Has anyone gotten their hands on the A100 yet?
I am wondering if it has a built in GPS and I can't seem to find any official spec list anywhere.
I don't think it's available yet...
Yes it is available on superbiiz.com
Also, on the ACER website, if you click on Press, you will see the announcement.
Sorry, I can't post outside links yet.

It looks like it has GPS, at least on the one in this youtube video hands on:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ec85k4gdW6A
If you look closely at about 0:49, the do a close up of the spec sheet and it includes GPS. This site also has a spec list that includes GPS.
http://www.teknohive.com/136/acer-iconia-tab-a100-tablet-with-android-3-0/
The A100 looks pretty nice. I like the screen of the A500 for watching movies but I had to admit that I miss the light weight of my Nook Color.
Thanks for the video.
The website with the specs also states that it will release in Q1 2011 and has it listed at 512mb of RAM. More recent sites, including superbiiz, state that it has 1gb of RAM, and it clearly didn't release in Q1. The video also says that it has 512mb of RAM so that is unclear as well.
I emailed SuperBiiz since they seem to be the only retailer with it in stock and they told me that it did not have GPS . . . but customer service isn't always the best at knowing product information, so I am not taking that to heart.
The contradiction of information is very frustrating and could easily be solved by Acer just posting official specs on their site.
Unless more info surfaces, I may just wait until it hits Amazon and other major retailers.
I really want to get rid of my Archos 70 tablet because it is running 2.2, missing a rear camera, gps, compass, and only has 256mb RAM. It was a nice starter device to see if I would use tablets, but I am tired of its missing features. If the A100 doesn't have a GPS, I will end up waiting for the Huawei Mediapad, which I don't want to do since I have heard some problems with the rate in which they update firmware.
1GB RAM and GPS confirmed on the US model.
Just saw one last night in Walmart in Southern California.

If all that is true, then T-mobile can have their HD7. I'd be much happy with this.
More pictures!
Nothing breathtaking but maybe the best looking WP7 device by HTC so far.
Lets hope the rumors of a 1.3GHz Snapdragon processor and a 1400mAh battery is true.

It's funny how people build up unrealistic expectations and then get disappointed.
As Nietzsche once said, hope dies last, I would kill it first.
Thats unrealistic?
Looks like the Samsung Cetus has a 1500mAh battery.
But hey... lets hope it has the same specs as all the others, so we won't get disappointed.
Oh wait!... I have a better idea, lets don't care at all.
I wish I could quote some fancy philosopher here... or do I?
Samsung Cetus i8700 is prob the best looking so far and with really good specs. I just hope a 16GB flavour is offered for that model.

What's the point in hoping when you know already that it'll have the same specs. Don't know about the battery though.

hoping? there are multiple reports out claiming that it will be 1.3, no one is blindly speculating.some people see the cup half full, but I guess you see it as wheats the point of looking?
Whatever. Microsoft said all devices will use the same chip. You can fantasize about those "multiple reports" as much as you like. There have been multiple "leaks" reposting Photoshop renders made by xda members just for fun, with big blogs copypasting things without thinking. Most of these "reports" had the same source.
Of course many of the blogs out there are wrong and start chirping what the one before them said. But no one is blindly predicting or "hoping" something out of reach like a phone with a 3.0 ghz quad core with 1 gb graphics either. Regardless of what microsoft said it is very possible that there will be a phone with more than 1 ghz, possibly even a 1.3 ghz, within the next year.
Next year, sure. Just not at launch. If this Mondrian is launched this "holiday season" it's getting the same chip as others. Easy as that.

"Really!"
Depends if its sold out because of lack of stock, like what happened with the Euro launch. Not really worth mentioning unless the number of units sold is known.

actually it still shows demand is higher than expectation, regardless of the figures this is still a good sign. MS is putting in this much work on something they expected to have low initial sales shows they are looking at a longer picture. I still firmly believe that this first batch of devices is just a soft launch and we will soon see the real push once MS has patched the holes that are being used to attack them. I think MS are doing a great job with the software and if they can get the right push then the sales will show reward for there effort. I don't think it will be to long before we see stands in shopping centres demoing phones and pushing the brand but MS will want everything in place first.
I am one of Thai who rushed to buy HD7 on the first day it launched.
It seems like a good news that HD7 has been sold out. Anyway, what I know is that only 500 units are coming into Thailand, just to test the market.
Many people delay their decisions to buy WP7 as there is no Thai (also east Asian language) support. WP7 now cannot display Thai language. Thai can be typed via the third party application that allows posting only to SMS, e-mail, facebook status, and foursquare shout.
Also, we cannot buy any applications from marketplace as it has not yet supported Thailand.
It sounds strange why MS has chosen to launch its product in Thailand without Thai language support. I'm quite sure that East Asian language support is still not yet to come in this coming minor update in February.

It's a simple enough concept, why haven't I seem this anywhere and where would I be able to get one?
But I can't get just any attachment, I need one that fits my phone, which is a G2.
My Question: Is there an adjustable version of this? one that will fit onto an phone and can be adjusted to work with most?
I've been wondering this for over a year now.
I don't see why not. It doesn't seem like a difficult or expensive concept by any means.
Just thought of something:
what about a micro-usb camera that can be plugged into the phone and used as a front facing camera? is that even possible on android?
That's an interesting concept.
Do you have a link to this product?

