I just rooted my EVO and put Mike2.45 on it. Can I use the tethering features without have to give sprint compensation?

ditto
good question also.
i'm rooted with 2.2 but don't want to use roms etc. just an app if there is one out there.
easier than hooking up the linksys when people visit i think.

No one has probably answered you because they cant believe you posted this. Not sure if you just got your phone and rooted but just a lil bit of searching would of let you know:
1. CM7 has built in hotspot - check it out under settings - wireless
2. There is an app on the market that achieves this goal as well. - just type in wifi in your market search
I see you are new here with not too many posts, my suggestion before they get on you is do searching till you cant search anymore then search again.
always read the OP - just trying to keep you from getting flamed next time
What does op stands for? And thanks for the advice

I saw that the Skype 2.0 was cracked and allowing video chat on. More phones than official app allows. I was wondering if anyone has gotten cracked it in a way to get it working on the DI2. Here's the link to the original forum discussion

Would love to see this working with the DI2 instead of waiting for the official release or switching to something like fring.

Download the RUU, you could just Google it. I think its worth it since I have no need for root yet. I'm sure root will come my way eventually anyway.

Yeah I had some problems when I rooted my original Incredible and then when I decided I didn't want it rooted I had troubles everytime I had an official Verizon OTA update. I decided with this phone I have no intention of rooting it at all, to avoid problems like that.
...though i would love to delete the tremendous amounts of crapware that came with this phone.

If your already rooted can you install the RUU?
Works for me on my rooted HTC Droid Incredible 2.
Skype with video works on my DInc2 with 2.3.3 non root. I downloaded the DIncS version from xda and it works awesome.
Go to settings/applications/manage/all/, go to the white skype, clear the data.
Uninstall the blue skype if you have it.
install this skype here (http://www.mediafire.com/?c86p48w1ei0zaco) and enjoy your video calling.
Edit:Fixed Download Link.

Don't blame you man. The questions he asked he could of found in the same time it took him to actually post his question. You were nice enough to help him and post links, I just cant do that with some people who to me have to be lazy if they can;t find simple stuff. Two question in Q&A today can someone post a link to Decks rom -Really? and this one.. There are a million stock rooted roms in Development and I bet ya Google would of helped him as well...
sorry did not mean to rant.... I'm out!
Ok guys don't blast me. I haven't been on this page in like 2 days because of work. Thanks for finding those links for me Shorty. I don't have the ability to surf the site on PC and it takes too long to surf on the phone and its even more complicated to surf on the app. I thank everyone who helps me on here cuz I know others take time out of the things they have to do to help people like me. Sorry for not replying to this sooner. Its not my fault I work all the time.

And searching Google never led me to any of the links I needed. I try to help however I can when I can. I just don't have a lot of time to actually surf the site. If I search using the app it doesn't bring up the right pages. If I had a PC it would be easier. so thanks again Shorty.

I want to root and enable native tether or not root and use foxfi

He doesn't know that foxfi unlocks the native tethering but has its own GUI it uses for settings and sets its own name as the hotspot. Or for everybody's info that's how it works lol.

ROM's don't break devices...People break devices.
I've never had a rom ruin my device but I have seen where people have bricked their device because they didn't know what they were doing . I have even heard of people flashing roms for different phones on to their own... Ya, it does get comical around here. lol

correct rom don't break your device but people do. but changing rom makes you break device if something goes wrong. i had captivate and i used to load rom easily without issue using clockwordmod recovery. one day i loaded cyangenmod rom and try to load other rom after that and my device never boot up and keep rebooting . cyangenmod changed my boot logo from samsung to cyangenmod and i cant even goto change my device out under warranty.
Foxfi does work now with 1.95 version i guess fix is out and as long as it unlocks native tethering in background then i dont need anything now. i m happy.:laugh:
That sounds like a simple boot-loop, if the phone appears to be continually rebooting and not loading the OS. Maybe not bricked at all...
What happened when you restored your backup?
