Hi,
I've searched a lot for my issue, but seems to me that im not getting the solution probably because this is my first android, my first root, and my first custom firmware install.
I rooted my HTC Desire with Unrevoked 3 and tried installing the Oxygen Custom ROM RC7. Rooting went okay. I tried installing the Oxygen ROM and it gets stuck in a loop at the Oxygen Logo.
Now, i did notice other people having the same troubles but there were no solutions to offer for that. Also i think a part of the problem may be the jargans, nevertheless i tried to search for a solution but could not find one.
Was really looking forward to Ginger bread. Any Help ?
Do a full wipe (data/factory reset, cache and dalvik cache under advanced) and flash again. Also keep in mind that the boot up time is longer than a normal boot. (not more than 5 to 10 min)
when i booted the oxygen rc6 the first time it got stuck too... after almost 20 min. i just removed the battery and booted again and it worked

Thanks!!!! It worked i actually didnt go into advanced to wipe my dalvik cache.....worked like a charm...
HI... i updated my phone with cyanogen 7 rc2, but after it booted up it's stuck in the animation that says cyanogen mod 7 , and the blue android sign... in comes than goes, again it comes... about 20 min stuck... what to do???
It sounds like you need to go into recovery mode and delete all your caches. If you are using ClockworkMod recovery do the following (make sure you are backed up first):
Delete all user data and info (under wipe data/ factory reset),
Wipe cache (under wipe cache partition),
Wipe Dalvik Cache (under advanced).
Then once you've done that try installing and running the ROM again.
i done that one time... for info im using AmonRA.. i cleaned all the cache and everything also... and installed again... nothing happens... fortunately i restored my nand backup and booted my phone with the OTA again... waiting for some answer.... do u think that installing stable version can fix this?
Sounds like a bad flash. I had rc2 running for a month or so with no issues. I've had times when the rom just doesn't install properly ans reflashing fixes it.
Download the zip again, if possible check md5 to make sure it's all good, make sure you have the desire/bravo GSM version, clear everything and flash just the rom and nothing else. If it boots, then go back and flash your gapps and whatever else you want.

thx for replying.. as i was waiting for your reply, i download the cm 6 that is a stable version and checked, it has the same problem too.. i also downloaded GingerVillain 1.6 and it had the same problem too. do u think the problem might be that my phone is "s-on"? and how should i know if my phone is s-on or s-off... when i was rooting my phone with unrevoked, i checked the option that says disable security, but i'm not sure if it's disabled.... because i can't install un-signed zip packages....
any reply?
That definitely sounds odd. Its definitely not an issue with S-ON/OFF, nothing you've done here requires S-OFF to work properly.
Lets just make sure you're following all the steps.
In amonra, you've done your nandroid backup, so no need to do it again. There's no point having a non working backup
Go to wipe and wipe data/factory reset
Wipe davlik cache
Wipe sd-ext (shouldn't need to do this one as you don't have apps2sd yet, but better to be safe)
Now you flash your update.zip, then reboot and you should be fine. The only other thing I can perhaps suggest if every rom you flash sticks at boot is to perhaps try clockwork recovery instead of amonra. Apart from that we might have to wait for folks more knowledgeable than myself cause I'm all out of ideas.
thx for reply.... in meanwhile , i s-off ed my phone and it has the same problem too... i have problem with all cm and gingervillain roms.. but i don't have any problem with leedriod... one more question that maybe the problem is that i have android 2.2 installed, but gingervillain and cm use android 2.3 ... this maybe the problem.... and that's why leedroid works right, because it uses android 2.2.... i'm going to check OxyGen roms... i will post the result here...
i also faced same problem CM7 .. i tried CM6 and it went on fine..
heyyy... right after i posted the reply , i went to recovery and wiped anything, then installed gingervillain 1.6, and everything's fine now... it booted up and now im setting it up.... im going to check the cm 7 too.
i tried cm7 rc2 ... and it was fine and now im using it... here's a how to for solving the problem...:
1.S-OFF your device with AlphaRev : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=805811
2.Install the AlphaRev Recovery(S-OFF Image will do it automatically).
3.Go to recovery and install the rom...
4.Boot up and it should not go to system and it should stay in loop as the problem was..
5.Now you should reboot your device into recovery... there are two ways to do this... either take the battery off and put it on, then boot to bootloader by pressing the volume down and the power key and select recovery , or the second way connect it to your computer and start adb and run this command:
adb reboot recovery
6.In AlphaRev recovery first wipe the cache partition , wipe user data, and factory reset...
7.then install the rom (either cm7 or gingervillain)...
8. boot up , and now you have the system running...
This solved my problem... reply if it didn't yours...
hooo.. it worked for me now. just kept update.zip in a new SD card and not flashed google apps..
im very happy that i solved one's problem.. ... thread marked as solved...
*UPDATE* : now i realized that we can mark it as solved.. !!! hehe.. Admin do it for us...
Hi all !
Yesterday I wanted to try Cyanogen on my Desire, an I did so with a nightly build.
I just wanted to test it : I'm actually so much Sense-addicted ^^"
But, when I tried to flash my regular RCMixS v06, it didn't work, I was stuck on HTC Logo. Then, I tried to flash Modaco's update.zip file wich I used to root my phone, but, again, it didn't work. Now I'm stuck with a "onlyCM" Desire, which is pretty inconvenient :s
I'm asking you this question : what can I do?

