Indeed. I too dislike humans.
There is no Root
There is no root out for 2.2 yet. A sticky are the posts that are always on top of the forum list you will see a pin icon right before the title. The XDA devs are working on finding an exploit for 2.2 but as of right now no one has made any or mentioned making any progress on rooting 2.2. I along with many other new EVO users bought it with the damn 2.2 already up an running. But worry not it may take a few months but no one has ever built a perfect un exploitable system. Some one some day will figure it out just give them some time until then cheers.
Sorry dude, there is no root method for Froyo yet. I'm sure its in the works. Not saying this to be mean or sarcastic, just a heads up, try to familiarize yourself with the search feature here and do alot of reading to make sure your question hasn't been answered yet. It will save you from getting flamed by other members for posting something that's been asked multiple times already. A sticky is basically a thread deemed important by the mods. It will always be at the top of the thread list. There's one that explains all the forum rules. Hope this helps and enjoy XDA.

totally owned him!!
I'm not trying to own anyone, the forum has rules we all agree to and in the time it's taken for him to complain he could've gone to ROM development and seen the 3 HD ROMs in there (which have the flip clock)

1. Root your device (i suggest u use unrevoked method)
2. Download a Desire HD Rom (DHD)
3. Flash it from recovery
You'll find detailed guides on how to do this in the Development section
Good luck

Easy man we are all here to help you but searching before asking helps all of us. The reason you should not just go follow 3 steps to root you phone is that when you don't understand what you are changing in the software, you can easily mess something up that we might not be able to help you recover from and we already have had too many cases like that.
Good luck on rooting your phone

Yeah pretty big hole.
Hey Terepin, what section should you have posted this question in?
This question isn't related to Desire.
Anyway, so basically 2.2.2 isn't more secure than 2.3.3, correct?

Ye it isn't. Also it would be kinda odd to introduce new security holes xD(kidding as there could be some by mistake of course).
I believe the reason 2.3 is usually mentioned regarding security issues is because it just proves that the hole is still present in the most recent software(as well as all older versions).

I dont know the specific of security holes. Generally each new version of any software fixes earlier issues but often as a result, newer issues ensue.
I would say 2.3.3 is more secure than 2.2 because more bugs and holes are fixed than introduced. If not they would roll back to the previous version.
I'd never go to anything below 2.3.4 though.

Why not post in Android q&a?
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
I was thinking about that, but it feels right to ask Desire community.
Still wrong section.. If this was someone else posting you would have flamed the hell out of them..
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
Did you saw me flaming out someone for posting question in General section? There are question which don't fit to Q&A section.
So when you don't post in the correct section its ok? But if someone else does it, its not ok? You said yourself its not desire related. In what sense does your question not fit Android q&a? Its probably the only section its relevant to. No?
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
What exactly is incorrect about asking Desire community?
By all means ask the desire community. It's a great community. But it's not related to the desire. My point is that I (and others) have seen you flame others for lesser trespasses. And did you search before asking? Surely the answer is out there somewhere. Your answer to many people's questions is to use search. Maybe you should take your own advice.
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
Which "lesser trespasses"?
Above comment edited
Swyped from my CM7.1 Desire using XDA Premium App
Lesser trespass: failing to find answer through search, so asking the community.

The HTC International Team don't allow any Off Topic threads and this one is no different.
If you want to be off topic and have a chat, go and check out the Off-Topic forum. I'm sure you'll find loads of threads over there which will cater to your needs.
