Bada 2.0 Brick

Sadly, 4 of my friend birck their phone when they are flashing the new Bada 2.0. Do you have any solution to bring their phone back

WTH !!!!!
How did they brick them???
Is the flashing was killed in the bootloader step or any other step
if in the bootloader then it is full brick and the will need a fix with JTAG
If in any other step just reflash the files again

One of them forgot to check Full download, other didn't load the usb driver. Others can't understand what they did wrong. But they cant switch to Download mode now.

same one can help you maybe need JTAG

Sometimes, pulling the battery out for a few minutes, works. Otherwise, service is needed.

Thank you for your suggestions, I will tell your ideas to my friends. Hope one of them works.

its working great here, except for video recording xD..
and i cant connect to kies, so my contacts are not usable

Nobody cant brick wave, just litlle difficult to reflash. But dont worry you can reflash it !!!

The obvious 1st question to ask is to what did they try and flash it to?
The current Bada 2.0 is ONLY for the S8530 Wave II and NOT the S8500 Wave I
If they tried to flash it on the Wave I then "Theres your problem!!" Like Jamie Hinaman from Mythbusters would say

Like I said in my second post, one of them dorgot to check Full download, other forgot to load new usb driver. And they all have Wave II

Than I retract my statement
Usually once the bootloader has been loaded you can just reload it without doing to bootfiles again and it should work. But if their bootloader is screwed they will have to take it in to my knowledge.
Just a thought though... Were some of theirs branded? Because i know the bootloaders for branded phones are a bit different?

I'll google some for you as well but seeing as we dont know much from the new bootfiles i doubt there will be anything.
As a suggestion to them let them open up Kies and then plug in the phone in whatever state it may be.
There is a emergency recover mode that it should enter if it cant boot and Kies will then just revert to the latest "available" firmware.
Hope this helps but I will see if i can find something else that might help as well

They have one problem with Kies. It asks some kind of password but they cant find that password. This is their last solution unless someone tell different solution.

Ye i dont know the password either. It should provide it on the phone itself from what i could understand when it goes into recovery mode.
If its not displayed on the phone you wont have a code to put in there

I have no idea for S8530... but for chinese S8500 few Bootloader combinations were different. Some structure differences.
If you or your friends all from China... maybe chinese Firmware not allow this bada 2.0 Firmware...

@kadavil i have yesterday synced my contacts, kies is no showing firmware version but it worked for me on 2.0. It is like hidden, the version dont shows up, have you installed the new drivers in the folder before?

I2m from Turkey so my friends. We couldn't repair their phone and they will send their phone to service tomorrow. Thanks for your solution but complete kernel change ruin our repaie attempt.

Anyway. Their are some Operator/Branding related differences ... example chinese FW from S8500:
ZN...
ZC...
Or for instance adress changes S8500/S8530...
From S8530 seems more Bootloader Versions...
Maybe you should post your prior FW Version, before dead.
So maybe other users from turkey prevent "damage" their Wave II...

I also got same problem, my SW ver. is middle east but i tried to flash an Europe vers. of bada 2.0. it was stacked at flash starting point and i can still able to put to download mode, can i re flash it back to bada 1.2 or should try again 2.0 or any other method pls, help.

[Q] JB back to GB problems

Hey and hello here!
I'm rather new to flashing, etc. and have tried the JB leak. Great job on you guys there!!
Now I want to return to GB, also found a quite easy work thru by michal_ag, and flashing back to his Russian stock worked like a charm. Unfortunately I cannot install any GB version after that. Odin tells me, that I'm trying to flash a modded modem version and aborts (tried various stock roms from sammobile).
Soooo I'm back to JB, but I miss using bluetooth in a convenient way, not having to restart my phone each time to enable it for deep sleep, and the lack of NFC is a bit of a bugger, too.
Any suggestions for getting back to I8160PXX/DBT/LK2? Sorry I'm new and not yet allowed to post in the dev section cos of that.

I took the chance, since I know some ppl flashing a 8160P to JB, and it worked fine. So I figured I might try the same non-P way to revert, since there is IMHO nothing at all to be found specificly for the 8160P.

Nope. I didn't mean it that way.
As for the revert, you can try to find a full firmware for I8160P. the one that has CODE_REV...blahblahblah & CSC_REV...blahblablah. That's the only thing I can think of.
Oh wait, can you post what Odin shows?

I've been looking last night for a P firmware that consists out of two parts. I concluded that from michal's thread, too (that's why he took the Russian version, cos only fw that has more than one package, blablalba).
In Odin it goes through all the operations as it should (flashing cache.img, etc) but when it gets to modem.img it gives:

And on the hand held screen it says in red "modem custom", the mobile freezes, and revival increases the flashcounter by one. I'm back to JB for the day and am downloading various fw in hope of getting one with multiple files...

UPDATE: Have been looking around, and so far the fw for 8160P is always a single data file. Szaby59 posted a pre-rooted fw for 8160P, as far as I can tell it includes the PDA and CSC file by soraxx.
I'll try and get hold of a file package and try to flash back to GB. Maybe it'll work. Up to now my Ace 2 NFC seems pretty brick-safe. At least I wasn't able to brick it, and I've played about with it more than one should. But it's really sad, that the 8160P is a low "really low" activity device - it bears such goodness in its tech

Hey. This could be a stupid suggestion but why dont you try and take modem from 8160P gw and replace XXLK6 modem.. Just curious

I thought about that myself, but I'm axious that that could actually brick my phone in the sense of being basically unflashable. And I do not now how to create/compile a new md5-file. With what application should I do this? Winrar and 7zip only allow viewing and extraction.