No!!!
Click this link!!! OneMoreFace!!!
And then check the second link on the list!!!
It is a nice PS job!!!
You're welcome
well the idea is great. Looks possible and should be expensive but I think it will require some software which uses the back camera while video call (don't know if it already exists or not though it shouldn't be hard on an andriod). I have not seen this or anything similar for sale as of now.
This sounds like a job for a 3d printing hobbyist!
If people are interested and willing to fund development (can't be more than $30 per prototype print), I would be willing to create a 3d-printable universal version.
I already have a project that is somewhat similar (creating a universal accessory to expand the functionality of your phone) to get an idea of what I am capable of, see it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1476571
What I would need from you guys is ideas about what kind of mirrors could be used. They would have to be readily available to nearly everybody and easily fitted into the holder. The plan is likely going to be, you can order the 3d-printed project from a 3d printing service, then either go to your local store or some sort of online store and get the mirrors separately.
that seems like a pretty good idea but then you would have to carry around a fragile mirror.
http://wmpoweruser.com/o2-germany-claims-to-have-a-32-gb-nokia-lumia-900/
O2 Germany is offering the Nokia Lumia 900 in white for pre-order.

This is not your run of the mill Nokia Lumia 900 however. Besides being in glossy white., the smartphone is also uniquely offering 32 GB of storage. The handset is limited to 16 GB elsewhere.
O2 Germany is also offering a 32 GB HTC One X, whereas USA is being offered the 16 GB version, making it possible the company has indeed decided to offer increased storage.
We are reaching out to Nokia to find out more, but in the mean time salivate over the spec bump at O2 Germany here.
Update: We called O2 Germany customer service, and they confirmed the specs. Time to pop the champagne cork
Update2: A picture from the O2.de catalogue also confirms the 32 GB specs.

People have been whining about this... good thing when Nokia actually listened and responded. Let's see all other OEM to do the samething.
Have always noticed that Germany always gets the best storage options, it was the same with the Omnia 7.
I just had a feeling for the need of bigger storage than 16GB when i filled the whole phone with just a few apps and my 13GB of Music.
Never thought that i may need that much.
meh. O2 has (compared to T-Mobile, Vodafone) a really bad mobile network when it comes to data connection. slow and bad reception (at least in my area). I'd like to have it as open amrket phone or at least on another provider.
Good but why only for Germany ffs?? I heard the that is one of the countries where WP sells better, but giving them such kind of benefits doesn't sound right to me...
Sent from my Lumia 800 using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
I hope it will be for 199€ + 13€ shipping to CZE just as my Omnia7 was

why is it not right? this device will be more expensive than the 16GB version. and AT&T got in the HTC HD7 a new AMOLED display that in Europe not was, and? nobody complained
Has been taken back as an error. Catalogue says 16 GB now.
Damn, I was seriously considering to order it from eBay Germany or something like that, I would love 32GB.
When every top smartphone manufacturer is focussing on releasing flagships that approach the phablet space, here’s Elephone with its newest and an smallest Android smartphone, Elephone Q – you might mistake it to be a normal smartphone, however, features like activity tracking and pedometer makes it a perfect pocket sized phone to double as your phone and your fitness tracker.
The Big – tiny specs
Elephone Q packs a 550 mAh battery, a single SIM slot, measures at 90x 43x 11.5mm with a 2.4-inch TFT display and a resolution of 432×240. Like most of the smartphones these days it features a front camera of 0.3 Mega Pixels and rear camera of 3 Mega-Pixels that will be extended to 5MP using software support, SD memory card support up to 64GB, Wi-Fi, 3G WCDMA, 1GHz MediaTek MT6572 Chipset and with Android 4.4 KitKat as its Operating System.

Elephone Q according to the official specs boasts of 110hours of standby time or 4hours of talk time which is pretty good for a palm sized smartphone. The back cover is made of plastic which can be swapped to other colors.
Elephone Q is one of those unique devices that target the lower-entry level smartphones, it will be really interesting to see what type of market Elephone is trying to target and see if we can see this trend being continued in the future. The pricing of the device is yet to be disclosed. We feel it will be priced around $40.

I ordered one. it does have GPS but no compass.
550mAh
lol.
I wud like 2 play gta san andreas in it
someone has played San Andreas on it, well a version of it, the Posh Mobile Micro x S240. (both based off the Alps S240B I believe)
I just got one of these (The Posh Mobile one) today. so far its interesting, paid 50 dollars US for it, wanted to see what it was all about. yes its small REALL SMALL lol, only dual core 1 ghz, 4gb storage, 512 mb ram, 2.45 inch screen. but funny thing, at least in benchmarks, its not as bad as I expected lol. I read about the screen size and was still surprised when I opened the package today. it reminds me of a old Samsung MP3 player from like 12 years ago. a very slim one (YP-T9, but without the dpad). Been loading various tools and such on it to see how it does. the Camera is nothing special lol. but I can deal with that
Does somebody have it? If so, can you please confirm if Pokemon Go runs on it both through 3G connection and hotspot from other device? It is for a project I've got in mind. Thx in advance!!
