I'm trying to root my evo with the new release today of Revolutionary method. I've asked over and over and even sent PM to others who had the same problem but found a solution. And again NO HELP! so I wanted to ask here and see if anyone has a solution. Everything goes good until it gets to "waiting for fastboot". The phone reboots into recovery and fastboot usb is shown and it stays there. HELP PLEASE!!!!
Just a guess, but make sure to have the htc drivers installed. If you have the full htc sync installed you have to uninstall it. Hope this helps..
I do not have HTC sync installed I tried again and stuck on fastboot. I get a error message saying Android 1.0 not installed.

Tired of scouring through help videos and google searches... I hope someone on here can help me.
Rooted my HTC Desire via the unrevoked 3.2 method and used for a few days before deciding to S-OFF. Well i made a mistake and got stuck in a boot loop. Reflashed the RUU and i am back in business.
The issue is that i had to reinstall HTC Sync to reflash the RUU and then uninstall again so i could re-root, leaving the drivers in of course. I noticed that when i connect phone to PC via the same method as before, it should have had 'ANDROID 1.0' in device manager but this time it says MY HTC.
Can anyone explain what to do?
1) I can go ahead and root as before, this is just the new version of HTC Sync drivers.
2) Stay clear, the new drivers mean the bootloader is locked.
Which is it?????
I am a noob and although some members on here instructed me to use adb, i am out of my depth with that, even the guides available aren't simple enough for me.
Surely there must be an easy way out of this?
Any help would be much appreciated!
u can try uninstall the drivers and reinstall them back to be safe. also install the modified hboot drivers from unrevoked.
Thanks for your reply. Already tried to uninstall then reinstall the drivers. The issue is happening when I try to install the modified hboot driver, it says the driver is up to date but doesn't show as 'Android Bootloader Interface'.

When your Mobile is fully booted it will show My HTC.. and when you will boot into fastboot.. by volume down and power.. you will see 'Android Bootloader Interface'.
So that mean, YES you can root with unrevoked while you have 'MY HTC' in device manager with USB Debugging On.

I've never done this method, so hopefully someone more knowledgeable will show up, but, seems I've read HTC sync must be uninstalled (not present) on your computer. But idk for sure.

Tried that but thanks for the idea
Still need help
Sounds like the Fastboot Drivers were not installed correctly. Try installing this exe file to your computer with your phone connected to it in Fasboot USB (FASTBOOT USB highlighed in red). Then see does the computer read the phone.

red triangle means you have no custom recovery
hey guys, I'm a real noob when it comes to adb(med student here, so have very little info). I was flashing jellytime R30 and rebooted , when the phone got stuck at a black screen after the HTC logo. I would have used the volume down key to boot into hboot/bootloader but my volume down key isn't working.
I installed the SDK and tried to run a command to reboot but clearly I did something wrong as nothing happened. It said "error:device not found".
Would really appreciate some assistance here.:crying:
Are your drivers installed properly?

I was just checking and it seems I don't have the required driver. I understand I'll have to install HTC sync to have the drivers?
Yes, you need the HTC Sync drivers. Make sure your phone is unplugged from the computer when you install them. I believe that's important.
Thanks guys..installed the drivers and managed to boot into recovery. :good:
Hey guys thanks for reading and hopefully we can get this problem solved. The problem is that my pc won't reconize my phone when I boot into hboot. I've been trying to return to stock since I'm returning the phone for a replacement but I cant because it doesn't show up.
I've tried
Different cables
restarting phone and pc
uninstalling and reinstalling
Different platform tools
Another thing is that when the phone is on and connected it shows up when I type adb devices but in the hboot screen i doesnt if you guys can help that would be great, Thanks

It's probably a driver problem. Download HTC Sync. Run it to install the drivers. Then uninstall HTC Sync. It doesn't play nice with ADB/fastboot.

Hi, I am new to custom ROMs install , recently got a Poco F3 and When installing I run into a problem, the pc doesnt recognize the device after I run the batch install for the device, when running the console, it gets stuck here (Ill add a picture), its been one hour like this, whta can I do? I am using the lastest version of Pixel Extended.
Also I can no longer get back into normal MIUI so IDK what to do.
Thanks for any help and sorry if this sounds like such a noob mistake but I am really lost right now
Edit:
SOLVED! IDK how, but It was a drivers issue, had to install It and uninstall it multiple times, sometimes the device manager would recognize it but the console script wouldn't, don't know really why it happened but hey I fixed it and managed to install custom ROMs, thanks for the help.
looks like a driver issue when its rebooting fastboot mode, check device manager, might just need to unplug cable and then plug back in to get it working again.
if that doesnt help try a different driver on the pc.

And which kind of driver should I get because in the MIUI unlock app, it says that the latest drivers are installed. Where could I get other drivers?

are u able to boot to recovery? at this step, your phone should boot to recovery, and enter fastboot from there
if able to enter recovery, select advanced > enter fastboot
the installation should continue. dont seem a like a driver issue to me

It DID get into recovery mode with the pixel experience logo in it but the script wouldn't move past after waiting for device(one time for like 2 hours)
In the end IDK how, but It was a drivers issue, had to install It and uninstall it multiple times, sometimes the device manager would recognize it but the console script wouldn't even start saying waiting for device , don't know really why it happened but hey I fixed it with that trick and managed to install custom ROMs, thanks for the help!!
