Skype 2.0 video chat crack? - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

I saw that the Skype 2.0 was cracked and allowing video chat on. More phones than official app allows. I was wondering if anyone has gotten cracked it in a way to get it working on the DI2. Here's the link to the original forum discussion
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/showthread.php/4849-Skype-with-Video-Support-for-Various-Devices...
Would love to see this working with the DI2 instead of waiting for the official release or switching to something like fring.

Yeah I just heard that same thing over in the other forum. Is there any place where I can manually install it non-root or do I just have to wait around for verizon to push it over.

Download the RUU, you could just Google it. I think its worth it since I have no need for root yet. I'm sure root will come my way eventually anyway.

Yeah I had some problems when I rooted my original Incredible and then when I decided I didn't want it rooted I had troubles everytime I had an official Verizon OTA update. I decided with this phone I have no intention of rooting it at all, to avoid problems like that.
...though i would love to delete the tremendous amounts of crapware that came with this phone.

If your already rooted can you install the RUU?

Works for me on my rooted HTC Droid Incredible 2.

Skype with video works on my DInc2 with 2.3.3 non root. I downloaded the DIncS version from xda and it works awesome.
Go to settings/applications/manage/all/, go to the white skype, clear the data.
Uninstall the blue skype if you have it.
install this skype here (http://www.mediafire.com/?c86p48w1ei0zaco) and enjoy your video calling.
Edit:Fixed Download Link.

[Q] Root for Android 2.3.3

How long do you think it will take for a ROOT to come out for the Android 2.3.3?
Between now and the end of time.
We don't know and asking for etas won't get you anywhere.

I don't know... but glad someone finally thought to ask!
(sike!)
i am patiently waiting. I miss my old evo rooted. I was actually given a brand new evo that had 2.2 on it and the ota showed up and without thinking i updated. So mad about that.
Thanks, I'll be patient.
I understand this is hard work and you guys are doing it all for love (or for something other than money), so I'm not going to add my voice to the chorus asking when the root solution for 2.3.3 will be ready--even though I'm a-yearning and a-craving to upgrade and re-root my phone. I'll just say thanks for now to all you geniuses for making these phones so much better!
Hope it's soon because I'm ready I just got my evo 4g yesterday and tried to superoneclick root and z4root and it didn't work.. Never thought to check and see if 2.3 can root. Damn

the more people ask, the less likely it will be done!
And if you had searched, you would have seen this has already been asked!
I bet root will be available when you stop making new accounts just to make the same thread asking the same question over and over again.
If anything, the devs are probably getting tired of the obnoxious kids in the Evo forums badgering them. Instead of trying harder, I'd give up if I were in their shoes.
Believe it or not, there are worst things than not being able to root your phone.

Request$ Stop Amazons Kindle Fire Silent Updates

Is there any way some one has found out how to stop the Silent updates from Amazon.
There updates look like they want nothing but the basic Kindle Launcher!
One of the easiest ways to avoid the update was simple turning off wifi.
But, I wanted to know if there are any other ways!

I have a feeling no. Once you root your Fire the amazon prime video detects it and disables it.
Once you are on cm7 you will have permanent root practically and if amazon can detect root or not, Im sure it can detect your not on the right ROM and just outright say no.

Thanks, you'd think the fact that my avatar is of me & is clearly female would be a tipoff... but I'm not mad lol.
Have you rebooted since you uninstalled the app? That usually takes care of that message. If you have, then you may have to go into system/app & make sure there are no orphaned My Account .apks. I'd use Root Explorer & check for any .apks with "nuance" in their names.
