worked! Great to have you guys.

Hi everyone. I'm having some problems with my Recovery which I can't seem to figure out:
I tried to mod my phone with CM6.1 the other day using ROM Manager. ROM downloaded and started to install, no problems. When it tried to boot up again, it got stuck in a loop at the CM loading screen. When I tried to reboot in to Clockword Mod Recovery, all I got was a picture of a phone with a triangle (can't remember which colour - think it was green). Eventually I realised that was a stock recovery and managed to get my phone restored to my backup but I can't seem to get my recovery to go to anything but the stock one. Rom Manager reports Clockwork Recovery reports ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7 installed and I've tried using Rom Manager, Android Commander and UnrEVOked to flash ClockworkMod and Amon-Ra and nothing works - I'm still at the built-in recovery.
Now, If I boot in to recovery, I get the red triangle and a message on screen stating "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command".
If I do use the built-in recovery to flash ClockworkMod as an update.zip, ClockworkMod launches but when I reboot, it's gone again and I'm back to stock.
Any ideas?
Thank you!
"Android Commander and UnrEVOked to flash ClockworkMod and Amon-Ra and nothing works" make sure youre trying to flash a .img file
"Clockwork Recovery reports ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7 installed" that because the recovery (.zip) is saved on the SDCARD. When booting Recovery from ROM Manager, youre fake-flashing the file (.zip)
"If I do use the built-in recovery to flash ClockworkMod as an update.zip, ClockworkMod launches but when I reboot, it's gone again and I'm back to stock." thats fake-flashing
what HBOOT are you on??
EDIT: You should S-OFF your Desire "http://alpharev.nl/".
WARNING: When using S-OFF your flashing a custom HBOOT. If that goes wrong, it may brick your Desire. If you use S-OFF, then you can flash a permanent recovery using fastboot
Thanks Chris. Any idea why it would have reverted though? I used to have a permanent version of ClockworkMod until the other week
Edit: HBOOT just says 0.80.0000 and has 3 androids on skateboards

Go back to stock, download the original ruu for you phone. After that try rooting again.
Rats - had a feeling that may be the answer. Think I'll be able to restore a backup?

I fake-flash all the time. I once messed up a ROM's installation and got stuck because it messed up the recovery too.
The loop startup is probably caused by older cache from your previous ROM. Just boot up recovery again, clear cache and restore factory settings and then flash your CM again. Should do the trick.

Flashed my HBOOT with AlphaRev - those guys are brilliant, coding that!
Thank you for your help!
Bingo!
Think I've nailed it now!
I used Fastboot Commander [v.1.0] to flash Amon-RA which took and stayed!
To confirm: I installed AlphaRev bootloader to S-OFF then Fastboot Commander to flash Amon-RA. Hopefully, I'll now be able to flash Clockwork Recovery again (as I use Rom Manager) and be back up and running!
Think I may skip CM6.1...
hey everyone, i have an sim free desire HD that was rooted and s-off and has been running like that for a while. recently i tried to access clockwork mod to try and flash a new rom but when i did so the recovery does not load. Its just stuck on the htc splash screen, it doesnt even say quietly brilliant. The phone still works but i cannot access recovery. I tried the following procedure in fastboot to re flash the recovery
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recoveryCWM.img
fastboot reboot
after doing this it still has not worked. Any suggestions or a certain fix would be brilliant.
Thanks
You can put the PD98IMG.zip from my downgrade post to your SD card and reboot to bootloader, it will flash you the 1.32 stock ROM and you can start from a clean table.
use an older version of recovery

I had the same problem, with clockwork 3.0.0.6 ... I then flashed 3.0.0.5 (see the bottom of the Rom manager Menu that proposes you to use former recovery roms). I could solve my problem that way.
Today I did S-OFF with AlphaRev 1.8 on my HTC Desire.
All sems okay but then I would to boot my phone but it just boots into FASTBOOT. And if I press reboot it boots again into FASTBOOT so I cant boot my Desire!
What should I do?
In the FASTBOOT main stand that I have "BRAVO PVT3 SHIP S-OFF".
I use CyanogenMod 7 RC1.
Does recovery not work at all or is it just booting in to fastboot?
If recovery works you need to restore a nandroid or reflash your rom.
If recovery doesn't work flash a recovery image via fastboot and then flash a rom.
@TheGhost1233
Thank you very much for your fast help!
I resored my NAND backup and now it works fine again. But what did I made wrong that my phone doesn't work?
I followed the Tutorial from pocketpc (I can't post links because I'm new here). My Desire was rooted with unREVoked before.
This is what I did before I have this problem with my 1X.
1. Unlocked using htcdev.com
2. Installed CWM from here.
3. SuperWipe.
4. I went back to Hboot after SuperWipe instead of flashing rom.
5. I went back to recovery but my phone will shut down right after HTC logo and reboot by itself and it will just stuck there.
Could anyone help me please? What did I do wrong?

You didn't flash another ROM after the Super Wipe that's what!!
You'll need to flash your RUU to go back to stock and start again
Ok I will help you out but you need to be more careful.
Also I would recommend against using superwipe right now.
That's my personal opinion....
get into fastboot
Connect USB
from your pc in fastboot directory type:
fastboot erase cache
fastboot reboot bootloader
now get into recovery and flash the Rom..
thank you.
I was scared and did factory reset from hboot. flashed CWM again and I can go into recovery mode now but obviously there's no rom to flash in my phone now.
downloaded Asia WWE RUU. it can't find my phone after the part when I turned on the phone to connect to pc because it's stuck in htc logo?
I'm in trouble now.
1. Boot into HBOOT, then select FASTBOOT from the menu.
2. Use the fastboot commands to flash the stock recovery (get it from the CWM thread)
3. Use the fastboot commands to relock the bootloader
4. Flash the RUU for your phone
Should get you back to stock
1) Flash stock recovery:
Grab it from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1579797
Then Boot in bootloader >> Fastboot and issue the following command (assuming that the offical recovery is named recovery.img): fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
2) Relock Bootloader:
Boot in bootloader >> Fastboot and issue the following command: fastboot oem lock
3) Find and run/flash the RUU for your device, find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1543604

THANK YOU!!!!
YES!!!! ITS OKIE NOW!!!! Sorry for being such a nubcake. I never encounter a problem like this. THANK YOU!
I have successfully unlocked the bootloader. I flashed the cwm recovery by fastboot with the proper command and the command executed fine. I also erased the cache with fastboot. But when I select recovery from the hboot menu it gets stuck on to screen with the HTC logo with following text in red "this build is for development purposes only do not distribute outside of htc without written permission". I cannot access the cwm menu.
I tried the twrp recovery too but no avail. The same screen comes up.
I searched a bit and found that some have faced the same issue with HTC ONE X and had their problem solved by flashing an interim unofficial cwm built for their device. But I can't find any such interim cwm recovery for HTC ONE V.
Please help.

fastboot flash recovery nameoftherecovery.img
In my case it was fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Nothing wrong on my side. This is not my first time.
And the commands executed without any error.
I even relocked the bootloader and unlocked it again. But, still the problem persists.

If you take a ruu and remove the Rom.zip and from that take the recovery.img and flash that, does the phone boot into the stock recovery?
