Pants or jacket with pockets big enough to fit xoom in? - Xoom Accessories

I always refrain from taking my xoom with me because I don't want to carry it. Any suggestions/tips on how to carry it without using a bag/backpack?

the clown at my son's birthday party had pants with pockets big enough!
Seriously, though, you could easily carry it in the inside pocket of a barbour jacket... just not sure that would be good summer wear.

For late fall through winter the scottevest line is not a bad choice. The outback and the revolution would be the ones I recommend out of the current line. The one I use currently (the tactical 4.0 system) is like the revolution plus but with a removable fleece liner. I am thinking about buying a outback ( http://www.scottevest.com/v3_store/Outback-Jacket.shtml ) for this fall.
As far as bags go the chrome bags minimalist ( http://www.chromebagsstore.com/bags/utility-bags/minimalist.html ) does the job well. It is big enough to carry the xoom (and not much else) but not so large as to be bulky.
Note that these suggestions are not the cheapest options out there. The chrome bags will last a long time though. (I have a mini-metro that I used as my daily laptop bag for 6 years and still use occasionally after 9 years) The evest line is nothing to write home about on durability though, just a normal jacket.

i have the scottevest travel vest that i use on my overseas trips to carry everything. it has an inside pocket designed to fit tablets. its lightweight and has tons of pockets.

Good bag solution at Target!

I was bouncing around stores looking for a decent sling bag, and I found this swiss gear one for 28 dollars after tax. It has a main pouch for the xoom, a secondary pouch for the charger and hdmi cables, and a back pouch that may be able to fit the motorola bluetooth keyboard, I'm not sure. It feels very sturdy, is a tight comfortable fit (wont bounce around while on the run), and I think is totally worth the price.
This is what I use.
The keyboard fits perfectly in the back pocket and it's cheap!!
Is this sold online at Target? Cannot seem to find it.
EDIT: Is this it?

Does the zipper close completely without trouble? Hard to tell from the photo.
I just picked one of these up. Nice inexpensive bag and Xoom fits great inside. Thanks!
See the man bag thread, this bag was mentioned along with others

Will look for one tomorrow thanks!

yeah that's it. No zipper trouble at all. The bag has a warranty too.
I picked one of these up a couple weeks ago, just haven't had time to move in yet. Question I have after trying to move over to this bag is this. How is everyone putting their XOOM, charger and other misc. items in the bag without the worry that these other items will crack the screen on the XOOM? There's just doesn't seem to be a lot of padding for the XOOM and if say the power supply is in another pocket it could still be directly against the screen and one mishap and crack goes the screen. If you turn the XOOM around where it's facing the back, that leaves the screen open as well.
Granted I may be a bit paranoid, but there just doesn't seem like a lot of room for much else unless you want the XOOM at somewhat of a risk.
Let me know how you put your XOOM and other items into the bag, feedback appreciated.
I put my xoom, the charger, a 10 foot hdmi cable, a wii remote, and a classic controller pro in the bag. I probably wouldnt do this if I didnt have the official motorola folio case for the xoom on though.
My peeps have commented on how much they love my new purse! lol

Travel vest ...

Ok this is a little nuts, but it sort of makes sence ?!
I am sure it will do for the Xoom as well ...

I have the Scott eVest Tactical 4.0 (no longer available) and it works pretty well for storing the miscellaneous gadgets, including the xoom. The xoom is on the heavy side to put in the front pocket but it does fit and is more convenient than carrying a bag, The one problem I have is that xoom is heavy enough to tear at the pocket. My jacket is a number of years old though and was not designed with something like a tablet in mind. Presumably the "iPad pocket" has been reinforced.
Personally I like the vest but the trench coat looks pretty naff to me.
Scottevest is very essential to any person who wants to carry gadgets without looking too still with their "man purse"

Pretty cool - and cheap - car dock

I wasn't happy with the crap-tastic Verizion car dock, so I decided to steal an idea from another forum her and try a GPS mount. I found a really nice series at Best Buy from Bracketron - their Grip-iT Mobile Device Holders come is a variety of mounting configurations, including the vent mount I got. It's a pretty common design, but seems pretty well-built for $19.99.
The arms don't spread wide enough for the phone to fit in a landscape orientation, but you put it in portrait and then rotate the whole dock. There is enough pressure for it to stay securely on its side (my kid loves to watch Netflix on the way to school).
Anyhoo, I don't have enough posts to share a link from Best Buy, but it's easy to find on their site. Staples carries it as well.
Wow... now that's ugly.
To be honest, I think much of that is due to trying to take a flash photo in a dimly lit car inside a dark garage. It's certainly not a work of art, but it's not as bad as the photo would indicate. It's actually very black - even the pads. You might want to google it for a better view, unless you were just hatin' for no apparent reason. In which case, I'd say, well played, sir.
Better view.
Dammmn i realy like it, does it rotate?
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using XDA App
As the OP said, it does rotate. I've had one in my car for years. Though I ditched its mount and affixed it to a ProClip (didn't like it hanging on my vent, the Volkswagen louvres are individual and can easily break). I've been pretty happy with it as it holds most anything i can throw at it as long as its not something small like an iPod nano.
I have pretty much that same dock, though probably a Chinese knock off (paid around $4 for it). Been using it for the last year and it works great. I like just being able to slide my phone in and out of it rather than clip it into a dock. I also eventually upgraded it to attach to my dash with one of these.
Also using this same car dock. Had it for about a year or so.
Mine is made by "Scosche" and I picked it up at the local Walmart.
wow, talk about old school looking!
It's junk, I had two of them.
Bought them from Best Buy.
1st one lasted 3 weeks before it would no longer open.
2nd one lasted 2 month before it would no long stay closed