JFI, I have an i8160P like you an had flashed it to JB. Tried to downgrade with the russian firmware and the same faults. Can't flash any other firmware afterwards. With Odin 3.07 I was able to flash an i8160 Firmware but now I've no baseband (Phone: unknown) and no IMEI. Unfortunately i haven't saved the /efs.
Now I'm looking around for a way to get baseband back.
Sorry for my english. It's 30 years ago i had it at school.

hello today i tested some roms to find the best for me...and now i did a clean official flash via odin and after flash and in the first start its instaling some german apps and its in german language and says no registered network and i cheked and the fireware was for my country and i had use this file a lot of times to flash...now i dont know what hapend..(i had installed a bootloader from a rom and i dont know if thats the problem) please help:crying:

Apparently once Knox is on your device you can't downgrade at the moment.. I don't know a fix but I'd imagine if you gave a few more details ie your device number and what ROMs you tried someone will be able to help you..
GT N7105 with XDA Premium......that is all......

also some details before understand my problem
all was working fine with venom rom 2.5 then i thaught lets update it to 3.2 .i just updated it but as written wifi will not work if i dont update my firmwere ..i didnt so wifi didnt work then i just have no time to update it i put old 2.5 Venom rom inside my sd card and installed it with backups .....
now the problem starts everytime when i restart my phone the screen goes stuk on htc strat scrren with some red lines i treid to do everything install many times venom rom but still same happend now i cant just let my phone go off i have to wake it up all the time i mean i cant shut it down otherwise roms gone or currupted
now the question is what i have to do can someone explain please do i root it again or what i have to do i have no idea now
i just want my m8 on coustom rom back i like to sale it and buy someother .
so can someone tellme how to install costom rom with no problems and restart problems or this htc scrren with red lines how to remove it

With all the time and worries you have had you could update your Firmware and flash Viper 3.2 from scratch, and that's what i would do.

Not the best link when he is just asking about firmware.
Are you S-Off or S-On?
If S-On, go to this thread to find firmware for your MID and CID. They MUST match, or the firmware won't flash properly.
If you are S-Off, the method in this thread is the absolute easiest way to update your firmware. This is the method I use.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (AT&T) : SGH-I317 Stock Rom needed

Hello,
I'm trying to look for the fresh stock rom of SGH-I317 rom so I can flash my phone back to normal. I owned this phone since 2012, I had it rooted and everything else. Last night, it decided to do something funny and now it gets stuck on samsung logo/battery and I can only access download mode for the time being.
So I assume I have to factory set everything and lose data--which i don't care about anymore.
Can anyone please help? Thank you. Stock rom is what I need and Odin as well. Thanks again =)

As far as I know there are at least 4 different STOCK versions of SGH-I317 firmware namely 4.1.1 4.1.2 4.3 and 4.4.2. 4.1.2 is the same as 4.1.1 but it has SIM unlock backdoor closed. 4.1.1 is interchangeable up to 4.3 with certain limitations, as soon as you get 4.4.2 you are stock to it.
4.3 is my personal favorite but I can't seem to find clean AT&T ROM for some time now (everything else is available).
If I were you I'd start powering up the phone while holding home and arrow up buttons, do "wipe data/factory reset" follow with "wipe cache partitions" and you should be golden

Thanks replying. Unfortunately.. I tried getting into recovery mode but it just won't let me. when I do that.. it only takes me back to the samsung logo. I really really don't know why...
Right now I only have access to the Odin Mode and it comes up as

did you try flashing recovery again through odin...u can also try this...not sure if it works 100% in ur case...but doesn't hurt to try.

See that's the thing. I need the stock rom so i can flash it lol. I asked it a few times before too ^__^;; . The good thing is, the battery still works fine .
Now on Odin.. I get many failed attempts..so I'm not sure I have the right stock rom.
edit : I tried that method..didn't work ....

Remember u can downgrade from 4.4.x...there's a thread in forum that explains what tz files r needed and which bootloader 2...I've done it couple of times myself from Dn4 rom and Eclipse V9 from 7100 thread. Just gotta read and be patient. Hope u get all straightened out. Keep us informed on progress.

With the phone in download mode, is there anything on the phone about knox or warranty bit? If there is, the phone can't be flashed with any stock ROM from sammobile.com.

REALLY??? Please show us the link for upgrade! As I said there is no OEM 4.3 ROM at sammobile
I was told many many times that AT&T (and this is the one we are talking about) 4.4.2 ROM can not be downgraded!
I tired the downgrade and yes the system will go down to 4.1.1 but it would keep the 4.4.2 bootloader so the phone won't charge while being off (making it pretty useless).

@audit13 : I've the phone since 2012. I think Im getting a new as is but I know this phone can't be done just yet. if I'm able to access download mode that should warrant itself the possibility of it being fixed. Just need that thread to follow those directions =)

OMG, my bad.
Does the phone say anything about warranty bit or knox in download? If it does, the phone can't be flashed with any ROMs from sammobile.com.

my phone is SGH-I317 NOTE 2 .....

Did you have a chance to look at the download screen on the phone? Model is sgh-i317 in download screen too?

Well the model number SGH-I317 . I'm sure I mentioned it before. And yes. .I find that to be weird too >__<.. What am I missing?

In this case, I would try and flash the stock ROM from sammobile.com in Odin: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-I317/
