[Q] Help Me! - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I downloaded Task29 and then when I ran it all I get is a splash screen and nothing after that cant do anything or reinstall a rom? Someone please help

I think you do mistakes somewhere so I recommend use instructions from (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649191 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=5845908&postcount=1) :
1. Connect to PC via Active Sync/WMDC.
2. Execute Task 29.
3. When phone boots to "Touch Pro 2" screen (or whatever your splash screen happens to be), I hold down the volume down button while hitting the reset button.
4. Once I'm on the Bootloader screen, and it shows "USB", I flash the new ROM from the PC as I normally would.
5. When the phone vibrates, indicating the ROM upgrade is complete, I disconnect the phone from the computer.

ROM upgrade failed !!!

Hi everybody,
I look through the threads and I couldn't find a solution to my troubles. So here it is: I just bought a htc touch pro 2 which came with a window mobile 6.1. Before I transferred anything from my old phone, I thought better to do the official upgrade to 6.5 ROM version 1.86.401.0.
I wanted to flash the ROM through a USB cable as described on the HTC site, but after after having done 22% of the work, everything got stuck. And 5' minutes afterward the update windows on the PC disappeared and I had to disconnect the phone!!!
So now I have a beatiful telephone, which cannot boot up. Indeed, it gets stuck in the 4 colors bootloader.
i) I tried to do a factory reset (pressing power, send hang up buttons) to no avail.
ii) I tried to take out the batteries and pull them in again, then switching on the phone holding down the vol down + power up buttons, then reset.
iii) reconnecting the phone back to the PC by usb, I was never able to get a switch from "serial" to "usb"
Nothing is working, if anybody has an idea what I could try next.... I am wondering if it is possible to flash the phone from the SD card. I am really a newbie here.
Thanks
Max
Yea .. same thing happened to me ..

*Go into BootLoader Mode (do a Soft Reset while holding the "volume down" key on the left side of the device. Keep holding the "volume down" key until you see tricolour screen which is the bootloader mode, then release it)
Flashing Via MicroSD Card
1. Make sure your microSD is Formatted to fat32 (you dont have to delete all files but it is safer if you do)
2. Download your prefered Rom from the Rhodium Rom Develpoment Page and unzip/unrar it to your PC
3. Goto the Roms Folder and rename the .nbh file to RHODIMG.nbh
4. Copy the RHODIMG.nbh file to the root of your MicroSD Card
5. Plug the MicroSD Card into the phone
6. Enter the BootLoader screen, you will first see a tri-color screen with the phone and SPL Information at the top
7. Follow the On Screen instructions to start the update
8. After flash has completed, press the reset button with the stylus to reset the device.
Good Luck ! Worked For me !
Thanks for your help and the link to the thread!! I will use your approach next time. Indeed, in the day afterwards I was able to finally flash the phone from the same PC. I did the manipulation, which failed miserably, with a 64 bit Windows 7 RC. Then, I realised I had another version of W7 on the same PC, a 32 bit version this time. Thus, when I tried it with my dying telephone, the "serial" message on its screen switched "magically" to "usb" and I finally could flash the damned mobile! Frankly, I don't know what's wrong with my 64bit W7 if anything.
Cheers

Did you try the stock rom from HTC loaded over the usb first?
Information about what unlocker you tried to use, what kind of phone you have, what kind of rom you tried to load would be helpful.

