I really need help guys plz help me i dont how to fix this it all started when i apply the new wimax radio if u can help im a android fan
Might help to explain what you are trying to do when you get this error.
Also when requesting help, try to include the following info:
1) hardware & software versions
2) the recovery & rom you are using
3) the problem you are having
4) what are you doing when the problem occurs
5) what are the expected results
6) any error messages you encounter
Sorry if I'm long winded. I work in a help desk. Providing accurate details always makes it easier to find potential solutions.
you're probably talking about the "Error Code 67" message that says your Sprint PCS Vision username / password are incorrect or something like that. Basically that is sprint's way of saying its not recognizing your phone's credentials on its network. if so, the simple way to fix this is call sprint and go thru their tech support until you get escalated to a real technician who will inadvertently give you your phone's MSL. (or find out your msl some other way) and will try to walk you thru the rest of the process of restoring your data profile.
but, if you want to try it yourself:
open phone app, type ##3282#
enter unlock code (6 digit msl)
>Edit Mode>Data Profile>(Menu Button)>Restore

I get this once in a while. Usually rebooting fixes it.

Rooted phones? ^^^
Have yet to get this error.
I used to get this silly error on my blackberry too so I doubt it is simply because my Evo is rooted.
Hmm. Can't wait to 67 for the first time.
im not sure if you said your rooted or on stock rom, if your rooted you need to be running the stock rooted rom, then go to the section where you can update your prl and profile. update both it will act like its not working but it will say updated successfully, reboot, then should fix issue.
Just update your profile and PRL whenever you get this after doing a reboot, and reboot again.
It happens to everyone, it just means Sprint's network had a hiccup, or you tried to turn on Sprint's hotspot app or HTC's wired tether without paying for it.

Ditto. I agree this usually works... Sometimes just a profile update is enough.
As far as the comments about "Rooting" being the cause... I saw the error 67 Data Failure at initial boot out of the box as the phone was being activated

Are there any other suggestions for this? both profile and PRL update attempts fail because this error blocks the data connection completely. I have also never attempted to use sprint hotspot or any other tethering options.
1) hardware & software versions
-Hardware: 0003
-Software:
--Firmware Version: 2.1 -update1
--Baseband Version: 2.05.00.06.10
--Kernel Version: 2.6.29-789bf291 [email protected] #1
--Build Number: 1.47.651.1 CL195459 release-keys
2) the recovery & rom you are using
-unsure?
3) the problem you are having
-constant "Error code 67"
4) what are you doing when the problem occurs
-anything, most common with any data operations or activating the 4g connection
5) what are the expected results
-not getting an error. having access to data
6) any error messages you encounter
-"Error code 67"

Just FYI, if you saw that on launch day (and especially if you don't live on the East coast) that was due to Sprint's authentication servers being overwhelmed from all the new data and phone activations. Literally took two hours and three calls to Customer Service to get my phone's data connection fully activated and clear out the Error 67 messages.

Have you gone to a Sprint corporate store or nagged customer service lately? What ROM are you currently running?
I was on phone for 4 hours yesterday with same issue...no data due to error 67....finally a hard reset solved my problem. It reprovisioned data immediately upon reboot. Just make sure you fully backup before doing so. I used titanium backup and I'm good to go now with data.

I started getting this out of the blue this morning, all morning. Kept trying to update profile, but that wouldn't work. Kept power cycling, update profile through 3g, then update profile through wifi. Eventually it went through, took a while and many tries though.
Sent from my blah blah blah blah
the thing was it was updating but then the error would pop right up shortly after... but now all the sudden its been ok... so i guess ill wait it out until the replacement gets here and if its still ok i guess ill send the replacement back

