I've been playing with mine since Saturday now and have started to notice some issues.
1. Albums in the music player are not listed correctly. If i have an album by various artists it shows as a different album for each artist. My hero never used to do this.
2. When i charge the battery sometime it stops at around 90% and wont charge anymore until i unplug and plug it back in.
3. Friend stream is set to update every 2 hours but doesn't seem to. And i got no notifications from the Facebook app unless i manually refresh it.
Over all I'm please with the Desire, but I'm starting to think that maybe it was released too early, before all the bugs where ironed out.
Is anyone else having any of these issues?
Why do you think HTC released this phone only at T-mobile?
It's because they needed normal users to find out issues
One album for each artist sounds like you have a different "Album artist" on each track. Windows Media Center etc also shows it as different albums if the album artists are different, even though Album name is the same. I'm guessing that if you keep the "Artist"-tag as it is, and rename the "Album Artist"-tag to "Various Artists" or something like that using a tag editor, it will appear as one album.
I don't have a Desire yet, so can't confirm it, but I recently did a big job of fixing my entire music catalog to avoid this problem.
The problem with the Facebook app is a pain in the arse, it doesn't update whatever you set it too. Had the same problem on the Hero, so I assume it's the app itself.
Plus Friendstream is overated and lacks alot of features.
Can't wait to root and remove all of that crap, can't even uninstall the Facebook app.

What we mean by Facebook updates, is where it's suppose to notify you at the top of the screen...and it doesn't.
I HATE that there is no dedicated camera shutter button coz I'm vain and all so if I want to take a pic of myself sometimes I'll end up touching the screen when trying to press the trackball etc! It's damn hard holding the lower part of the phone where the trackpad is and press it if you wanna take pic of yourself lol

It does update for me. I get the facebook logo kinda like an F with an envelope behind it.

I don't think so.. I'm not even sure what it means tbh and I changed my wallpaper to this reddish one so I wouldn't be able to tell if it was pinkish either way lol

not sure wither its normal for AMOLED or not, but the OP saw it as an issue, so was wondering wither its his device fault or his eye is just more sensitive to take the "pink-ish-ness" of the screen

Right, I changed my wallpaper to this cloud-ish one and nope, no pinkish hue (normal brightness). Tried to max brightness, still no pinkish hue

Don't be shy. If people are helping you on here don't they deserve to see what you look like aswell?
So, if you have only 2 pages on your main screen on the HOX, and use wallpapers like these, you'll see that each word will fit each screen (so, on screen 1 you'll have the word "FAVS", and on the 2nd screen you'll have "HOME").
Is there any way to do this for 3 pages? I wanted a "FAVS", "GAMES" and "HOME" wallpaper, but every way I put it, the words keep overlapping to other pages (for instance, in the middle "GAMES" page, you would see the S from "FAVS").

Make it 4, then. How would I do it? Without having the words overlap the other pages, what would the resolution and disposition of the words be?
Is this actually do-able?
You could try to make a widget on every page you need which says "favs" or whatever using uccw.
That way the wallpaper would onmy be a background.

Heh I thought of that just as I refreshed the page to read your comment.
But still, would be nice to be able to do stuff like that in the wallpaper.
For now I'll stick with the widgets then, but if someone actually knows how to do a wallpaper with any number of pages (except 2, that one's easy) that don't overlap each other, please share!

So I just tried that, and that's EXACTLY what I wanted. Thing is, it's laggy when moving between pages.
I've even changed the "Maximum Memory Usage" setting to "Unlimited", to no avail.
Any non-laggy alternatives?

sorry bud thats the only thing that does that wich i know of, really not too sure how to make it stop lagging...perhaps kill some other processes you have running?

Changed the animation to "Crossfade", not exactly what I wanted but looks okay.
Anwyay, if anyone has any other suggestions, I'm stil open.

Ohh I really love to find a mod that do this!
I modified the one in Tweaked to do just that - it only expands into chrome though (removed the stock browser). I used the modified expandable one that is floating around as a base, but I also adjusted a few things so that it retained the original stock dimensions and filled a bit more of the screen when expanded.
It's a smali edit - you need to replace the call to the stock browser with a call to Chrome instead.

Sure, that's what I did - I in fact modified it a bit further so that it will look for chrome first, and if that isn't found it'll fall back on the stock browser. You can pull it from tweaked, or if you'd like I could upload a flashable zip.

