Im currently running the synergy rom on my evo 4g. After playing around with the settings and what-not, i decided to flash a kernel. Well i flashed one via kernel manager and when my phone rebooted all i got was a continuous message saying that process.android.acore has stopped working and i have to force close it. It repeatedly does this with no end. So once again i rebooted it. Its now stuck in a boot loop, any way to fix this? Also, once fixed will it do the same thing again and again?
please help
If you did a nandroid, just go into recovery and flash that. Or use a different Rom and flash that.

okay thanks, i got out of the bootloop, but i also had to got back to stock gingerbread, is it possible for me to reflash synergy? Because it seems that its backup is corrupted.
Yes, backup your current rom, then do a full wipe, then flash synergy.

I rooted it using simpleroot, and that worked fine, I could get into recovery, had superuser and all that, and then I was going to flash the latest cm6 nightly, and it hung at the splash screen, so I tried to get back into recovery to restore a nandroid backup I made (which is now mysteriously gone), but took me forever to get back into recovery, which I eventually did, wiped data, and installed WD-Slide 1.0.2 and now it's boot looping. I don't know what's wrong, but if someone can help, that'd be great
Read the rest of the thread for that ROM. Most people get stuck in a boot loop. Flash a different ROM.
Ah, thanks. I should have read through that, but I didn't think that that rom was the problem. I thought it was something I did in adb. know why the CM6 build would just hang at the splash screen though?
The nightlys aren't running right use eugenes version of cm6

Hey, stuck on the white htc evo 4g screen.
I used the pushboot app and now i can't load passed this point.
I able to boot into recovery. Any ideas on how to fix it?
Restore your last nandroid backup, which you should have made before flashing anything.
ok just deleted the bootanimation.zip from the system/customize/resource folder. still not getting past white htc evo screen.
my dumb ass didn't bother doing it. thinking this would go smoothly. guess i'll have to learn my lesson first don't I....Any other suggestions?
Push the original boot animation file back on your phone again.

Gonna have to boot into recovery, do a full wipe and reinstall your rom
Ok found it in another thread. Lets see if this works!
ok replacing with stock file didn't work. I'd like to keep the stock rom with full root. any suggestions?
alright, did the full wipe data/factory reset from ClockworkMod Recovery. rebooted, didn't get passed the same point. this is getting frustrating, I should have done the nandroid backup!
Okay, just to make sure, you have done a factory reset and reflashed your rom of choice? That should have fixed you up.

sorry, im a noob when it comes to this flashing with android. would this require me to push it with adb? if so, this just goes in the sdcard/ directory. and then from the recovery menu i would install zip from sdcard right?
Doing a factory reset won't do anything to the boot screen. Go to flash a .zip from SD card in recovery, and re-flash your ROM.
alright, trying fresh rom..... any good?
alright, got fresh installed and booted! ty people for your help. I'll try and go back to my stock room soon. just need to wait for the joeykrim one to finish! Thanks!
Install the netarchy Kernel 4.1.9.1 HVAS to run with the FRESH 3.3.0.1 ROM. Just started running this Kernel 2 days ago and I am currently at 12 hours of battery life and down to 42% left. That is with pretty moderate use too!!
Kernels:

ive been flashing roms for awhile now but Ive never successfully flashed a rom with the equipped kernel...it never boots my phone, it will go as far as the boot animation then start boot loop...so I ALWAYS have to load a diff kernel...then the rom will boot...are there any other things to do in CWM lo load up..fix permissions or anything? I always wipe cache/dalvik, data
Have you tried unrooting your phone then flashing froyo then reroot with unrevolked 3 and then flash the ROM that you use... I am a noob so I am just going by what I seen someone suggest before and it worked for them...good luck
Uhm..sorta thought about it but I'm leiry of bricking......

I went ahead and tried..restored 2.2 stock went back to the required radio by unrevoked3..just gets stuck at the boot animation..flash a diff kernel and all is well....ill just continue to do this! woot! was weird seeing stock froyo again haha
The only way to brick your phone that i know of is careless radio flashing. Flashing back between versions of android is fine I've done it probably 50 times. Don't be worries to unroot and maybe run an ruu because that's an annoying problem.

Today I wanted to update to the newest Nightly for CM7 and when I went went into the bootloader and chose Recovery the phone restarted back to the Bootloader screen.
Is there any fix for this?
Thanks

why do you boot into the bootloader first?no multi-boot option?Anyway,it sounds like the CM7 rom you flashed is corrupted,It sounds like you might have to format your sd card and start over,or reload a new recovery from the bootloader. If you had a multi-boot option you might be able to solve this without formatting.
hey,
try doing a factory reset getting rid of any apps you currently have and try using the advanced power menu to boot into recovery if that doesnt work, try re flashing a different recovery. let us know how it goes from there!
Good luck,
Stevo
Just try reflashing the recovery, should solve the problem.

CWM is junk, for one. Switch to Amon Ra

What he said. Man, I just finished typing the same advice in a different thread. Lol.
Seems people coming from Samsung devices in particular tend to start with CWM. I'm not speculating on the OP here, just a trend I've noticed as of late.

I used CWM for my initial nandroid, after first rooting with Unrevoked, then flashed Amon. Anyway, as said try re-flashing recovery. Also, FYI, that "all Gingerbread Roms" was just for one device, the article was slightly inaccurate. I flashed the Beats audio zip myself but upon investigating in Roote Explorer saw that none of the files had actually written.
CWM is a great and sometimes better choice for a lot of phones, just not the Evo

I have not been able to get it to work yet.
I have been thinking about Wiping everything and starting from scratch again, but I am afraid that if I wipe I wont be able to get into the recovery and get screwed and not be able to re-flash C-Mod 7.
I will attach a video of wtf my phone is doing.

Got it working!
Im the lucky owner of a GS3 as of today and I softbricked it on day one...
Dont even know what went wrong. I successfully rooted on my PC. I successfully flashed kyanROM but it was ICS and I wanted JB. I then wiped cache and full data wipe and then flashed BlackJelly. I couldnt get a data connection at all. Rebooted to recovery again and did both wipes and reinstalled Kyan and then endless boot loop. Did I do something wrong when flashing? I don't suppose Odin will work on a macbook? What about the drivers? Of course I'm going to be searching this forum and reading more but wanted to get a head start with any help. Will I have to use my PC instead? Im not at home and using my gfs comp.
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I'm able to get into download mode and Recovery mode still. Before I flashed a new rom after rooting I even did a full backup but that backup isnt listed in the restore menu. I tried to do the wipes and flash kyanrom again but same issue. Just boot loop.
EDIT2: I was able to install the BlackJelly rom successfully and boot but it seems installing the Kyanrom would only result in boot loop. I cant get a data connection with BlackJelly but can connect to wifi. Going to download another rom and flash. Hopefully wont be back here soon.