I'm getting the same Error.. But I'm on Cricket network.. what would I need to change ...
Hi guys, I have tried to search for a thread on this but wasn't able to find one.
So after installing the latest CM 7, for some reason my phone has been unable to receive calls. I can *MAKE* calls perfectly fine, but zero calls are coming in. Wifi and GPS both work fine. I notice the 3G/service bars do work, but go blank for long periods of time sometimes too.
I've wiped all data dozens of times, did a nandroid restore back to Myn's RLS3, flashed radios again, wiped again... still unable to receive calls. I've tried to update profile and PRL at each step of wiping, but nothing works.
Now, I'm on the latest stock rooted ROM. Do I need to un-root and take this back to the store?
Anyone have this happen to them? I would really prefer not to have to go to Sprint...
In case anyone else has this issue in the future: a quick trip to the Sprint store fixed my problem. They said all they did was a hard reset, but I think it was more complicated than that. I didn't have access to a land line, but in the future I'm going to try to do it with customer service over the phone.
Thanks for all the (non-existent) help XDA.
Here's my story: I had the exact same problem with my evo! I rooted it and I would flash ROMS like there was no tomorrow. Sometimes I would flash 4 or 5 different ROMS in a day. I tweaked all the settings, like 3g speeds, sd card fix, and any other ones you can think of. I messed with every possible setting and changed stuff and even flashed different kernels every now and then. Well, it started out by just not receiving a call every once in a while and then progressively got to the point of not receiving ANY calls at all. It wouldn't even ring or have a missed call notification. My husband would stand right next to me and try calling me to no avail. Frustration is alive at that point!I could make calls, connect to the web, and send text messages with no problems whatsoever. I had tried every tech support troubleshooting step that you could think of, even changing the MSID number. Well, after talking one last time to sprint, we both agreed that I needed a new phone. And my new phone is en route! Of course, now that I am getting a new one, I have to send the other one back to them- So I have to UNROOT it, right? RIGHT! I did just that and LOW AND BEHOLD, I am receiving ALL calls, now. But I'm still gonna let them send me that new one. I read somewhere that using an older ROM with updated radios or WIMAx and vice versa could be the culprit of not receiving calls.
Hope this helps anyone out there that is having that problem!!!
I had a similar problem with my EVO 0003 in that it would not receive calls. It was working fine then one day it stopped receiving calls. I tried reinstalling roms and restoring a nandroid backup but neither of those fixed it. I also tried updating my data profile which did not help. The last thing I tried which I believe fixed it was reflashing the PRI. I was using PRI 1.77 and flashed the newer PRI 1.90 and it started to receive calls again. I then flashed back to 1.77 because it seems to help the battery life on my phone. Since then(one month ago) I have no problems. Flashing a PRI is done via recovery. In Recovery select flash zip and choose a PRI, then select reboot. It will then go to a different screen an install the PRI. Do not pull the battery or mess with the phone while it is installing the PRI or you will brick your phone. After installation it will reboot or return to recovery (can't remember which) where you can reboot(if in recovery) the phone into your ROM.

I rooted my friend's EVO using the "HTC EVO - Universal Auto Root v2.4" method ... everything went well... hotspot working, internet... but
she cannot make or receive calls. It says "error 16". She cannot send or receive text messages either.
What's error 16???
Please help
Has she tried flashing another rom?
Not yet. I tried to update her profile and PRL but still having the same error.
is the phone on sprint? if so the phone is gonna transfer you iver to a representative they will fix it for you all you have to do is give then the account info
Having a SUPER weird issue.
I can't receive texts. I can send them but can't receive them.
The ONLY way I receive texts is what I go on the phone.
For example, when I call someone, as SOON as it says "connected", I'll start getting all the texts then. Or when someone calls me and I answer, soon as I pick up I'll get them all.
Everything was fine last night until I did something that some developers recommended. It didn't fix my previous, however, it gave me a NEW issue now. But I used my backup to restore it and now this is happening. Any clue on how to fix it?
Try updating profile.
Or you may need to use the msl code and reset data (it's one of the options in there) but you need your msl.

I just tried the profile update. It said "Updated profile. Changes will now take affect." But it didn't solve the issue. I even tried restarting. Nothing.
How do I reset the data? I got my MSL code (using MSL reader) but I can't figure out how to reset it. I'm on Sprint Lovers app right now.
Also, thank you for trying to help.
