[q] unroot moto defy - Defy General

hey guys,
i rooted my moto defy (using SuperOneClick)
but now i decided to unroot my device and put it on its DEFAULT setting...
can somebody show me how or teach me how to unroot my device (step by step)?
and one more question... do Unrooting may bring the warranty back?
thanks guys...
sorry for my bad english

superoneclick itself has an option to unroot did you try? if you didn't got success i read somewhere that some previously version like 1.9xx or earlier was able to unroot. anyway there is a sure way to unroot: reflash your .sbf version of android with RSD lite but you'll lose your data and apps.
Yes you got back warranty.

you can just remove /system/app/Superuser.apk and /system/bin/su
if you installed busybox remove it first, if you installed anything as root remove it first, because after removing both files above you can't get root anymore so you're stuck with whatever is installed.

undo using superoneclick

using the unroot option in superone click is a method
but I always unroot my defy via flashing the full sbf
It's more completely.

in the course of installing cm7, at some stage it says busybox not installed and asked if i wanted to install it. i said yes and the process continued.
i've now gone back to the stock froyo via the nandroid restore, and done a factory reset as the camera app was playing up. the factory reset had taken out the 2nd init but would what i've done so far had uninstalled busybox as well? if not how do i uninstall it now before i unroot it using superoneclick?
what else, if any, that you think could have survived the nandroid restore and factory reset? i could only remember installing barnacle wifi app after as cm7 does not come with 3g hotspot or tethering app

If the superuser app is installed and you can use superuser apps, then you are rooted, in which case flash this, which will break root, making it look as if you were a regular user, never rooted, etc.
Yeah I just checked and I do not have root access anymore, but I still have the SuperUser program installed. I tried mutli file remover but nothing will remove it.
That's because (most likely) it was installed to system/app. In order to delete anything from that area you'll need to re-root. Then find the stock nandroid backup listed somewhere in the dev section for our phone (using search would be handy for this one). Flash that nandroid just like any other and BAM, back to a stock, unrooted, no su, 1st time booted phone.
Okay great I figure that I might have to root it to get rid of it.
Thanks for the help.
I having issue trying to find the newest stock rom, can anybody point me in the right direction.

[Q] Superuser allways forcecloses and rom manager doesn't work

Hi!
I've seen some treads on this topic but couldn't find an answer (a big newbie here )
.
The problem is: I flashed a rom twice (HD revolution) and everything is fine. But now I wanted to flash to 3.0 but the rom manager doesn't work as when I try to flash clockworkmod recovery, the superuser always force closes and that's it
Can anyone help?
I am sotry but I do need more or less a step by step description (as I said a newbie )
J
Any more information to give as im just trying to figure out your next steps.....if you can flash roms you should be good to go.....try using clockword mod to fix permissions and download titanium and install busybox through the problems tab in the app.....
Of course
So, I did a root in January, then put on the Adroid Revolutions2.0.8
after a while I upgraded the 2.0.8 with 2.0.11
+ I changed the radio (again using the step by step receipe on this site) toRadio_12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2.
The first time flashing the rom and the second time I hade no problems.
The thing is also that I downloaded a program to tell me what my root status is and it says The phone is not rooted?! Is that possible?
I thopught once you root it's rooted for always?
Should I root again?

If your using a custom rom, you already have a custom recovery, just take your battery out, when you put it bk in hold the volume down and power key, at the bootloader menu, choose recovery.

Thanks a bunch
Problem solved.
Can you just tell me the thing about rooting?
Do you have a rooted telephone once you rooted it, forever?

No, once rooted, you will loose root if you flash an unrooted rom, 99.9% of custom roms are rooted though, as long as you have a custom recovery you can always flash another rom.

[Q] Unrooting DEFY

Is it possible to unroot the Motorola DEFY using z4root or by any other method?
I have an unrooted Moto_version.2.51.0.MB525.Retail.en.SEA15 at the moment. Want to make sure I can unroot (to get warranty, if needed) before I root it.
Yes you can use z4 or a newer version of superoneclick to unroot.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
You have to use superoneclick for 2.51, z4root doesn't work.
There isn't any unroot option in that. But you can flash the original sbf with RSDlite, it will clear the rooting (and everything else).
you can also just delete the superuser.apk and the su binary... probably also the busybox. just look what files get copyed to file system. no biggie
oh and btw: su binary should be the last thing on system platform you delete - otherwise you can't delete anything on system platform. You'd have to root for that xD
sounds logical, doesn't it? ^^
Thanks guys!

