Hi guys so i got my phone it came with the ota update. i rooted the phone. then when i was trying out roms. i acedently said yes to the PC36img file.... and now when i try to access recovery i dont get a menu all i see is a picture of the phone and red arrows....
can anyone help me? i dont know if i need to re root cuz i still have super user inside adb :O
thanks in advance!!
just redo the part of your rooting guide where you flash a custom recovery. When you updated with the pc36img it replaced your recovery most likely...
...and hope you don't get your heart ripped out for posting this in the dev section lol

Hi all,
One of my friends, has flashed lots of rom, but he cam't use them! every time he flash a new rom, after the setup, when the phone reboots, it goes in boot mode with a screen similar to this one:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
the only way is to connect the usb-cable to the phone (that's allows him to enter into recovery) so through recovery he finally can reboot it!
the problem appears with all the roms, except "virtous rom v2.0"
thankks for the support!
p.s. he can also go in bootloader mode.....
Probably has Fake S-OFF, if I can find the thread on how to get True S-OFF on I'll edit this post to link it.
Found it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26359408&postcount=9
PS: I used to have that same radio up til about 2 weeks ago, I upgraded to the .19 radio so I could use the EliteMod ICS rom (it also seems to be nicer on the battery with the new .19 radio).

i want to update to fix the radio issues
please note that my device is S-OFF
So what's the issue ?
Just put the stock recovery and do the update.
You will not lose S-Off

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
first where can i found the stock recovery ?
second since this will not make me lose S-OFF will it wipe my data ?
third i do need to root the phone again right ?
finally is this update worth updating to ?
I had my AT&T HTC One M8 on the Google Play Edition RUU for a while and decided to switch back to Sense using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2733523
However, I can't figure out how to get a new operating system back on there. I flashed some firmware and after a few issues with the phone not going into custom recovery mode (solved by using a different firmware version), I got TWRP to work. I still can't get an actual OS on there, though.
Trying to boot the phone to system just opens recovery and I would normally try to install a ROM via TWRP but any time I try to put files on the phone, I get an error like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I'm clearly not an expert with this stuff. I just want to get my phone back to the way it was when I got it. Anyone have any ideas?
Well, I should start with that this is my gf's phone and I've installed LinageOS quite a while ago. She's saying that she was installing a weekly update when the phone crashed and after that it started to stay on the boot window for hours. When I tried to manually update the phone via TWRP it showed this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Tried some Youtube guides, as changing from EXT 4 to EXT 2 and back again, repairing the file system, but it just says the same thing all the time. Any ideas how to fix that? Thanks in advance!
I'm not very experienced in that (only installed a few ROMs to a few different phones), so it would be great to get some step-by-step guide, so I don't mess something up <3
Flash back to stock and start over. If the ruu can't fix it then nothing will.
