Why is the kingston like half the price of the sandisk aren't they both top brands? Also will class 4 be able to function properly?
Guess i'll remove the links caues of the rules but at amazon the sandisk 32gb class 4 is List Price CDN$ 131.76 and at other various sites the kingston 32gb class 4 is around $55-70.
I am currently using verified-genuine 32gb Kingston class 4. No problem so far. Transfer rate about 5.6 to 6.1 mb/s. Taken Full Hd video. No jerk or whatsoever.
But be careful of fake Kingston. Best thing to do is before you buy, verify the card serial no at Kingston website in front of the vendor.
Just my 2 cents

Hmmm I doub`t I can do that considering i am ordering online but i ordered all my computer parts from ncix and had no issues I highly doubt they sell fake cards they are like newegg.com but for canada. Still not sure if I should go for the sandisk over the kingston
If they are that reliable, then u should go ahead and order. A class 4 will always be a class 4, no more or less in performance, if it's genuine.
If u want to get a sandisk class 4, u can actually top up a little bit and go for a class 10

Thanks for the reply what did you mean by I can top up a little bit?
Because that Sandisk Class 4 is overpriced.
For an equivalent of CDN$100, I can get a Lexar Class 10 32GB MicroSD. Great in sequential speeds but **** in random writes. Still, it is just to prove a point that the Sandisk that you are looking at is overpriced. Over here, the Sandisk Class 4 sells for 30-40% cheaper than the Lexar Class 10!

makes sense guess i'll go with the kingston then
If the Kingston Class 4 transfer speeds are what the user above was reporting then think about getting a Class 2 Sandisk one (if its cheaper). My Class 2 Sandisk reads/writes at 5.5mb/s.

Yeah this one, or a lexar class 10 if you want high transfer speeds with your pc.
Or a sandisk class 2 if you dont care about recording movies to your micro sd card.
the sandisk 32gb class 4 will work good with 1080p recording ?
and where i can buy it ?
because on amazon.com i can't find the class....
thanks
When I bought the Samsung WB2000 / TL350 compact camera which recorded 1080p @30fps it required a "Sandisk Extreme"... It apparently has a 20MB/s write speed. No class written on the card though...I think it's class 6 as class 10 is 30MB/s.
I would have thought you'd need a higher class to write HD video...
Note: "Sandisk Extreme" is a SD card not a Micro-sd

There is no class certified for 20MBps or 30MBps.
Class 10 = 10 MBps, thats why is 10.
So class 6 = 6MBps, class 4 = 4MBps, class 2 = 2MBps.
Class is equal to the minimum write speed in random spaces.

No, Class is the minimum write/read speed in sequential. The Lexar Class 10 32GB only does 0.018 MB/s in random write!
any more answer that might help me choose a good card ?
thanks
You need to figure out what you need in terms of speed and size, then how much money you want to spend. A 32GB class 10 card is extremely expensive, where a 16GB class 6 is around a third of that. I plan on using my Galaxy S II for holding all my music and some movies so I ordered this yesterday: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820208573. Not too expensive and fast enough for most things.

i want 16gb but don't know which class and brand to take...
my main concern is recording video in 1080p
I have a class 10 Lexar 32GB Card.
You should buy a brand name card (Sandisk, Lexar, Kingston). I say that because there are IN GENERAL more reliable. There will be cards that are made by lesser known brands like Patriot and A-Ram but that does not mean they are any less reliable but more faults are reported for them than with Sandisk, Kingston or Lexar.
Having said that, my previous card was a 16GB Class 6 Patriot card. Worked awesome for a whole year and is still working in my friend's Desire (gave it to him and got the Lexar card for more space). In conclusion, don't buy eBay cards is what I'm trying to say.
Class? That's been debated A LOT. I got a class 10 and I can clearly see the benefit. Media Scanning is less than 10 seconds (mind you, I've got close to 38gb full in both internal and external cards), file copying is very quick and gallery files show up quicker, when I seek in a video file, it moves instantly (even with a 1080p movie).
It just depends on what you require. If you're slightly more patient, you can save 30-40 bucks by getting a 32gb class 2 card instead of a 32gb class 10 card.
Hope that helps. I recommend both Lexar and Patriot. Go for class 6 at least if price is not an issue.

