I have used the gfree a while back and for the life of me i cant remember where i found the guide that i followed or which eng HBOOT the guide told me to install... the one I have on my phone now has the following info:

Any help appreciated
First you need to root using unrevoked, when that is successful you can use alpharev.
Also make sure you READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. It's all there.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
that is what i tried
Use unrevoked, not unrevoked forever.
used unrevoked 3
DId you installed The hboot drivers correctly?
http://unrevoked.com/rootwiki/doku.php/public/windows_hboot_driver_install
Try this version of unrevoked 3:
http://downloads.unrevoked.com/recovery/3.21/reflash_package.exe
Is USB-Debug-Mode on while trying to root your Desire with unrevoked?
Do you have set the usb-connection-mode on "only charge" and "never ask"?
Do you try to root with windows or linux?
For windows: uninstalled HTC Sync (not the Drivers) and rebooted your computer after this?
Still have problems? Try to root with superoneclick:

Hello. I have a Desire Z with stock Gingerbread, but for some reasons, it is S-OFF without root. Here is my HBOOT data:
VISION PVT SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-0.85.0013
MICROP-0425

Now, if I want to root my phone, what shoud I do?
follow this guide
do the 'Gaining Temp Root' and 'Temp-Rooting to Backup' sections, seeing as you are S-OFF changes will stick.

Thank you But I am confused about my situation, now am I have a real s-off or something different? And when I do the things you said in the downgrading guide, will my phone be fully rooted? Can you inform me a little bit please?

can i downgrade hboot
can i do s off?
thanks a lot
with goldcard flash RUU and start rooting process again...
thanks for the help but unfortunately it does not work :-(
by saying goldcard rru flash, you mean to create an goldcard
and with the card inside, to install the official rru.
i tried rru 1.12 and 2.29 and they failed :-(
any ideas?
Read the Thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=794314 carefully and also the alpharev website http://alpharev.nl/. Hopefully u will get the answer.

No he won't. Alpharev or revolutionary don't support the new hboots, so you can't S-OFF, as far as I know there still isn't a way to downgrade, and you can't flash an older RUU since it won't let you. It was a stupid mistake of even using it in the first place.
so, there is no hope for me :-(
Hi guys,
I'm trying to unroot my phone so that i can trade it in to my network Three (Hutchinson 3G) for my upgrade. I don't want any hassle so i thought i should just unroot my phone. I thought about using a RUU but i couldn't get it to connect through HTC Sync due to my HTC Desire running Sandvold's ICS rom.
Any advice on how i should go about unrooting my Desire so that i'm running the software it came with?
Thanks,
Dean

first ,u must flash a 2.2 custom rom. the use the ruu application.
first you need to change your hboot with the "downgrade" hboot from: http://alpharev.nl/
if you have that you can run the ruu
Hello dear Desire-Masters @xda-dev ,
Everywhere in Internet for Desire Bravo S-OFF process there are instructions to use revolutionary. but for some time this site is down.
if there are other possibilities to S-OFF good old Desire Bravo ?
android 2.3.3
build 3.14.405.1
hboot 1.02.0001
try http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc...-froyo-2-2-to-stock-2-1-t3187731/post62534573
solution found, but not to S-OFF, only to upgrade hboot from 1.02 to 1.03 and unlock via htcdev.com
- it really works, thanks! - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...postcount=1260