Hi,
Did you check to make sure you had a compatible radio version?
Also, I would suggest clear Dalvik Cache and Wipe.
let me know how it goes
Do a full wipe:
Go into recovery - mounts and storage - format boot - format system - format data - format cache - then format sd-ext if you have it then exit that menu and goto advance and do a wipe on Dalvik cache
this is old style full wipe, works for me every time.
Hope you come right.
EDIT: After full wipe install ROm of choice..
Thanks Grobiedeb, it has worked
I rooted the incredible using unrevoked, no problem.
Installed and ran root apps, no problem, backed up everything using titanium backup and rom manager (nandroid) and so forth, installed cw recovery 3.0.0.8.
When I install the skyraider 4 rom from rom manager, it reboots and installs, but then when it reboots again it hangs at the white htc incredible screen (and I've let it wait as long as a half an hour). I have to take out the battery to be able to reboot it.
I can boot back to recovery and then re-install and boot back to the stock rooted rom just fine. But I can't get a new rom installed and working.
I've looked at previous threads about this problem:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038402
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1023358
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991953
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=739646
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=620621
and several other threads on other sites.
The only suggestions to come out of those, other that starting over from scratch (which I've done multiple times now), were to reformat the sd card, which I've also done, and to downgrade to cm recovery 2.5.1.2. Rom manager only shows versions as old as 3.0.0.5. I have put the PB31IMG.zip file on the sd card and loaded that before to help recover but I don't see how that helps with installing a new rom.
Any other suggestions? The main reason I even need a new rom is because bluetooth doesn't work in the stock rom (known issue: http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/android/f/91/p/2336/8570.aspx )
It sounds like you are not wiping cache and Davlik (in advanced). The constant reboot of the white screen is a classic symptom of not performing a cache and Davlik wipe

appreciate your help, yeah I've been doing that everytime in rom manager. I tried it several times manually in cm recovery, too, and still the white screen.
I'll just see if verizon can exchange it, or else I'll sell it for another phone with working bluetooth.
Might try reverting to the 2.5.1.2 recovery as I've heard the 3.x.x.x ones don't wipe consistently.

.
There is a flash of CWM 2.5 that temporarily lets you use that to flash the rom then when you reboot it will revert back. Try that.
HI
well I rooted my desire using the Full update Guide for the HTC desire (GSM) on the cyanogenmod wiki site.
that installed fine, after a while i decided to download and flash one of LEEDroids ROMS
the installation went fine, but when it started to boot up the sequence kept on repeating.
not knowing what was happening, I went to the recovery memory and used the wipe option.
Eventually I found the restore option, and bought back the cyanogenmod rom.
I have tried many other ROMS and the result is the same, the boot up sequence keeps on repeating...
NEED HELP !!!

make sure to wipe dalvic cache (from advanced options) and format everything i.e. boot, system, userdata, cache and sd-ext (from mounts and storage) (apart from sdcard!!!!!) (IF you're using clockworkmod recovery), then proceed to install a new ROM.

HELP
You have to be patient on first boot, it can take 10-15 minutes before it progresses beyond that stage.
Or you failed repartitioning sd card.
Do you have 1gb+ ext3/4 partition?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Yeah first boot took ages for me to the point I was gonna unplug, glad I didn't, not sure if you get the notifications bar on boot though so think something might not be right! I'd restore and try again, like K3lcior said check partitioned correctly, I kept watching the video's on linkslovesandroids link until I had it in my head,
Right, I'll. Have to check that.
Thnx for the advise