Tablet bag purchase recommendations?

Hey Guys
I'm going away to Malta soon (lucky me) :highfive: and I wanted to invest in a tablet bag to carry my stuff onto the plane with me and when I go walking around Valletta sight seeing.
Looking on Amazon I haven't found a decent case that claims to fit up to more than 10.1" tablets, I also have the Samsung Book Cover on my tablet which would add a bit extra bulk. I also want it to carry my phone Nexus 6, 1 Charger for the Tab S, A quite hefty battery pack, Six Axis Controller (for my gaming on the go ), Very small bluetooth keyboard and mouse and lastly some extra cables like USB OTG etc...
The best one I have found so far is this one
http://www.amazon.co.uk/messenger-t...TF8&qid=1437638802&sr=8-5&keywords=tablet+bag
I also found a review that said it fitted someone else's Tab S. Though I'm worried as mine has the Book cover on it. I don't want it to be a big bag like a laptop one as I'll be walking around with it a lot.
Could you give me recommendations on tablets bags and which one's you guys use? Or if you have the bag in question could you tell me if it'd fit with the Book cover on it?
Any help would be most appreciated
Thanks
abillybob
I've always been fond of The North Face and currently use a Surge II backpack. It has way too many pockets for storage, and it has a protective tablet pocket that perfectly fits the 10.5s with Samsung book cover. It also has this as a separate compartment that you can add a small lock if you wish...... These bags are pricey but should last you the rest of your life.

Cheers mate. Do you have a link for the bags?
Well you can go to the Northface website to see the various styles then find a place to purchase. I bought mine from a online vendor here in the US. You can save some money by getting a previous version (they release new colors and patterns every year and the old bags get discounted) but i couldn't recommend the brand enough.

Question JerryRigEverything durability test epic fail

Guys, what you think?
Link below:
As for the scratching and burning everything's ok, my concern is bending test of course.
Nobody put on fire or scratch the screen with knife on purpose but bending is another kind of stuff. Just normal regular usage seems to make using the phone extremely carefully.
What's your thoughts and input?
What are your user experience (for the model owner - not only 6 Pro, every rog phone 6 models}?
Yeah, oops. Might want a good stiff case for that phone. Cool phone... nonetheless.
I have a Note 10+ and even though it's structurally very solid I try to never torque the phone like that. If you keep it in your bdu pants cargo pocket, which is a good place for a phone, it won't be an issue.
Lol, obviously that reviewer needs to learn some respect for glass's razor like cutting ability... not to worry he will, sooner or latter

some bend test was failed, some passed with another phones. My worries is the bend test wasn't demanding, he didn't put high pressing force to break it like matchstick

Should've put on blocks and measured the actual force needed to bend it. Who holds a lighter to their display? Guy just wants to break phones for views I guess

This is not on purpose but by accident, just from pants pocket. Disturbing and warning.
How to make this phone last like at least 2ys of regular usage?
Put in hard case - got overheated
Use naked to good cooling - got it broken in half.
no good solution Considering the same case occured to series 5 - why Asus didn't fix this bend test durability problem?
Apart from that phone seems to be unique and brillant.

Well after the time I saw a fat girl sit down in her car with a Note 4 in her back jean pocket, I decided never to keep a phone there.
Switch to cargo pants, keep in thigh pocket and call it good. Alternatively a belt mounted pouch.

What happened to this Note 4 fat abused phone? Was destroyed?
As far as I'm 5'4/99 consider myself as a well grown chicken so my weight is not an issue.
cargo or bdu pants seem a good idea, also large jacket pocket or belt mounted pouch.
For everyday use without gaming (just during day time job etc) worth to consider buying devilcase i guess.
Hope my device survives living with me

It didn't break that time. It was a new device at then and I really wanted one. Curious why she treated it so recklessly (much like the food she consumed) she told me it was given to her. That still didn't mean it was free... dumb bunnies.
Vest pockets work most times but can occasionally fall out. Jacket pockets can have the same issues. Cargo pockets work well but once or twice I miss the pocket being too casual and it dropped to the floor. Without a good case this 3 yo phone would have been destroyed long ago. It's always cased.
