Hi guys
I run Cyanogenmod 7.1 RC0 at stock frequency (1ghz), but would like to go higher (~1.2 ghz). What are your settings, and do you have any recommendations to other settings than core frequency?
thansk in advance
Mine is 300 MHz at 20 Vsel, 600 MHz at 32 Vsel, 1200 MHz at 60 Vsel, but when I play games it seems to be unstable, so when I need more power productivity I put it to 80 Vsel.

1ghz is not stock . 800 is
Well.. 1 Ghz IS stock for cyanogen 7.1 rc0... Anyways, I cranked it up to 1.2 with vsel 62. does anyone have better settings?

I have just used z4 root + milestone overclock to tinker with battery etc,
and i forgot to ask
what are the default Clock/Vsel settings?!?!
(i have been searching around)
thanks

really? I even run 1.2Ghz @ 56 vsel, and it's stable.
the default cpu is 550mhz & the vsel is 56 for the milestone
Why not use SetVsel app? Its specially for the Defy and has a defaults button to restore back to defaults.
I think he means, because the stock speed is 800mhz, on which vsel is it running on? 57 is too much i believe because battery drains quite fast.
Is there a guide to using VSEL? I've downloaded and installed it but don't have much clue as to what settings I should try.
Although the settings seem to be quite high, but here are the standard settings for clock and voltage:
[email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]
my settings (working like charm and not unstable):
[email protected]; [email protected]; [email protected]
PS: you might be able to go lower with the voltage, but use "apply at startup" only, when you're 100% sure that each setting is rockstable.
I ve started overclocking my defy
I m using the below settings
18vsel 300mhz
28vsel 500mhz
50vsel 1024mhz
Will lowering my voltage fry cpU??? or only it ll get fried if it is set it high???
Are these settings most stable
Please share your settings
my settings are:
18vsel - 300MHz
30vsel - 600MHz
45vsel - 800MHz
lowering the vsel can't fry your cpu, it only can cause hang or reboot, but afaik that can't cause damage.
run a stress test to find out whether those settings are stable, it varies with different devices, e.g. mine wasn't stable at [email protected]
UPDATED!!
now at
18vsel 250mhz
30vsel 600mhz
49vsel 1024mhz
Stabiltytest was fine for an hour but I increased vsel, after I got problems in Youtube and data connection on Wifi and 3G.
Hi all,
I'm currently using Cyanogenmod 7 RC0 on my Defy, the rom is excellent but I have an issue with the overclock settings, I set max cpu to 1000Mhz but it doesn't save and just defaults back to a max of 800!
Never mind Quadrant tells me that it is at 1000mhz, although maxcpu frequency says 800 hehe

on 2.14.401.1 I was getting around 1940 points with 806mhz oc and new adreno libs (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1539281), but the new score is good enough for me.
P.S. this kernel is stock (without swap, ext..., etc). If you want more space on your phone, I advise to use SystemCleanup from GooglePlay (you can long press on any system app and choose "update system app" for any stock app, EXCEPT for updated HTC clock widget - it will break it). If you need other frequency... tough luck, you have to do it yourself (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500419)
Default setting is 480-800Mhz Ondemand Deadline ?
Wifi doesn't work on mine with this kernel!!
On my device everything works.

Wifi is not working or whole kernel ? Do you have 2.26.401.3 version ?

if the phone is not loading after flashing, either you did not install 2.26 update or your phone does not support overclocking to 806Mhz. Kernel is bare stock, so all stock functions will work.
Rioachim, default setting is 480-800 Ondemand deadline ?

Yes, 480-806 ondemand, but it goes to 245 in sleep and also has htc stock perflock driver which I noticed it increases out-of-sleep response without affecting battery as much as smartass (personal opinion only)

then you are the unlucky owner of a lazy Wildfire S
Not impressed at all.
First of all, to any that were complaining their WiFi broke after applying this kernel, mine works just fine. That is the (only) good news.
The kernel itself isn't that useful. You've got a LIMITED amount of frequencies (19 Mhz? For real?) The only overclocked speed is 806Mhz. And finally, when I set CPU options with No-Frills, the settings don't stick (in fact, they are translated wrong.) I pick 600 Mhz max, but the kernel runs at 806 Mhz max. (wtf?)
This kernel might be good for some phone, but not our Wildfire S.
Soon, marvel will be part of the cm project. So, a new working kernel will be around.

Come on, this is STOCK kernel. (which has perflock and NO settings = SetCPU does NOT work, as in original kernel).
This kernel is not for you, it's for people which have better things to do than trying frequencies/governors (kernel only has top speed modified from 600Mhz to 806Mhz, that's all!!!).
my phone is not working with this kernel.. i need to flash a new ROM now

Hi
Is it possible, as for today, to set minimum clock speed for GPU when device goes into deep sleep mode (screen turns black) ?
I suppose when phone screen switchess off, gpu speed runs at min speed (300mhz) ?. I would like it to be never less then 450mhz
I don't know, sorry. But you've made me curious, why would you want to keep the GPU running faster than needed, when the screen is off?
You need a custome kernel that supports that and a kernel app that can give the commands. Unless you are good with scripts and feel confident to change that manually.

G4 GPU minimum speeed is 180MHz and max 600MHz. I check it with faux clock but setting dont stick propertly.

It happens that the lowest frequency of gpu kills music played through bluetooth. Its unstable, music skips. I know this for a fact because on rooted lg g3 i played a little bit with it and when setting gpu to at least 350mhz in deep sleep music could be played flawlessly.
Anyways, thats what i wanna do with my G4 and seems when i'll root my phone forthcoming weekend i should be able to do it with "Faux123 Kernel Enhancement Pro"
It's available from google playstore. Anyone familiar with this tool ?
Finally..
İ find it that settings for gpu, with this setting, you will be able to change the frequency of the GPU in standby mode while the screen off, this setting was 300 mhz by default on my device, so the device was consuming too much battery in standby mode so I made the default standby frequency 180mhz, you can give it the frequency you want
My device is lg g4, gpu frequency range 180 mhz -600 mhz among,
download this program first
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gmail.gogoshopa5.cpusettingsgl
Needs root auhority
After go to gpu tab
Click on button then scroll down
You can see it default_pwrlevel
you can give this value the frequency that the GPU will use in standby mode
For Lg g4 5 equivalent of value 180 mhz
4 equivalent of value 300 mhz
3 equivalent of value 367 mhz
2 equivalent of value 450 mhz
1 equivalent of value 490 mhz
0 equivalent of value 600 mhz

But I want more information and help...
In my device already available OpenCL GPU...
But shown my OpenCL GPU frequency 1 MHz.. how can I increase my OpenCL GPU frequency?..
Can you please help me ... please help me...