Thanks, I just ordered one. This is exactly what I've been waiting for!
Let me know how it works out when you get it. I still have my sandisk 32gb class 2 and always had issues with my recorded video skipping.
Swyped from my Supersonic
I was able to get in on this Patriot 32gb Class 4 deal from Frys (like with 30 mins until the deal expired). I've received it and it works great. I've been using Class 4 cards to record 720p video via my Pentax DSLR for years now with no issues at all, and using a 16gb Class 4 in my Evo without issues either. I'm sure Class 10 performs better, but Class 4 is definitely good enough, especially at $40 for 32gb.
I suspect that this is the beginning of the 32gb Class 4 cards getting down into a more reasonable price range, especially with all the Class 10 coming out.
My sd card is failing and I was looking for a replacement when I came across this one at Amazon. I wanted a 32GB, but the price on this thing was ridiculous.

A SanDisk class 4 is equivalent to most brands' class 6. They tend to underrate their cards when it comes to speed.

Exactly.
I have a class 10 Patriot and it kinda sucks!
SanDisk micro sd have good reliability but their cards are pretty slow. My 32GB and 8GB class 4 SanDisk both maxes out around 4.3 MBs. In comparison my
AData 8GB class 4 averages 8MBs.
AData 8GB class 6 averages 11MBs
Toshiba 8GB class 4 averages 7MBs
Toshiba 16GB class 4 averages 7MBs
Hi Guys can anybody suggest me ? Should I go for 16 gb class 6 samsung memory card or 32 gb class 4 sandisk ? will class 6 and 4 matter ? Because class 6 32 gb is very expensive
I use Sandisk class 4 32GB too.. no problem..
if you write frequently to the external card ...like say taking backups...or capturing photos/video... go for faster speed... class 6 or higher...if affordable...
but say you want to carry music..ebooks etc on the card... then class 4 with bigger memory should work well.. because the read speed on class 4 wont be too bad...
It really depends on your usage, if you think that 32GB will come in handy in the future then go for it. Personally, I bought a Transcend 16GB Class 6 off Amazon for $15, good price and performs very well.
Class 4 is already quite good but it is more to video or photo is best class 6 or higher.
There is not a visible diference. Go for the 32 one!

Buy whatever you can afford.
Obviously if you can afford it, get the 32GB card. The slightly slower write speeds will only come into play the first time you put a lot of data on the phone or if you regularly transfer large blocks of data to/from the phone.
But if you're like me and dumped a whole lot of music & other stuff onto the card when you first got it, and since have only dropped the occasional file onto it, the 32GB card is fine (I own a 32GB Class4 Sandisk).
Higher class only if you like recording video. It'll have lesser risk of shuttering. For now there is hardware limitations in reading higher speed but this is going to change real soon...
Get the 32gb one, my class 4 writes at 5.5mb so its good, just use the internal for fast write

Samsung 32GB Class 10 is on sale at Expansys at the moment and they ship to India http://www.expansys.in/expansys-32gb-micro-sdhc-class-10-no-adaptor-221949/
It's priced at $36 so I don't know what that means to you! But the UK price is quite cheap.
But given your choices it's down to how you will use your card I guess but I would go for the 32GB as I use lots of storage, hopefully the card works faster than its quoted speed.

It's supported the class 10 with the S2? or only works but at lower speeds?
The S2 will support a Class 10 card. I meant that you could get lucky and the Class 4 card may operate faster than its expected 4MB/s write speed.
My last Class 6 had write speeds close to that of my Class 10 at over 8MB/s

The Class system is completely flawed.
1. Sandisk usually underrates their card to avoid false advertisements. Many times have I seen them outperform Kingston cards in benchmarks that were rated at a "higher class."
2. Even if you had a class 12, it doesn't mean the components and hardware on your computer and specially the phone takes advantage of such high class speeds.
3. Other than that, this card us a "Ultra" class 6 putting it on a different rating system than the normal classes.