[Q] bricked tilt 2

help please!
i preformed task 29 on my tilt 2 and i now have an ATT screen and wont go any further. when i try to stat it it only goes as far as the first screen and no further. i tried resting it to no avail. i can not establish connection with pc. i have vista for pc. can somebody help please?
Yes. now u preformed that, you want to plug in your USB. Push reset and the lower volum button at the same time. You will go into boot loader mode. It should say USB on the bottom once u have made a connection after connecting your USB to the computer. At that point flash your Radio, after flashing your radio, flash your rom. All like you normaly would ..
PS. make sure Sim and MScard is out of phone before preforming Flashing Radio, then the rom. Then replace the sim card after all the installation from the rom you are installing..
First go back to the task 29 post and read all the instructions.
Task 29 is a memory wiper,it completely wipes the memory of the device leaving only the radio and basic functions.
To get up and running again follow these instructions:
1. Download the newest stock rom for ATT found in the Rom Development forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=737168
2. Remove back cover from the device, remove the battery, remove the SIM card and remove the SD card if you have one. Reinstall the battery, do not replace the back cover.
3. Power up the device and connect it to the PC. Press the down volume button and press and hold the stylus into the reset button, hold both until the boot screen appears. Windows may install some software at this time, let the software install.
4. When USB appears at the bottom of the boot screen run the ROM installer software run. Follow ALL on screen instructions.
NOTE: If you have Hard SPL installed you can install any custom ROM, if not you MUST install a STOCK SHIPPED ROM.

First of all check to see if your phone is hardspl'ed by turning phone completely off then hold volume down key then power phone back on from here you should be on tri-color screen see what the spl version says if it says 0.85Olinex it's hardspl'ed anything else is not hardspl'ed.
If your phone is hardspl'ed then your good all task29 does is wipe your entire os off your phone thats why it won't boot to nothing but the startup screen so in order for it to boot you need to flash a rom on to it, so like before power phone off hold volume down key & power phone on you should be on tri-color screen again at the bottom of phone screen it should say serial now plug in usb from computer now it should say usb at the bottom of phone find a rom that you like then flash it phone should reboot after flash & work like normal once again.
Hope this helps
thank you all you guys. you all were awesome. as you could imagine, i am new to wm. but with the help of every body, i got my phone up and running.

[GUIDE] Restoring Phone from Soft-Brick and FAQ [7/11]

!!!!!!!NOTE!!!!!!!
USE TEENYBIN IN DEV SECTION
!!!!!!!!NOTE!!!!!!
Hi All,
I've noticed that there isn't a guide that contains all the information for restoring your phone to a stock state. I recently soft-bricked my phone, and with the help of XDA and the members at IRC I was able to restore my phone. Most of these methods will require you LGNPST ; however, we'll also attempt to fix with restoring backups and flashing new roms.
Accessing Recovery Screen (First Step if you have bricked your phone)
This is our initial step for any problems that might arise. If you can access recovery, usually you're in a perfectly fine situation.
1. Power off your phone by holding Volume down & power at the same time.
2. When the screen shuts off, switch to entering fastboot by holding Volume Up & Power. Release immediately once you see a black screen with some text on the bottom.
3. You should see a black screen with some text at the bottom.
4. Press volume down 2x and then the power button.
5. You should see either TWRP or CWM recovery.
6. Wipe Cache, Dalvic Cache, and Factory Wipe
7. Flash new stock zip. Wipe caches again.
8. Restart.
I don't have a zip in my local storage!!!!
It's okay. We can still fix this. All we need to do is sideload the zip.
On PC or Mac
1. Download the Android SDK HERE or Download Files Located below.
2. Place files on Desktop.
3. Enter Terminal or Console
4. Go to your desktop by entering
cd /Users//Desktop
The is your unique information.
On Phone
1. Do step 1 -5 above.
2. On TWRP go to advanced and place your phone in ADB mode.
3. Wait for the terminal screen to come on.
After setting up the above
1. Go back to your PC and type the below.
For Windows remove the "./"
./adb sideload .zip
2. On terminal you should see the percentile for the upload.
3. Wait.
4. Do steps 6-8 on Accessing Recovery Screen
LGNPST(No Direct Links)
Getting the files to revert back to stock can only be accessed from IRC or private message me. Please, DO NOT SHARE the link.
For anyone at IRC, if I provide to much information, I will be more than willing to pull information.
IRC Here
After you've acquired the Auto-LGNPST and the .tot file which can be accessed from the Sprint Directory.
1. Run install.bat to install the necessary programs. If you are using Windows Vista or later then Run install.bat as Administrator (Right click install.bat and click Run as Administrator)
2. Download the proper factory image (should end with .tot) and rename the file from .tot to .bin (if it ends with .zip, gzip, .rar, .7z, .tar, etc. than you need to extract it first)
3. Plug your phone into the computer. Then put your phone in download mode, continue reading if your not sure how. From then power off state press and hold Volume Up + Down and then press Power. If this does not work then try again except release the power before the LG logo shows up. The phone's screen will says "Download Mode Do Not Unplug".
4. Wait for the drivers to be detected and installed. Once they are run LGNPST. To do so do the following: Click Start - All Programs (if applicable) - LGNPST
5. Select LGNPST_LS970.dll for the DLL file and then for the .bin file, use the bin file that you renamed from tot to bin.
If LGNPST errors out at 85%, after a few minutes turn your phone off and hold the power button until the phone powers on, then release.
Helpful Button Presses
From Powered Down Device
Volume Up + Power = Boot into Fastboot Mode
Volume Down + Volume Up + Power (While Plugged into Computer) = Download Mode
Volume Down + Volume Up (While PLUGGING into Computer) = Download Mode
Bootloop
Volume Down + Power = Power Down
On launcher screen
Volume Down + Power = Power Down
Fastboot Screen
Volume Down twice, then press Power = Enter Recovery
Additional information
There is now a v9 root method.
Utilize the v9 .tot avaible in XDA or IRC. v9 tot
Many people are experiencing issues when LGNPST times out at 85%, which then leads to a phone that never roots and unlocks properly. If you're still soft-bricking, follow these steps.
Shut the phone off by placing your phone in download mode
When in download mode, hold down volume down and power for 30+ seconds
When the phone is shut off, and isn't turning itself back on when no buttons are pressed, plug into a wall cahrger
If you don't immediately see a charging battery, leave the charger for a considerable amount of time.

