[Q] Root for Android 2.3.3

How long do you think it will take for a ROOT to come out for the Android 2.3.3?

Between now and the end of time.
We don't know and asking for etas won't get you anywhere.

i am patiently waiting. I miss my old evo rooted. I was actually given a brand new evo that had 2.2 on it and the ota showed up and without thinking i updated. So mad about that.

I understand this is hard work and you guys are doing it all for love (or for something other than money), so I'm not going to add my voice to the chorus asking when the root solution for 2.3.3 will be ready--even though I'm a-yearning and a-craving to upgrade and re-root my phone. I'll just say thanks for now to all you geniuses for making these phones so much better!

Hope it's soon because I'm ready I just got my evo 4g yesterday and tried to superoneclick root and z4root and it didn't work.. Never thought to check and see if 2.3 can root. Damn

the more people ask, the less likely it will be done!
And if you had searched, you would have seen this has already been asked!

I bet root will be available when you stop making new accounts just to make the same thread asking the same question over and over again.
If anything, the devs are probably getting tired of the obnoxious kids in the Evo forums badgering them. Instead of trying harder, I'd give up if I were in their shoes.
Believe it or not, there are worst things than not being able to root your phone.

Wireless tethering

I just rooted my EVO and put Mike2.45 on it. Can I use the tethering features without have to give sprint compensation?

i'm rooted with 2.2 but don't want to use roms etc. just an app if there is one out there.
easier than hooking up the linksys when people visit i think.

thanks to you and decayer. that program worked easily. read about a lot of different ones with this problem or that and this one was good out of the box.

Request$ Stop Amazons Kindle Fire Silent Updates

Is there any way some one has found out how to stop the Silent updates from Amazon.
There updates look like they want nothing but the basic Kindle Launcher!
One of the easiest ways to avoid the update was simple turning off wifi.
But, I wanted to know if there are any other ways!

I've frozen the OTASilentinstall.apk with luck so far. But fyi this belongs in general.

The updates don't really hurt anything, and CM7 is supposed to be ready tomorrow, which means no worry about OTA updates at all. So just hang tight little Pilgrim.

Use a program like titanium backup pro and tap and hold on the application and select "freeze"

I have a feeling no. Once you root your Fire the amazon prime video detects it and disables it.
Once you are on cm7 you will have permanent root practically and if amazon can detect root or not, Im sure it can detect your not on the right ROM and just outright say no.

Use Voodoo OTArootkeeper it will temp unroot when needed

(Q) how to unthrottle are data?

I uninstalled the My Account application from t-mobile, but now I keep getting messages about force closing some "nuance" app. Should I just install a custom rom while I'm at it, or is there a way to get rid of these messages?

Thanks, you'd think the fact that my avatar is of me & is clearly female would be a tipoff... but I'm not mad lol.
Have you rebooted since you uninstalled the app? That usually takes care of that message. If you have, then you may have to go into system/app & make sure there are no orphaned My Account .apks. I'd use Root Explorer & check for any .apks with "nuance" in their names.

Yeah I only thought about that 15 minutes later lol, it fixed the problem. I forgot to update my post, but thanks for the help.

This doesn't seem to be working on the $30/mo Monthly 4G plan :/
I went over now stuck at 2g (like 7.5kB/s) -.-
