[SOLVED!] I can't flash recovery! [SOLVED!] - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hi,
after two days, i could root my desire z. but now i can't flash recovery.img.
i wrote to command window:
adb push recovery-clockwork-3.0.2.4-vision.img /data/local/tmp/recovery.img
after that i can't flash it...
i verified that gfree is worked, after that it didn't let me to get # on command window. whan i am trying to write "adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/*" it says "Unable to chmod /data/ocal/tmp/gfree-verify: Operation not permitted"
so i can't use
# cd /data/local/tmp
# ./gfree -f -b hboot-eng.img -y recovery.img
# ./root_psn
# sync
commands without root sign(#)
what may be wrong?
PS. gfree -b and -y commands are not allowed... why?

[SOLVED!]
I solved the problem via installing latest version of rom manager... thanks!

./gfree -b:unknow option
# ./flash_image recovery recovery.img
./flash_image recovery recovery.img
# ./root_psn
./root_psn
cp: can't stat '/sdcard/Superuser.apk': No such file or directary
cp: can't stat '/sdcard/su': No such file or directary
is this consider something wrong?
should i continue the procedure?
Try to send files to phone one more time and try again.

make sure you didn't miss the star when
Code:
$ adb shell chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/*
Have you done this?
Code:
$ adb push su /sdcard/
$ adb push Superuser.apk /sdcard/

[Q] gfree -y: unknown operation... why?

Hi,
I had to return to stock rom for warranty and now i am trying to root it again. i have completed root and s-off operations but i can't enter recovery. when i select recovery from bootloader menu, i only see exclamation mark with black screen...
i entered these commands but second command gave me "gfree -y: unknown operation". how can i solve this?
Code:
4.a.2. gfree, install hboot and clockworkmod recovery
In the root shell (indicated by the #) that you got in the Temporary root section execute the following commands:
# cd /data/local/tmp
[B][U]# ./gfree -f -b hboot-eng.img -y recovery.img[/U][/B]
# ./root_psn
# sync
Means you are running an older version of gfree.
Only gfree 0.7 supports the -y arg.
You can find it here
(to find out what version of gfree you have, use ./gfree -v )

Thank you for your help but now the same command is giving me "./gfree: permission denied". why should it be?
Did you use the chmod command? Check the wiki, but it will probably be something like "chmod 755 /path/to/gfree"
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/*
Also the command might have to be:
/data/local/tmp/gfree -v
to run gfree, unless you cd to /data/local/tmp (or wherever you pushed gfree to), in which case the '.' in './gfree' means 'this directory'

Thank you all for help. Everyday i had another error. For example today i got psneuter error but i finally installed recovery...

[Q] Migration from F180K to E975 - what I did wrong?

Hi
I changed phone from Samsung Galaxy S2 To F180K and I'm digging few days to find out how to flash ROM and it's much more complicated than samsung way...
i wanted to migrate from F180K to E975:
- to get rid of Korean stuff,
- to check is WCDMA 900 available,
- to get rid of problems with incoming call, when phone is logged to LTE
What I did:
- flash to JB 4.1.2 via (LGMobile Support Tool) - F180K20I_00.kdz
- install FreeGee-beta.apk (from file, not from Google Play)
- Root with tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181103
- back up (only) EFS with FreeGee (Utilities\ Backup EFS)
- flash to NEU EUROPE OPEN 10B LGE975 (E97510B_00.kdz) from site:
http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=20
- Root again
- Restore EFS with FreeGee (Utilities\ Backup EFS)
and still don't know how to enable network signal (dead radio, sim is not logging to network)
I suppose I missed baseband backup (or bootloader unlock?)
Now I'm back to Korean F180K20I_00.kdz
What I did wrong?
sorry for my bad english
you need the right modem to use it.
european is not compatible to korea phone
Is there any way to backup modem from 180K and restore it after flash?
yes over adb
Thanks for detailed info

benseoul did something else, how do You think, will it work? (I would rather backup and restore my own baseband)

after my little tutorial, I have disabled Timer/alarm.... any idea how to enable it?
after testing plenty of CM roms I went back to stock ROM with LGMobile Support Tool (I think this is the only way atm).
and I was trying to find new way to migrate from F180K to E975.
to do this I used this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320817
new procedure was:
- stock rom is: F180K20K (JB 4.1.2)
- root with Motochopper (v1.0) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228613 - it seems to work fine
- backup modem with backup tool (file LG-G_BK_MOD.bat): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139861
- flash new rom NEU EUROPE OPEN 10D E97510D_00.kdz (JB 4.1.2) from here: http://lg-phone-firmware.com/index.php?id_mod=20
- factory reset
- result: no network, sd card ok (backup present on sd card)
- root with Motochopper (v1.0) : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2228613 - it seems to work fine
- restore modem with same backup tool (file LG-G_rec.bat): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139861
-result: modem ok, network works fine, BT,
but no WIFI, sd card missing
Q: is it fault of ROM ? backup or root method?
what i suspect:
- I found new version of motochopper (v1.1), with new Superuser.apk - maybe here is the problem? should I use new one? (but if I was able to make restore backup, then root is working fine...)
- maybe backup method contains too many files? should't be only one? (/dev/block/mmcblk0p1):

- or this is bad ROM for my F180K and I should use different one (I tried to flash E97510B_00.kdz but without success - no WIFI and sd card)
what do You think?
I'm pretty sure that WiFi is broken because of restore modem backup and sd card is disabled because of wrong ROM (E97510D_00).
- I changed root method to new motochopper v1.1 - didn't help
- I changed root method to ZV9-ZVB-Universal-Root : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2181103 - didn't help
in both cases Wifi is working (after flash to new ROM) but sd card is disabled...
I just found F180K which is working with E97510D ROM.
How to mount\reset\recover sd card?
Is there any developer here?
Have you found a solution thats working ? i'm having the same issue ... i want to escape from all this korean apps that anyway i dont understand..

You can use RootKeeper.apk to "survive" su binary when installing OTA update (you can root android 2.2 but no android 2.3.3)
Disable root keeper when making nandroid
When you have root you can modify it with flashing another rom
Please hit thanks button