So my computer doesn't seem to recognize my device. I wiped out too much info with TWRP and now have no ROM or any OS on the device, but can get into fastboot and TWRP, but when I enter "adb devices" the list is empty. How can I get my Win 7 computer to recognize my device?

So I'm using LGNPST to get my friends phone back to stock using all files provided via IRC.
Just as indicated, LGNPST errors out at 85%, I unplug and hold power button as instructed but nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?
*EDIT* got it figured out, thanks to everyone that helped.
Disaster (I hope not)
Hi ... please help my phone is drowning and needs some CPR badly.
I tried to install lifeless on Sprint LS 970 using TWRP ... all went well,or so TWRP reported, until I tried to reboot and got the dread gray screen that won't ever turn completely off ...
I've repeatedly (like over and over) tried everything in this post to try and get into recovery or fast boot but nothing worked ... it will go into download mode and it will turn off and not immediately turn back on if I hold the power and vol down button for a minute or so, but when I try the next step and plug in the ac charger I get an immediate single flash of the LG loader and the gray screen.
So what should I do now or next or whatever to try and salvage the thing. Computer wise I am running Win 7 64, is there anything I can do from there via download mode?
Also, there's a pinhole on the top (G side of the LG logo) of the phone which looks suspiciously like like it should be a reset button, but pusing it with a dental pick has gotten me nowhere ... but maybe I'm missing something there as well.
Or would it help to remove the two torx screws, open the case, and pull the battery for a minute or two. (Must remind myself to never ever buy another phone with a locked down battery ... talk about the ultimate in dumb design ... especially when the thing starts refusing to accept a charge long before the user is due for a two-year upgrade.) The problem is it's wonderful phone except for that bit of idiocy.
Anyway, I would appreciate it more than I can say, and even donate something to the development kitty, if someone could help me reanimate this phone.
Thanks

I am having trouble too. When I click install.bat it doesn't install anything. It says file path could not be found. I have done it twice
to no avail. I am already logged in as admin. Home computer running 64bit win 7. Also in lgnpst I can select a dll file but it is a

We will see how the rest goes now. Well it didnt help, it errors out in like 2 seconds. Looks like i will have to wait for a rom.

