Best xda members,,
i was on 2.3.3 Officele rom Gingerbread Dev.
soo i did get the S-off ,
but my question now is...
How do i get that S-on?
if you dont change Hboot you need to run official RUU again and you will become S-on again,
if you change your Hboot you need to flash downgrader from alpharev web site and after that run official RUU to become S.on

Hboot versions by alpharev with the number 6.93.1002 are protected against overwriting by ruu or ota. You have to flash downgrader and then stock hboot first before you can flash an ruu.
Is there a tutorial for flashing a hboot downgrader and a custom hboot?
Thanks!

First rename the Bravo downgrader.zip to PB99IMG run it in HBOOT MODE, not recovry mode, aply the update, than you hboot will chance to '' ... 9999 '' , after that i had a RUU ZIPFILE, rename that also to PB99IMG run in HBOOT mode and you're done, yoo i learn this as wel!,
Questions:
After i get 999 hboot, i rename the ruu file like ruu_bravo.... .exe to PB99.ZIP?
Thanks!
No. You have to either extract the ruu from the rom (guide can be found by using the search) or download the appropriate ruu as a PB99IMG.exe and rename this into PB99IMG.zip.

RUU . zip Chance to the name to PB99IMG.(
How i got back to the 0.93.0001:
1. I have downloaded the downgrader from alpharev - bravo_downgrade.img.
2. Downloaded fastboot coomader.
3. Restart phone into fastboot.
4. Start fastboot commander, loaded bravo_downgrade.img and flashed it.
5. Restart bootloader (from phone).
6. Got the 6.93.999 hboot.
7. Restart the phone, activate debugging mode and conect the phone with charge only.
8. Downloaded the ruu (for my phone) from shipped roms.
9. Flash the RUU from windows and now the RUU can rewrite the bootloader - so now i have 0.93.0001 hboot.
Thank you all and alpharev and unrevocked (revolutionary)!

I'm using oxygen 2.1.6 with hboot oxygen r2, s-off & rooted.
If i want to flash back to original rom with boot sound enabled, what should i do first?

Could someone give me to original rom link & suggest one?
I see there are many versions. Thanks. Good day.
Is your phone a branded one?
If not, use the latest WWE RUU from fastboot.
Get it here.
Also, because you are using the never alpharev HBOOTs, you need to download their DOWNGRADER first from alpharev.nl
This file: Bravo Downgrader
So Step 1 : Flash Downgrader
Step 2: Flash RUU from fastboot.

Thanks for your reply. My phone is unbranded.
Any command to flash the RUU from fastboot? Coz' i never done before
After flashed this RUU, does the phone become S-ON & Unrooted?
I'm planning to flash hboot bravo stock 250|40|147 and flash Froyo Rom which quite similar to stock one. Leave it rooted & s-off. Any idea which ROM? Thanks.
Nothing. Download the .exe file then boot your phone into fastboot, plug USB and run the RUU from your PC.
It is recommended to flash the DOWNGRADER, not the alpharev stock, because there is a possibility, you will still have S-OFF if you don't flash the downgrader.
So, if you want it unrooted and S-ON: then the Downgrader from alpharev must be flashed.
Well if you want to leave it S-OFF & Rooted - then I'd suggest:
Leedroid 2.5.
Alternatively : Rooted Stock
again, thanks +1
I've done a lot of reading and see where Alpharev has a hboot downgrader but does this work with CDMA version BravoC?
I rooted using Revolutionary after having hboot 1.06 for a USCC Desire. Phone is out of standard warranty but I need to send phone in for repair under extended warranty. When I flash 2.2 RUU it cannot roll back hboot version.
Thanks!
I still haven't found anything. Thanks for the help.
what was your original Hboot number?
see alpharev page, if your model is supported try this -
flash HBOOT bravo_downgrader and right after that run appropriate RUU wich contains default hboot to protect extended warranty
as a result of this process you become S-ON again with stock Hboot
i think this may work even for CDMA version but i am not 100% sure
google it and you will find the answer
Here is about GSM Desire...
Actually I just use revolutionary to s-off my phone and it work. I test several new ROMs right now, then I try to flash stock ROM back when found this thread. I can flash the RUU HTC Froyo successfully. but...
the hboot is not overwritten. it still revolutionary. I am very sure the stock ROM I use contain hboot. because I can see it upgrade my hboot from 0.8.000 to 0.93.0001 during I flash this ROM before I s-off it yesterday.
revolutionary claim that we can get the original hboot if we flash stock ROM that contain hboot but it not working for me. maybe you need to tell them about this.

Ah!! Ok, I hadn't seen anything but I really appreciate you confirming this.
[8]STILL S-OFF AFTER RUU
"I want to return my phone for warranty, I used a RUU but I'm still S-OFF"
Cause:
- Alpharev's Hboots are write protected, so that they can not be overwritten by a RUU
HOW TO S-ON
METHOD 1#
[STEP1]- Visit Alpharev and download the "Downgrader"
[STEP2]- Flash the downgrader over fastboot. This can be done with Android Flasher, cmd, or fastboot commander (Note: android flasher is the only program that does not require third party software such as Android SDK or Java JDK)
[STEP3]- You should now notice the title on the bootloader screen is "Alpharev Unlock", run the RUU again and you will have S-ON'd your device.
#METHOD 2#
[STEP1]- Instead of running the RUU again, and putting your phone at risk once more, you can simply upgrade just the bootloader manually, with the PB99IMG.zip method.
[PHASE1]- we need to extract rom.zip from the RUU.
[P1/STEP1]- Run the RUU (BUT DO NOT PLUG IN YOUR PHONE OR CONTINUE), move it to the side as it cannot be minimised.
[P1/STEP2]- go to start menu, and use the "run" feature. Type in %temp%
[P1/STEP3]- select "date modified" to "today" (to make it easier to find). There are should now be 2 folders with long names of random characters.
[P1/STEP4]- search the folders for rom.zip and extract it to the desktop.
[P1/STEP5]- delete everything EXCEPT "hboot_8x50_0.93.0001_20100810.nb0" and "android-info.txt"
[P1/STEP6]- rename the zip to PB99IMG.zip (make sure it is not PB99IMG.zip.zip)
[PHASE2]- now we need to update the bootloader
[P2/STEP1]- put the file in the ROOT of your sd-card (not in any file or folder) and boot into bootloader (poweroff, hold VOLUME DOWN and POWER). After a few seconds, you will be prompted to update bootloader. Select Yes. DO NOT INTERRUPT THE PROCESS, OR YOU WILL BRICK YOUR PHONE.
[P2/STEP2]- Once the process is finished, you will now be S-ON.

