Hi,
Yesterday, I installed new CM7 rom on my htc desire. everything works fine, but widgets installed or moved sd card could not be used because they are not appearing on widgets.
is it bug?
thanks...
No, is what is supposed to happen. If you need the space use A2SD (the one with the ext partition).
ok,
Thank you...
Sory,
one question, is it possible to make A2SD (Partition) with Rom Manager?
Yes, but keep in mind that the sd card will be wiped during the process so copy important stuff to your pc.
ok, thank you again...
Hi,
I partitioned sd-card as
11... gb fat32
4... gb ext3
32 mb linux swap
but my phone does not see the ext3, should I reflash the rom or did something wrong?
Keep your ext partition under 2gb then try again. Also make sure you read up on A2SD because a lot of people think it doesn't work when it does work.

Hey Guys,
I've been installing CM9 on my Desire.
I have an 8Gb Class 10 SD card, but it doesn't seem to work.
I either have no spece, or if I move the apps to the sd the phone is extremely laggy.
I have also tried moving dalvik and cache to the sd card, but still it's really laggy.
Am I doing something wrong? Or is this a common issue and should I switch to other roms?
I also had the same problems with CM7.
Thanks a mil!
Cheers
Paul
Did you format your SD card? If not you should do it:good:
What is this, some new type of daily threads? Two today with keywords ICS, space, low.
As usual, read my sig. A few times if need be.
How big is the sdext? With what did you partition it ?

Looking through the xm forums here there are a few methods suggested by which i can install apps on my sd card,
I have a few questions for anyone who has tried these
-Firstly do any of these work in cm 11 all listed instructions are for 4.1/4.2
-Is it possible to use a ext partition on my sd card, on my previous phone i used s2e and apps were installed to a ext partition on my sd card
so far i have tried links2SD but it doesnt seem to work for me with cm 11
Any other suggestions or advice is welcome

new member here, and because of spam policy no outside link possible so you'll have to make some copypasta.
i have the same issues with cm11 on my n7000 and found this article:
technicles.com / how-to-partition-sd-card-and-use-link2sd-to-free-up-internal-memory
making a backup of all my files and then test it.
report later..
Hello there everyone!
I recently got a Tab S 8.4 (t-700) with 16 GB, and found out that the internal storage is not enough when you want a decent amount of apps and games. My question is that any of you got Link2SD working (without a custom ROM)? I rooted my tab and then put TWRP recovery (I wanted CWM, but haven't found it for this tab) on it, partitioned my 32 GB Samsung SD card (1st partition ~24 GB FAT32, 2nd partition ~8 GB ext2/ext3/ext4 (tried all of them) with EaseUS Partition Master, and MiniTool (tried both of them)), and all I get from Link2SD is "Mount Script cannot be created. mount: Invalid argument). Does anybody know how to solve this? I tried partitioning with TWRP but I get "device not found" error when I try to start the partitioning, even thought the SD card is mounted and FIle manager can use it. I also tried to look for this problem on the googles and the forums, but 90 % of threads are +2 years old and not really helpful.
Every bit of help is appreciated.
I am on iron rom which is an stock based rom with a few mods. I formatted my sd by going to into settings>general>storage and scroll down till you see format sd. Of course i didnt need to do that as my sd card was already working. Hope this helps
Thank you for your response, but my question was not how to format my SD card. The SD works fine if I want to use it normally without partitioning. I want to make it work with Link2SD.
Doing this worked for me. I formatted my sd with this and it worked fine with linktosd but I have no idea why yours wont work. Sorry
Formatting the SD card in the settings will create a single FAT32 partition on the card. What I'm trying to do is make 2 partitions on the SD card (which I have already done), and mount one with Link2SD, because most apps won't work or move a very little amount of Data to the SD when it's normally formatted. Link2SD has the ability to mount an ext2-3-4 formatted partition, so the apps work with it. I just can't figure it out why it won't work with mine, and asking if other people who has tried the Mounting method has any experience. The "native" method of moving apps to the SD with Link2Sd does a different thing and that's not what I'm trying to accomplish.
EDIT:
Here is a relatively old guide of what I'm trying to do: LINK
Hey, im also having that same problem with my tab s 8.4, i have tried creating ext2, 3 and 4, and even fat32, but none works, did you manage to find a way to make it work??
thankss
Did you ever get Link2SD working? I had it working on my Asus TF700 by using GParted to partion my sd card and everything worked perfectly. Do not know what the difference is but everyone said I had to use GParted.
Just create an ext2 partition on your sd card and link2sd will detect it. I've had it working with link2sd plus.
What's the problem?

You need to use the latest version from play.
I'm already using the latest version of Link2Sd but still not working.
I am also looking into using an SD card to move apps to via Link2SD....also on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (10.1 wifi version)
Good to know someone tried this recently
Have you tried using gparted to partition the SD card? A lot of the stuff I ran into online recommends this as the partitioning tool. I have worked with linux before doing more "advanced" stuff like this with android and it's a great tool for many platforms (also it works, unlike other partitioning programs I have used prior to it)
Will keep checking back here and will also let you know what happens when/if I try to do this...

Is it official, already patched or have you attempted to patch it?
If so then it wont work. I know it works.

You can use any partitioning tool that handles ext2,3 or 4.
Minitool partition wizard is good for this on Windows.

Does the format we use (ext 2, 3 or 4) matter for Link2SD?
Does it need to be the same as the original file system of the tablet itself? (in this case the Tab S)

@therajatshahare: I was able to use Link2SD with two different SD cards. ON both of them, I was able to use Link2SD to move the app + lib + dex files of several applications (including several games and Facebook) to and from the SD card with no issue.
The only issue I had was when I unmounted my previous SD card (because it wasn't partitioned), two of my apps did not work and I had to reinstall them through Google Play.
I also bought the full version of Link2SD so that I can move even the app data to and from the SD cards as needed
@ashyx: Also, I had no issue partitioning the SD card using Minitool Partitioning in Windows. Again, I partitioned two cards using this windows app, both of them with roughly half the space formatted to ext2, and the other half as FAT32.
So.....no issues from this end. Tested successfully and working as intended
