Hi guys. I tried searching the forums for this, but I kind of failed at finding things that were relevant.
I'm thinking about beginning some graphical things for Android as a side hobby. I came out with some awesome interface ideas that I think some of the community would enjoy!
So... I was wondering, is it possible to create 2x1 or 3x1 icons? Thanks to anyone that answers.

Can anybody point me in the direction of making my own homescreen? I am a C++/C/C#/Php/Html/Js/Perl/Sql developer, so programming is not an issue. But a nice guide or something, or a starting point i can use to start playing around will be helpful. All the homescreens I have used fall short of what I want...

Do you need a custom layout or different items in the view? Basically the layout is in a little XML file where as the items are handled through plugins.

There are some great themes out there, but I find myself liking bits and pieces of different themes, sometime you can just push a certain clock or whatever, but somethings are more in depth. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of theme creation how to's. I don't want to be creating .png's or anything like that, I just want to be able to take apart certain theme's, then mash them back together into my own frankenstein theme, then flashing it to my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your goal is obviously very achievable but I would suggest you not bite off too much right off.
Start with something simple, changing a single image or something just to learn the process.
Hello im new to the forum but have used it many times I am a rom addict. I am experienced in programming in a few languages including java I have not dabbled in android yet. I need help or direction to start creating custom roms. If there are tutorials im missing or reading/videos I have not come across please let me know I have many ideas and wish to implement them. Thanks for your help.
I am more interested in designing dialers, drop down menu graphics, custom icons, boot up and down graphics, and customizing all colors within a rom/fonts.

I seen the videos but im not interested in making programs xml/java I already know just want to edit current things on roms Im more into graphics and just want to make my phone with my designs.

Hey guys & girls. I'm new here. I stumbled upon this forum while googling an analog clock for my Galaxy S3. I can't seem to find one anywhere that's really worth a crap. I saw a post by Franwella on some clocks they created that look fantastic. I'm really looking for something more on the skeleton style with all the gears exposed and moving as well as a tourbillon movement. I don't know if anyone here has done that and if this is a repost, please let me know. I tried to do a forum search and couldn't find anything in the Galaxy S3 forum.

Thanks for the link. I'm really looking for an animated one for a live wallpaper. I have been looking for one that has the gears and tourbillon movements animated, but I can't find one. There is one called Analog Swiss Watches, but I don't know if the gears and everything move. Then I was thinking about recruiting my friend who does computer programming to help me create one. What is the best Live Wallpaper creator out there for this kind of thing?

So I have noticed that the themes for the s6 edge are a bit...mediocre. Now I am by no means an expert, but from what I know the software used to create the themes is nothing difficult. For this reason, and this reason alone, I have attempted to become a developer. However, in order to apply I need to submit images of my previous work [of which I have none]. Does anyone have any advice or any suggestions on what I could do to create something for them?

I would not even want to start giving suggestions about how to become a "themer" here in xda.
But I can tell you one thing for sure, you are absolutely right about the s6 edge+ and the note 5
themes being a bit mediocre.
The theme store's themes are more or less nothing more than fancy backgrounds and wallpapers.
The icons in those themes have been more or simply re-colored foregrounds with re-colored & different colored backgrounds.
If you want to see what the themes used to look like here in xda before these new phones came out,
check out the BobCatRom themes.
Those themes are not simply different colored icon make-overs with fancy cartoon like wallpapers & backgrounds.

I will give you some advice......Good luck getting approved by Sammy! I myself haven't applied yet because I don't have the time but a few themer friends of mine have gotten denied more than once by them when submitting everything that they require. So as of now it looks like they just want peeps from Hong Kong or China dropping those ugly ass themes I guess