Hi,
I am s-off woth cm r2 table using Oxygen.
I flashed the stock hboot table and then the RUU.
The process went perfect and it installed the RUU. But when I start the phone woth Vol dwn + power it still says AlphaRev S-off.
I then tried the new gingerbread RUU and it still the same but the HBOOT is the new one 1.02.0001.
Is there a way of removing S-OFF?
Best regards

1) Nandroid backup in recovery.
2) Verify the MD5SUM of the file you downloaded against the one in the table.
3) Flash HBOOT with your phone in fastboot mode (Back+POWER) -> 'fastboot flash hboot bravo_alphaspl.img' (change into the correct filename for the HBOOT you downloaded)
4) 'fastboot reboot-bootloader'
5) 'fastboot erase cache'

Can I do this:
You can also download the corresponding PB99IMG zipfile, put it on your sdcard, and rename it to PB99IMG.zip. Then start the phone in HBOOT mode (VolDown+POWER) to flash the HBOOT without a PC. It is however still necessary to either restore your nandroid, or reflash your ROM after doing this.

Think you'll need to fastboot flash the AlphaRev downgrade hboot as the newer hboots (CM R2, OxygenR2 etc) are downgrade protected.

You only need to use the downgrader when you want to return to factory S-ON. Otherwise, leave it alone.

hboots are for GSM devices only
if you want to install a custom rom like this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1403113
you need to use cmtd to change your partitions like an hboot will do for a GSM device
follow these instructions:
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/23984-guide-to-installing-cmtd/
after rebooting recovery flash the rom followed by the CDMA patch and GAPPS
then flash the boot-cMTD.zip
reboot
hopefully you found one with a patch that actually works
Hi all, after reading through several tutorials including Bortak's and asking questions in chat rooms, I finally felt like I need to reach out for help on the forum. I have a HTC Desire that was hanging on white HTC screen and had no recovery. I have flashed with AlphaRev HBOOT and it now shows the following in Bootloader:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
MICROP-031d
TOUCH PANEL-SYNT0101
RADIO-5.17.05.23
I have tried flashing CWM recovery but when I try to load recovery from the Bootloader it just vibrates 7 times and then vibrates. I just want to get the phone working again, but I am not sure what I need to do or what ROM/RUU I need to use. Also, when I try to flash from fastboot it gives me: "FAILED (remote: not allowed)"
Is this something to do with SHIP S-OFF and not ENG S-OFF. I think getting recovery working is the first step but I am lost.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

I bought the device like this with SHIP S-OFF. It was fine, and then it started hanging at the white HTC screen, and would only boot up correctly once every handful of times. I assumed the ROM was unstable and wanted to flash a stable version of CM 7. However when I realised that there was no recovery I resorted to Fastboot. I then flashed an RUU zip (gingerbread) via fastboot and now it wont start at all, instead it keeps restarting. I have flashed CWM via fastboot to try and get recovery working but when I select recovery from bootloader it just vibrates 7 times.
My objective now - just to get the phone working again

The pink at the top is "--- Alpharev ---". I did try to use Android flasher to flash recovery in fastboot mode but it says I need ENG bootloader or something.
oh rite. im not really sure im afraid, but i think u will have to use the bravo_downgrade.img from Alpharev or the PB99IMG_downgrade if u cant use fastboot commands then run a ruu. i think when u tried the ruu and it failed it was because ur hboot is 6.93.1002 which cant be overwritten by an ruu. The ruu to use would be the exact 1 for ur phone - devise, brand, region ect or use the 2.3 upgrade which is for all and can be found at HTCDev/ kernel source code/ see downloads/ filter by device (desire) below check other then find files, then ul see 2.3 ruu upgrade..
just wait and maybe some1 can confirm this first before trying it or if they have an answer

check out bortak's guide. for what i know (since surfing xda), it is wrong to flash a ruu while you have a 'custom' hboot (the hboot is very important. you can see what hboot you have on the pink line. in fastboot screen. is it Alpharev Data++, Alpharev cm7r2?) but, as long as the screen of the phone is 'alive', there's always a solution.
for more info, go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17829936
good luck.

OK so I downgraded the HBOOT using the downgrader from AlphaRev, then I ran the RUU for Android 2.3, but it still wont boot up. White screen appears for about 10 seconds then keeps restarting. Also the same happens when I try to open recovery from Bootloader. After running the RUU my bootloader shows the following:
BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-1.02.0001
MICROP-031d
RADIO-5.17.05.23
Any suggestions what to do next?

I am not familiar with this method of running a RUU by flashing it as a zip from fastboot. The standard method is to execute the RUU.exe from PC while the device is in Fastboot mode. Could this be the root problem ?
