Official Gingerbread: change Exchange app notification sound - Desire General

Can I change the Exchange app's Notification sound? It's currently linked to the sound set in the Menu > Sounds > Notification Sound. This bugs me, I used to be able to set the one from Exchange to something totally different!
Is this possible under the HTC Desire with GB?
FYI: Search didn't show anything on the Desire, only on the Desire HD which has a different version of Sense and thus more options on that.

I checked and should say no, there is only sound notification on/off.

I checked this myself and there doesn't appear to be an option! Strange..

[Q] Notification Sounds not changing on Aurora v03 [Sense 3.0|Android 2.3.5]

I running Aurora V03 and now I can't change the notification sound! It allows me to select a new tone and click apply however when I receive a text message the tone I have selected doesn't sound.
When I go back to the settings the tone I selected is still selected but that is not the tone that sounded.
The tones are saved in \media\audio\notifications
My phone is S-Off and the HBOOT is CM7r2. Is anyone else having similar problems, or have a solution, for this otherwise excellent ROM.
There is a seperate setting for message notifications.
Go to messages, press menu and then go to settings.

First of all do you want custom notification sound or select a stock one? the stock one is working good you can select what you want and its working, but if you want custom notification sounds put it in /system/media/audio/notifications with root explorer or with any file manager with root access.
I never realised there was a seperate setting for texts, thanks 325i.

Nfc task launcher and changing notification sounds

I am trying to setup a tag in my car to change the notification sounds to silent so my wife doesn't ask "what was that" every time I get an email and it isn't working. Has anyone been successful in using nfc task launcher to do this? I this is on a HTC One x. I tried to turn the volume down but the ringer and notification sounds are linked. Please help

Edit: Grabbed a one X and gave it a shot. HTC makes default and silent the same thing >.> so when you set silent it selects default. I'll dive in tomorrow and get it sorted. Thanks HTC for another oddball implementation...
I even downloaded a silent tone from zedge and it still doesn't work
Edit: I just checked again with one of the other tones and it worked but with the tone named silence didn't work. The one that did work wa an HTC preinstalled tone though so maybe it won't work with non HTC tones I don't know.

Interestingly on my One X I can't even manually set it to silent for notification tone. Normally this would correlate to -1 as the media store position. Can you manually set the tone to slient on your one x?

The only way is to use a silent ring tone from somewhere like zedge. The volume for ringer and notification sounds are linked.

There is a "silent" option in the sound picker for AOSP devices. This is non functional though on HTC devices it seems (which is unfortunate).

[Q] How to disable HTC Beats Audio

How to disable Beats Audio in the notification bar on JB?
This could be done in ICS by disabling beats notification in Apps, however HTC removed this in JB.

This bugs me too, but I don't think there's anything that can be done about it without rooting the phone and some hacking... :/

Go to settings> Beats Audio and switch it off. It'll only work when you have your headphones plugged in.
For rooted device
If you have unlocked your bootloader (rooted your phone) then : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1973781