[Q] How to use Flashtool-0.9.12.0 with Z1c

Hi guys, I'm trying to install RomAur onto my device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2641067.
1st step is to root the device ON LOCKED BOOTLOADER which leads me to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2634196.
And from that thread I've followed the instructions, placed my 2 .ftf files in the firmwares folder within Flashtool.
At which point I've run into 2 problems. 1st, the Z1c isn't recognised by the tool. So I tried to tell the program that it's just a Z1.
Next problem occurs when I try to flash the device, my specific firmware doesn't show up in the Firmware Selector. The only thing showing is X10 V1 BLRelock, which was already there by default.
Could someone give more detailed instructions as to how to flash using Flashtool please.
If you want to unlock the bootloader make sure to back up TA partition!
Check out my guide, it's more detailed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50176658 (rooting is the same process as Darkimmortal's guide)
See step 8, you probably didn't put the ftf file in the correct folder.

Thanks for replying.
I can't seem to manually update the z1c drivers, device manager keeps telling me i have the latest driver. So I skip that step and carry on.
Stuck at 8. I've tried putting the ftf in /firmware as well as other locations and changing the directory that flashtool will search.
Something else is wrong, any other suggestions?

You can see the source folder in the top of the Firmware Selector. Default is "C:\Flashtool\firmwares". Make sure your file is inside there and ends with ftf.
Also check if the file has the correct hash:

Make sure your phone is off (hold volume up and power button 5seconds, if the phone was on it will vibrate 3times and shut down).
Then power on your phone normally (hold power button until there is a slight vibrate). The screen will stay black, this is normal.
Plug in the USB cable to your pc and continue with step 13.
If it still says 'Waiting for device' you either:
a) don't have the drivers installed (check in device manager if something shows up when the phone is connected)
b) didn't correctly execute step 10
c) selected some wrong options in step 11
If it's b) or c), best solution is to start from scratch.

Ok so I managed to sort it out by starting from scratch.
I think it would be helpful to mention in your guide that the phone is blank from steps 13 through to 15. Thanks for the help, appreciate it.

Very very hard brick

Hello ..
I have a big problem !! I try to flash the Smartzen rom for try and after when my phone reboot..I have a bootloop
But the problem it's -> I don't acces to the bootloader and the recovery
I make power and volume + and i have vibration and just that
When i put the phone with the usb cable the phone doesn't charge.. and sometimes yes
And sometimes the phone reboot with a bootloop
I can't flash a new rom because my pc don't recognize the phone( just the sound when a device is connected) (it's normal i don't have access to bootloader)
And on the tutorial for the unbrick it's say " Ash back to the Zenfone 2, shutdown, press simultaneously the key "source" + "volume +", of course you will see a screen hanging cables. " but i don't have that...i have NOTHING
What is the solution please ?? Because i don't see any solution..

If you cant access bootloader i would suggest to use xfstk to reflash the bootloader. follow this guide. I had same problem and successfully recovered from a hard brick.

Basically as long as you followed the drivers install process correctly under device manager for a quick seccond you will see under IntelSOC you will see moorefield appear then disconnect. If that is good then your on your way.
Simply open xfstk follow the steps link to the proper files for your device, then hit begin download. While the counting is going down, turn on your phone as described in the steps and it should begin flashing.
here is a good video tutorial that helps - credit to timbernot

Usually when this happens xfstk lost communication with the device. Typically I encountered this when xfstk continued to flash the OS file.
In this case the fix is
To Go to Options to change the value in the Value section Override Flag GP 0x80000807. (Note the guide calls for 5 0's but only 4 0's will work)

I've done this already before flashing, as told in guide. any other trick to make fone stay connected for little longer? may be some change in xxx807 value?

This happened to me too - I solved it the dumbest way possible. The first time I set it up and ran it and it got through the first part and then failed to do the second. I just happened to have to go pick up a pizza at the time, so I went and got the pizza, came back, touched nothing, ran xFSTK again, and it worked! After that, I always ran it once, let it fail, then waited 10 minutes touching nothing, and ran it again. That always works for me (don't know why, and I know it doesn't make sense, but hey it works for me all the time)
