I would love to drop some cash for your purchase so i can unlock my wife's new uscc wildfire s. I am near appleton so if you have a spare bit of time and want to recover some of your cost let me know. I was not able to talk her out of this phone and she hates senseui now that she's used it... Ok, so i'm in the Army and currently working in Afghanistan at the moment. I've done my 6 moths and i'm out of here in 9 days!
I want to get home to find a new phone and the Desire is the one i chose.
(My Touch diamond 2 broke out here so i threw it in the bin)
I've got the money to buy it out right but actually which is the best way to buy it?
I've seen people complaining that the T-mobile ones are using old roms, so i'm a bit hesitant to buy it if it's flawed (nothing can be worse than the TD2 though right?)
So as i can wait 9 days anyway, and if you guys were in the same position, what would you do?
I've got a good contract with t-mob that expires in oct.
Is it best to buy it out right and when my contract runs out, get t-mobile to give me a really cheap renewel offer (since i wont need phone either)

its brown, silver versions right now are exclusive to Netherlands and Germany

The only one that is POSSIBLY known to be coming out is the Telstra Desire. I posted this on here and HoFo -

I know that the Telstra HTC HD was imported by some people in the U.S. because it carried the frequencies to catch AT&T 3G.
Dont know if this is the right place to post, but this is the only marketplace type forum I have seen for droid2..
Anyway, I am looking to buy a broken/bricked droid2 to replace the speaker/mic in mine.. mine was roasted and due to having it rooted and using it on a different network then verizon, no warranty or insurance.. and I refuse to pay the insane prices the "Authorized Motorola Repair center" wants to charge for labor on something that takes about 3 minutes to remove and replace..
So if anyone out there has a droid2 that is nothing more then a paperweight for you but the speaker/mic still works, then please let me know so we can see if we can work something out.

Taking a look at the XTC Lists on the forum I noticed no-one has mentioned anything about the North West of UK (manchester, liverpool etc) I was wondering if anyone has an XTC-Clip or knows of any mobile shops around the area that might?

I've not found anything conclusive yet, I found a market stall in St Helens that offered to unlock my phone for 40 quid, the lad knew about rooting but was lost when I mentioned S-on :-( Another lead I had turned out to be nothing more than a barrow boy in St Johns market in Liverpool who knew very little about the xtc-clip, there used to be a cracking mobile shop on walton road Liverpool, that lad knew his stuff but I'm not sure if its still there.

Dont feel bad about it, I presumed it would be easy to S-off this phone, if on my travels I find a reasonably priced 'service ' for this I will post it back here. Buying the clip for one use isn't really viable.
I can post you one to borrow from the UK, all you have to do is pay postage there and send it back to me when you're done

Ok so I just sold an E4gt on ebay and I specifically said ask questions before bidding on and there are no returns so I did cma, and but the buyer didn't ask me questions til after the auction ended so it's his own fault.
Anyway I am just trying to help him out if I can. This guy lives in Cambodia and I'm wondering if anyone knows if the E4gt can be flashed to work over there? I did look and found out they have a cdma network and more specifically it covers his city, but I was wondering if anyone knows or has any knowledge of getting the E4gt to work over there? I know it's fairly easy to get this device on cricket or boost here in the US but I'm sure that's because there's alot of great developers here that tirelessly work on it. If anyone can throw a little knowledge my way as quick as possible I would really appreciate it, because I'm debating if I should accept a return, and refund his money, and resell the device.
I had the device sent to his friend in California because his friend is going to Cambodia in a couple days, and he wanted to avoid duty taxes/fees. The phone is supposed to be in California tomorrow so that's why I need the info asap, as so I can have it shipped and back before the guy leaves the US if the flashing is not possible and I decide to refund his money.
On a side note the phone has a bad esn and is basically brand new, about a week and a half of usage with a ballistic sg case on it the whole time. It is in perfect condition if anyone is interested in it. Anyway thanks for your help.

The screen has no scratches or cracks, and the outside plastic case just has a few minor scuffs. I see people selling cracked phones on eBay for $100+ so I'm wondering if its realistic for me to get someone to actually want to buy this device for around the same amount.
Also, anything special I should do before selling it? I'll take out SIM card of course, but should I leave it rooted so others don't have to or just return to stock?

I'll take the xda friends discount and take it off your hands for $30
But really, I would leave it rooted, but put a stock rom with a fresh wipe on it if it were me. Just make sure you clarify that on the listing. As far as price...That's really anyone's guess, but averaging some ebay prices for similar condition should get you close or tack on 20-25 more than the damaged ones.
I have a pretty good condition one with a bunch of accessories I'm trying to get rid of. Thinking of calling Verizon and getting it unlocked to sell for more as a true global phone.
