2430mAh battery that fits without a cover :O - Vibrant Accessories

Go up on ebay and search up "GOLD 2430MAH BATTERY FOR SAMSUNG I9000 GALAXY S" crazy ass high capacity battery too good to be true?

thanks for the info. I checked, there is no review for this item. don't know if it's good. it's hard to send back to UK if it's not.

yeah alot of batteries these days are actually the capacity they say they are mostly if u found it cheap if u wanted a high capacity battery get mugen i heard its pretty great but requires an extended cover

I'd assume it's around 1200mah tbh

Sounds way too good to be true. Expect less than stock, and you won't be disappointed, and, maybe, just maybe you'll be surprised. But probably not.
Sent from my rough sketch of a Vibrant on a brick.

It does sound to good to be true but the seller's rating looks good and there are some positive reviews for the same battery for other phones. I know battery capacity is increasing over time but this is a pretty big jump, to go from 1600mAh to 2430mAh in a single generation. If I lived in the UK I would test this out but I'm not going to risk having to pay postage back from the US if it sucks.

Found a similar thread in the i9000 forums. Yeah, it's fake. Battery life is the same or slightly better/worse than the stock battery.

I have it on my Captivate. Go for the i9000 and it's $8 and ships fast with an external charger. I would rate it at least 1800mah. Possibly up to 2000mah. So it's definitely inexpensive and better than the stock one.

Who has extended batteries and can we get pictures?

I am thinking about getting an extended battery for my Vibrant, specifically this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/3500mAh-Battery-w-Back-Cover-Samsung-Vibrant-T959-/280576737493. Now, I was wondering if I could get feedback from owners for extended batteries:
Which one did you get?
What is the quality -- how long does it last you?
Can you provide pics of how much fatter it made your phone?
Thanks!

Just posted some pictures and impressions of my new 2800mah extended battery with rubberized case.
Thanks man! 2800 doesn't seem to make the phone too fat. Were did you get a case for that?!

Oh you mean back cover. I thought you meant a case, like a TPU case.
Extended battery with Clear Protector for entire phone
Use this and your battery life more than doubles. It is very comfortable, rubberized coating, and the battery rocks. The door is quite thin considering and fits comfortably in the hand. They are also going to make custom clear protectors for the entire phone and have them up for sale within 2 weeks.

Reputable battery vs cheap knock-off manufactured with who knows what QA--if any. I avoid the dirt cheap batteries and chargers. Maybe I am just a snob tho

Yes. About 3.5 times the cost of a typical OEM 1500mAh battery but it's not like there is much competition at size. If they produced them on a scale closer to Samsung's own, they'd possibly be cheaper.
I've also seen the cheap non OEM batteries not even charge all the way up to their advertised capacity and then their efficiency is also worse than the OEM battery. I've also seen many Vibrants busted by using cheap batteries. They've overheated, exploded or caused component failures before exploding.
At least OEM batteries perform as expected for the most part. Anyone done any or seen any performance tests done on these Mugen batteries? I'd expect them to at least perform as advertised given the price. I might actually consider getting one of these even though it costs more than what I paid for the phone itself! LOL
If you don't buy direct, you can find the Mugen one online for less than $100.

Just an update with my Cheap Knockoff battery LOL. Its been running great with no leaks, no overheating or anything. its the 2800mah extended battery. Ive been getting 2+days with the battery. Thats with 3g on always, screen at brightest level and streaming slacker/pandora a couple hours a day. Please dont be scared to order one of the cheap batteries, they actually do work. Im just a cheapo that perfers grocery store brands vs the Big Name brands.

Can you please post some pics of your phone with new back plate on? Maybe next to a pencil or another common object for comparison?
Thank you.
I would like to see something better comparison wise than a lighter, I really want to be able to keep on 3g all day and get most of a days charge.. I have to keep off 3g, bluetooth, gps all the time to get 17+ hours out of my phone.. and heaven forbid I use google maps or something.
Don't get me wrong, my phone is awesome, I am used to having to keep things like 3g off to have enough battery, but it would be nice to be able to USE the phone without fear of it dying too early..

Be wary. A lot of these batteries aren't actually the capacity that they advertise.

yea, i just bought one i will see how works
On the captivate forums a user bought a few of these different mAh batteries and did tests with some battery meters. None of the batteries did as well as the stock OEM batteries. Even known "good" brands like Seido didn't do well. The higher capacity batteries never did as well as even stock batteries and the cheap eBay batteries that matched the originals did really bad.
If i want an extra battery i will just buy it from AT&T or Moto - or somewhere that i know the one i buy is genuine.
i bought one today too
I asked the seller:
Does the battery fit in the original battery-case?
here is his answer:
his is andida battery. It is better than the original battery thick only little .do not worry,it could be use
Do you think it will fit?
I looked and it seems to me like there's not really room for a thicker battery....
Make sure to check out the seidio battery...that might be a good one.

I would be very wary of any battery that is any thicker than the original. If you have to press harder on the cover to get it to clip on with the thicker battery, it could be physically stressing the circuit boards or other components.
its already shipped so i will report back when i get it if its not the same as stock i could use it as backup battery when im camping so for 12 bucks worth

2430mAh batter - look legit?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....sPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en#ht_2408wt_1141
I'm sceptical of ebay, however 2430mAh without changing the dimensions of the phone, they have great feedback. Will this give me an extra 38% or so of battery life? Or is it probably just a sham...
looks interesting, the price is skeptikal but the posting of it seems legit.. at least in my own opinion, don't really know until someone orders it and runs a battery test
and just a FYI, the genuine 2000 mAh extended battery makes the phone bigger but barely... and the phone feels a lot better with the extended battery.
I'd consider buying it, really wouldn't mind someone else's opinion first though. I already have the 2200 man battery, so I'm not quite sure if this would be worth changing for...

if that battery is not bigger than the gsm 2000mah extended battery(ie it doesnt need a new back cover) theres no way its 2400mah. when it comes to batteries oem is the highest quality so an after market one will need to be bigger to give more juice. you are right to be skeptical about aftermarket battery they always bs their mah ratings.

OP, that does not look legit at all.
Many times these batteries have a label showing a higher capacity...then when you peel it off the true capacity is underneath.
I'd bet its probably fake.

They also made it non-removable as well as ging it a huge bezel and a 4.3 inch screen, all while making it wider and only slightly shorter than the GNex.
This is a scam for sure. It's tempting though. But no.

I agree, had them for my og Evo, extended battery was decent, but on my Epic touch it was far less than satisfying.
I am waiting on one from Gorilla gadgets, the extended battery i got for my Epic touch was good. Hopefully it will be the same with my GS3
There extended battery for my og evo worked great for almost two years. But I messed up using a rom with trickle charging. So go for the battery when it comes out, I know I will.

I agree too, their products are very reliable and the quality is superb, I bought an extended battery from them a few years ago for the Droid Inc and always got atleast 26+ hrs on it. Of course like any other battery, it too lost its juice after 2 years but I was very satisfied with its output. Right now there is no timetable on when the battery will be released (I sent Seidio an email and waiting for their response) but hopefully the battery isn't bulky enough that it sacrifices the phones' beauty.

Unknown battery (Power, 1800mAh)

Is this real 1800 mAh?
Because I can not find the mark, but seems legit to me since bol.com sells it.

So I bought this battery, this is a legit battery, it is a little bit bigger in size.
The stock backplate fits, but the only problem is that if your backplate misses some of those clips, it won't close nicely.
Anyway, I guess it is a good battery.

I would believe that it's true claimed capacity. 1800mAh is so called "within the range" of these dimensions. Anything beyond 1800mAh is a fake.
