Does anyone else experience this! My xperia arc constantly force closes messaging extension. Even if im not in messages.
Sent from my LT15i using XDA App
Along with the above mentioned problem I also cannot delete the contacts that ive sent or received messages from. I can delete the messages so what I end up with is a list of empty messages and just a bunch of names. Obviously the messaging app has bugs of some sort. It I send a message it Force Closes, any thoughts, anyone....

What you did caused this issue?
May be try repairing the firmware. (Warning: Repairing the firmware will wipe your data. Please proceed only if you have backup or you don't need your data).
Im not sure what I could have done to cause that. My husband has the same phone and his messaging app does exactly the same.

At this stage I can only advise to try repairing the firmware. Like I mentioned before, try backing up your important data before attempting to repair.
Go to Sony Ericsson website and download SEUS (Sony Ericsson Update Service), install it in your PC and follow the instructions on the application.

is that the only alternative solution? i was wondering if a software would do and repair it, since software also possible damaged it. i was hoping you guys could help me before i sent it back. any way thanks for your help.
Try contacting Jinx13 http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=4002805
He uses a remote method to unlock bootloaders and such for xperia phones. I've heard this method can also be used to unbrick phones, which is most likely what you've done.
PM him, or get his email off his profile. I may be wrong, but it's worth a shot.
thanks, Got it working though....I used S1tool with semc patch and did the ground to test point thingy. after a few tries... the network just showed up. I can now use the simcard.

Hi,
The smartwatch used to work perfectly on GB on Sony arc s, but
after the updating to ICS it does not work.
I downloaded the smartwatch app from store and connected with the watch and i see the list of apps like:
messaging
download it and install
email
download it and install
calendar reminder
download it and install
...
After the downloading it is still the same and does not work.
the watch says:
No applications active in Smartwatch
I have reset everything several times but this is the same...
The new events app can't switch on.... :S
Any Idea?
Thanks a lot in advance
it works on my xperia arc s with official stock ICS 4.0.3 and my smartwatch everything works and with bluetooth earpeiece at the same time [=

thanks,
what are the version of your liveware and smartwatch apps?
Same problem, xperia ray with official stock ICS 4.0.3. Liveware manager version 3.2.7, if i try to upgrade to 3.2.8 I get the following error:
"Package file was not signed correctly. You will need to remove and reinstall the application to resolve this error."
Do you have smartwatch? Are u in the UK?
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
Yes, I have the smartwatch. I'm Italian.
What are the version of your liveware? 3.2.7 or 3.2.8?
And the watch is working for you?
I have the x.x.7 liveware and there is an update available on market which is the x.x.8 but I can't update it because of the error message what I have posted...
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
No, I have your same problem
So you can't use your watch can you?
Sent from my LT18i using XDA
I've always written on the screen "No applications active in Smartwatch"
yes, totally the same for me...
I hope the updating is on the way....
The reply of the Sony chat support:
"This issue is currently being investigated as it seems to be affecting a number of users at the moment. Unfortunately there is no way to overcome this currently but we should have a resolution in the near future."
I solved!!!!
The problem is the version of the liveware manager, 3.2.7 does not work.
I downloaded the 3.2.8 apk, replaced in system/app with rootexplorer (the smartphone must be root), rebooted and installed the new apk 3.2.8.
Very good, thank for sharing this info. Today I try to go to the Sony repair center and I'll inform you guys...

Has anyone tried to install the smart dialer from Xperia S? I had it on my X10 and loved it.
What's the smart dialer? I Have an Xperia S but am not sure what you're referring to.
Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk 2
This would be great. I'm still very salty this doesn't work stock. So used to being able to just open phone and start dialing and have it auto populate a contact as u type.
Sent from my LT28at using xda app-developers app
Ah okay now I get what you mean. Once we get root we would probably be able to copy the dialer from the XS but as it is now we can't change the system apps without root.
I really enjoyed the xperia s dialer on my x10, kinda dumb that sony didn't include this with the ion. It's funny how the dialer also made the contact's list irrelevant since I could just type out the name on the dialer instead rather then going through the contact list
I was able to download the 2 apks (smartsearch and the dialer) and just overwrite the current phone app. no problems so far....
Uhm how did u overwrite system apps? And please share lol.

I just saved the apks to my sd card and clicked install (through androzip) and it asked if I wanted to replace the already existing phone app. I clicked yes and now I'm using the smart dialer

For most Play Store errors I do this: uninstall update, then let it update again. Works for me.
Here are some methods you can try (not 100% guarantee working)
1. Reinstall Play Store
2. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. Clear Play Store data
Did all of that, but still...meh..:banghead:

He means like have you modified any "values" in build.prop or anywhere else and also check and see if your DPI is at 240 as this will also cause issues

Wipe Cache and Data
Also find Google Play and clear it's cache and data then reboot.

Must be the provider's fault
Because DNS is simply the only reason why this would happen on data connection and your hosts are obviously not blocking Google (why would someone even do that lol)

You can download flashtool and flash the 2.3.3 ftf. There's a 2.3.4 ftf as well but google sync is broken. If you don't care about gsync then go with it. Seqrch flashtool for 2011 xperia devices on here or on google. Then go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184897 and look under ftfs for the one you want. Then shut down your phone hold the back button and plug in tge usb to cpu. Click on flash (af lightning bolt symbol in top left and choose the ftf. WARNING:THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA AND SINCE YOU DONT WANT TO ROOT YOU CANT BACK THEM UP WITH TITANIUM BACKUP.

I think you mean PC because every PC and smartphone needs a CPU to run....anyways if you don't have a PC your probably Sol unless your on froyo or low gingerbread then apps like z4root and ginger break may be able to root your phone