[Q] about CF-Auto-Root v1.0 and Unroot

Hello , this is my first post, i 've read a lot for my 2 precedents phones, galaxy S and ACE.
I just bought the Note 2 that i just want to root.
I saw different methods , i really appreciate the Chainfire CF-Auto-Root v1.0 because it stays with stock recovery.
My problem is warranty. I understand that i can reset my counter to 0 with Triangle away . But after i have to unroot to get back warranty.
The only method i saw, is to flash ROM with Mobile odin
But my note 2 doesn't come with stock ROM but with my operator ROM which is ORANGE.
I searched on samfirmware, there is no such French Orange ROM for Note 2.
So I wonder if There is (or will be) a method to Unroot without flashing new ROM
or a method to create a flashable ROM from my untouched Note2 (which i think is just a dream )
or do i have to wait Orange post a new rom for the Note2
Thank you for reading

Better wait for a Orange rom you can flash with Odin after you choose to unroot. After flash perform a full wipe in settings, backup and restore, restore to standard or something like that. After the flash and restore you`re in stock condition
Thanks.
So it means that if i want to root now , i loose my warranty till orange would like to post a new ROM.
No other way

If you root now and there is a problem with the device and you turn it in rooted an with no original firmware, it may lead to the loss of warranty. You may have to pay for repairs out of your own pocket then
Than you so i will wait.
and pray chainfire or someone esle post something to unroot without flashing,
because if not i will certainly wait very long after Orange
If you root with Chainfire's auto root, you can unroot from super su setting, there is option to unroot completely. May be it leaves some footprint but I don't thing it is visible normally.
But don't forget to remove everything if you have pushed manually in system rom(like some mode or application you have copied) after unrooting you can't remove.

I thought unroot in super SU was only temporary for developpers or to use applications that won't start if phone is rooted.
I will try it on my galaxy ACE. And hope it will work in the same manner on the note2.
thank you.:good:
OK. Thank you dr.ketan.
i found the option in Super SU
But i wonder if,as The note 2 is new , unrooting could be also different as other phones. And perhaps unrooting method of Super SU won't work on Note2. Or unrooting is universal for all android phones.
Any way to know in an other way than trying myself ? .
Off topic: I know i'm new user but could someone tell me how long do i have to wait before i do not need to write CAPTCHA each time i want to post, or is this last forever for everyone?
Supersu works where it is available, but if you have rooted device with kernel integrate with Supersu, it will remain root device on next boot..

Hey dr.ketan!
I've been looking for an answer to my issue but could not find it so may I ask you for help, please?
I have rooted my SGSIII (the process added CWM and superSU).
After a month I recieved the update to JB4.1.1; I installed it and the root acces was disapear but SuperSU app stills there!!
I want to root my phone again, Do I have to uninstall SuperSU before I manage to root with any method for JB 4.1.1?
Thank you very much!!!:good:
SU Not working
I attempted rooting my AT&T SGH-I747 Galaxy S3 (Android 4.3) using CF's Auto Root. Installation went fine, rebooted through recovery. That's when things went south. I keep getting Android security warnings, and SuperSU continuously FC's. Root checking apps are unable to get root access. Any ideas to get it working?

[Q] Titanium Backup works but SU cant get root access?

So i am a little confused.
Back on Gingerbread i had my phone rooted and was just using adblock and Titanium backup on the stock rom. SU worked fine and everytime i booted up TB or Adblock it always showed up with the "application has been granted SU access" or whatever.
When i updated my phone to stock ICS through Kies, i couldnt use TiTbackup anymore so i re-rooted my phone using some program i saw on here (it was not ODIN).
After that my Titanium Backup worked fine again as well as Adblock.
Now i am trying to jump into CM10/AOKP but i cannot seem to flash TWRP and superuser wont update (its telling me i dont have root access).
What should i do? Just try to re-root via Odin and flash the newest version of Superuser? Or will that screw things up considering i have SU already installed.
Thanks for any help.

Why? Its the factory Rom on right now, i havent changed anything on it.
Just got Root Checker and now its saying i dont have root access.... le sigh.
I can still get into CWM, is there a way to flash something to give me root access?

The reason I asked, was because CWM has issues with setting the correct access, and if you restore, you lose root.

Should i just try reflashing SU? Or would that brick or ruin my phone?
I think the reason Titanium backup and Adblock are still working are because that is what i was using before i went to ICS and it maintained SU permissions.
Think SU might have just gotten corrupted?
