Hi,
I have Calkulin's E4GT 2.8.1 with Venum Minimal Black & White Theme.
The Minimal Theme came in 2 versions, Regular and with 13 lockscreen mods.
I tried the 13 lockscreen mods version but like the Regular one better.
The only problem is that with the Regular version, I only get CRT animation for turning the screen off. I used to get CRT animation for both turning the screen on and off with the 13 lockscreen mod version.
I tried installing Calkulin's CRT_on.zip but it only works for turning the screen off.
Anybody have any idea how I could keep the regular version theme and get the CRT animation for turning the screen ON as well?
My set up is perfect otherwise. It just sucks that I have to choose between having the Minimal Black & White "Regular" version and having CRT animation for turning the screen on as well.

Hey jackka, I am having the exact same issue. I have tried flashing the CRT_on.zip and still nope, no CRT on. The only thing it does after the flash is change my battery icon back to green. Wonder whats going on as it seems to work fine for everyone else.
I was hoping there was a mod I could flash on for CRT on and off animation.
But it seems there's only one for CRT off animation and for CRT on animation, you just have to hope the theme or ROM comes with it.
I'm assuming what Calkulin meant by CRT_ON is that it turns ON the "CRT OFF animation." lol
Can't have everything, I guess...
I'll take a look at the zip later to see if I can figure something out

I'm loving Jelly Bean and wanted to make a simple boot animation to celebrate it's awesomeness. This is what I came up with while I was supposed to be working:
*UPDATE* Added a black background version.
Grey Background: JB Nexus Boot Animation
Black Background: JB Black Bootanimation
Just change the filename to bootanimation.zip and drop it in the /data/local directory. As with anything else, I'm not responsible for any breakage your phone may incur by using these files.

Very cool! Thanks for this, it looks great!
Very nice thanks

Is it compatible with 3.7 inch screen 480x854 res ??
Not sure. The animation is set to use a 720x1280 resolution, but the actual images are only 360x720 (smaller resolution seems to run better) and it's just scaled up when it plays. Theoretically it should work, but I can't say 100%. Unfortunately, I don't have a phone with that resolution to test with.
Very nice. The only thing that I would request is that the back ground be black instead of grey. Other than that a great job.
yeah please, work on black version
I'll see what I can do. Not sure how good it'll look with the jelly beans having the black outline though.
Sorry it took so long. Between work, and the little girl teething...I haven't had much time to work on things. I've added a version of this animation with a black background instead of grey. Enjoy!

This is a collection of my own custom Android boot animations, optimized for the screen and color properties of the Nexus 4 (however, these animations should work perfectly with any 768x1280 resolution Android phone running Android 4.0.4 or later). My goal is to create simplistic and professional-looking boot animations that embrace the modern and simple feel of Android's UI. I convert my animations to PNG-8, allowing me to create very high quality boot animations while also keeping the filesize down to a minimum (often under 1 MB). My animations frequently feature solid bright colors on a black background, emphasizing the beauty of the screen of the Nexus 4 and reflecting modern design principles illustrated in the newest builds of Android. As of 04/28/2014, I have made the decision to make all new animations run at a very smooth framerate of 40 fps, which runs extremely well on the Nexus 4 when coupled with PNG-8 compression.
I will take any requests, public or private, and I will do my best to follow through with them as well as I can. If anyone wants an animation for their ROM, tweak, etc., contact me and I would be glad to help out to the best of my ability. I will also create kernel splash images if requested. Please try to keep everything clean, professional, and appropriate for all audiences.
All of my animations (as of 07/29/2013) are now also available on Boot Box! Check out overhauling's page for the amazing app, and visit the Play Store to download it!
NOTE: The animations in this thread are CWM/TWRP flashable .ZIPs. If you would like to place the boot animation manually, extract the flashable, find the bootanimation.zip (/system/media/bootanimation.zip) file, and use a root file explorer to replace your original boot animation with this file. The scripts DO NOT make a backup, so please make a backup of your boot animation before doing this. You can also now use Boot Box to download and apply my animations.
NOTE 2: The .GIF full previews give the user a good idea of what the animation will look like, but I will specify two differences between the GIF and the actual animation. First, the GIF does not have pauses in it, so if it looks rushed, it will not be like that in the actual animation. And second, most of the GIFs are rendered at 480x800 (or 480x480) resolution in order to make them easier to view on a computer; the actual animations take full advantage of the 768x1280 display on the Nexus 4.
I do all of my work for free, and all of my downloads are completely free to use. If you would like to distribute them, please contact me. If you like my work and would like to donate to help keep me going, there is a link for PayPal in my signature.

Added Red Window animation! Looks very much like the tile system on Windows Phone 8, but still very pretty, IMO.
Added Google Zoom animation! Very clean, check it out!
That concentric one looks cool. I'm going to give it a try.

Thanks! If you like it/don't like it/it doesn't work right/etc, please post a reply. As I currently don't yet own a Nexus 4 to test on, I'm a tad in the dark. But that will be fixed shortly
EDIT: I am still testing these animations, just not on a Nexus 4 (I'm testing them on my Samsung Galaxy S). These flashables have been tested by Nexus 4 users and they do work, but if you want to manually place the animation, the bootanimation.zip file can be easily found within the flashable .ZIP (/system/media/bootanimation.zip).

Color Splash animation added! I really like the look and feel of this one, it really embraces the Android color scheme as well as the Nexus 4 phone.
just wanted to thank you for the boot anims. stellar work, my man!
i especially like the concentric colors.
one word of advice, if i may. i would avoid including the 4.2 in the animations. 4.3 is just around the corner. besides, i think most people prefer to have a nice and clean boot animation as opposed to something (perhaps needlessly) indicating the android version they're running.

Thank you, I really do appreciate your support. As for the 4.2 in the animations, I just released a 4.3 exclusive I understand what you are saying, and I am trying to create more device-specific or general android boot animations as well. I just like to have a few ROM / build exclusives
Just added Pulse, my first 4.3 exclusive boot animation! Very simple, but gives tribute to the new JB build to be released officially (hopefully) on Wednesday!
No doubt the concentric one is the best...
Can someone whether its working well....just asking bcoz OP doesnt have nexus4

I can confirm that my downsized versions work well on my Galaxy S. Since only the resolution of the image is changed in the N4 versions, they should work perfectly fine. My Nexus 4 is coming in tomorrow (hopefully) so I will be able to test these out natively soon
thanks

I think my next animation will be a very simple one for Paranoid Android, it's a very popular ROM that I plan to use for a while. I think I'll add a poll tomorrow for specific ROMs and OSs, check back for that. I'm also looking into boot animation sounds, but don't get too excited, haha.
After installing these on my new N4, I've found that the pauses are much too long IMO. I'll shorten them for the most popular animations and reupload them soon. I also plan on shrinking the size of Concentric Colors, I think it's a bit too big.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Added poll for most wanted boot animations, and updated most popular animations (Concentric Colors, Flood of Azure, Color Splash) to shorten their pause times. Also shrunk the size of Concentric Colors a bit to look better on the screen. Expect a new animation for Paranoid Android soon!
