hey, I noticed there are great themes, boot animations, shutdown animations and what not in the themes & apps subforum from dhd.
but there is all crossed together, themes, apps, scripts, pictures, discussions
is there a collection or something? because the only sticky contains 4 themes, and that's not everything as I believe
I KNOW, I can use the search, but they are all called different.
Also I'm about to finish my own boot animation, and wonder if there's any collection where I could add it to
sorry for my bad english
EDIT: I also noticed, there is a splash screen collection http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=886467 , this is what I am looking for, but also for other things or maybe could someone open such a thread and let people collect their own and favorite stuff?
All themes will be in the forums started with [theme].
Usually these will contain framework, boot animations etc.
If you want to add your own, start a new thread and start it with [boot animation].
Hope this helps.

Hey all,
Is it possible to disable the boot animation, and instead of it have the screen show what files are loading (i mean something like on the kaiser nand android, where you would see what the system is loading after the splash screen)
Sorry if i am asking a stupid question, its just that to me it looks really cool
Yeah would be nice to have the output of logcat on screen instead of an animation.
ChainFire made a couple of apps that replace the bootanimation and show the logcat and dmsg. Not sure if its what your looking for but they're on the market anyway.
Punched in..
Just installed that app, pretty smart for a free app, fonts abit small but I not messed to see if you can change it, thanks for posting that

Hello,
I am a noob to android coming from wm6.5 and blackberry. I have been browsing the homescreen thread and would like to learn how to get my phone to look as great as the ones i have seen. is there a tutorial available or is it more so trial and error? when i see some of the screen details in the thread, it's like a foreign language to me.
TIA
Steve
Welcome to Android. Its much easier than you think. Some will be trial and error to get something just how you like it. Some is as easy as changing the launcher you use and applying themes. There are also tons of apps like desktop Visualizer, folder organizer, circle launcher, and many more that you can use to customize the look and feel of your device. You can also install different clocks or lockscreens and if you have rooted your phone and flashed a de-odexed rom you can use some of the themes you see posted here. My best advice is for you to look through "post your homescreen" type threads. Most people will list what apps they use and may share icons or wallpapers too. Use Google and Android Market to learn what some of those apps do. Many are free or very inexpensive. You could also look at the sticky posts in this thread, forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=527 for some more about theming. There is really no right or wrong, just do what you like and make your phone your own. Good luck.

Do you have root? Do you have a rom also? Which rom are you running? If you do not have root I recommend using zedomax's v3 root kernal to root.
No, i'm running completely stock for now. I was able to customize my homescreen using go launcher, simple text and WP clock that wil hold me over for a little while. I tried posting an image, but my noon status won't let me.

I need help. I have searched the forum but cant find the help i need.
Trying to create my first theme for Lewa Rom. On the whole im trundling along fine, using total commander and getting to grips with the fundementals, and currently working on icons.
Now the common apps im fine with, succesfully done all of those, but i am banging my head against a brick wall with file naming for user apps.
take foursquare for instance, ive tried naming the icon
com_android_foursquare
com_android_foursquared
com.joelapenna.foursquared
com_joelepenna_foursquared
Whatever I do i just cannot get the darned icons to work for user programs.
Help!
Themes for LeWa ROM supports a limited (only standard) set of applications.

Would someone be so kind as to create a mod or a zips of various boot animations. I seen some really cool ones on some of the roms I have used. Like the sonic boot on freegs3 or the android robot pissing on the apple in the people's rom. I would like to be able to use them types of boot animations with different roms.
Apple just give up the IPHONE sucks deal with it.

I think simply pushing the /media folder of the zip would do this for you.
Check out boot animation changer on Google Play. Tons of animations in that app.
Edit: One user notes on there that this specific app doesn't work on S3 but there are some others you could try or still try this. Who knows ymmv. I have used apps that others say won't work on a specific phone yet still worked for me.

So I've installed a bunch of ROMs on my phones since I've been using Android. I've noticed that many ROMs include some kind of theme support. I happen to be on Xenon right now, for example, and there are options for themes in the settings. I've seen this in a lot of ROMs though.
I'm completely new to the idea of themes for my phone, and I was wondering if there was a place (or an app) where I could download themes for my phone to be used in this way (I looked at the mycolorscreen website, which is awesome, but doesn't appear to be for the same thing as the themes in these ROMs?)
Also, I was wondering what themes you guys used and liked.

Use this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29455970
That thread is a mega collection of themes for AOSP ROMs with the theme chooser engine. Although all of the themes (Literally over 1000!) are great, nothing beats stock android.
Suggestion, though. Search up a theme called Gem Flat by xIC-MACIx. One of the best themes I've ever seen for Android