Right now it looks for chrome first and will always use that if its there. If it isn't then stock (and in theory this could be either TW or AOSP) browser gets called. I suppose I could work in other browsers now that I know where it all goes down. Was there another you were thinking of?

Nope - do you have Chrome installed? All this mod really does (beyond the expandable bit, and being able to choose it from the app drawer) is set it so when you want to have the popup browser content go into a "full" browser it will look to do so first with chrome, and if that's not there then it'll look for the stock browser. Is it not doing that for you?

Yep, Chrome is installed! I flashed it through TRWP, maybe that has something to do with it?
Oh, when I click from a link, I got the regular sammy's pop up browser not Chrome browser.

Right - this is a modded version of sammy's popup browser. When you are in the popup browser there is an arrow that points up and to the left in the left corner. If you click on that, it takes whatever you are viewing in the popup browser and throws it into a "full" browser. This mod looks to throw it into chrome first, then the stock browser if chrome isn't around.

Yep, I clicked that left arrow, and it went straight to FULL Chrome browser. After that pop up is gone?

Not when you expand into the full browser. But the button up on the right will make the pop up window bigger.
Ok, so I just got the HTC One V and I really like it - except for when browsing the internet.
I've tried stock browser, dolphin and chrome, but they all have the same issues:
1) When zooming any text will blur stay that way for 2-4 seconds.
2) When scrolling down or up somewhat fast pages won't show for a few seconds - all I'll see is big white and grey squares.
3) Zooming and dragging seems pretty unresponsive.
The phone is up to date software wise and I'm running complete stock Android.
Is this just the way it is, or can it be fixed? I'm comparing to a HTC Desire which was my old phone, and it's far inferior on the One V - but only when browsing

yea Browsing is an issue on the stock ROM
dont think it can be fixed

Yeah this was a problem on stock...did u try opera browser....??
Otherwise its difficult to fix this prob on stock

I'm trying opera right now and it's better, but still not very good.
But is it fixable on custom roms?
I plan on rooting anyway, but I won't bother if this issue exists on custom roms as well. Too much of a deal breaker.
How is it on the the custom rom you're using sera??

What about the rom in your signature? That's not the one you mentioned - I take it the one from the sig isn't stable and has a working camera?

Well a working camera/camcorder is an absolute must for me, so I'll have to wait for 4.2, but that's ok.
I'll look around and see if I can't find that rom you mentioned and try it out. If it works that would really be excellent

Hmm ok, so I tried Opera - last one I tried was Opera Mini - and it works really well. No blurry at all, so that's nice...I still just can't abide the fact that I can't use Dolphin or Chrome.
What's your experience Seraz, do other browsers than Opera work well on that rom of yours? It'd be awesome if I could get Chrome or Dolphin working - I would really hate being forced into using Opera.

I use the Rom on my signature and browsing is really ok if u don't have many apps running the Rom I use is free from all bugs everything works in an awesome way must try....
and I use only stock browser..never felt a need to change it (the Rom also has chrome pre installed)

You should flash a custom Rom to improve your overall all performance or go to settings>developer options select force gpu rendering it should help out

Tried the GPU rendering aswell, but didn't really make a noticable difference.
I'm getting rid of the HTC One V, giving the HTC Desire to my mom and buying a HTC One X for myself. That should solve it.
I've manually upgraded to the latest ROM, but for some reason, the "Crop-me-in" feature in the camera doesn't appear to be there?
I haven't found any posts on the interwebs about this and wondered if it was a carrier detected option (I'm on an NVNO) or if it just didn't ship/was pulled?
In the camera, from the demo's I saw, you click on the 4 small circles in the square and it should be an option there- but I only have 5 options and none of them are "Crop-me-in".
Any one else seeing this?
I was missing that feature too. I got it yesterday when camera app updated. It's fun to play with, though it's still a beta so it needs some polishing.

BUT, after I take the picture, it doesn't seem to actually merge the images (just has the front facing pic in the corner of the back facing pic)... Pretty useless.

The HTC camera app in the play store does not appear in my phone. But if I click a link direct to the HTC camera app, it says its not compatible? Why is there an error? Should I update my gallery? I have not updated the HTC gallery because it removes the Zoe features built in . please help
