Hello, I have a HTC DHD and i need help. I want to install a new ROM on it but i have 2.3.3 so i can't root it. My question, Can someone give me a program to my computer so i can install it that way or do i have to wait to i can root it? Please help.

hello guys i have htc desire hd and i need the phone to get rooted to be able to install hebrew fonts for example(like menu ,settings etc) and support arabic (connected characters) but it seems i couldn't make it because the build number is 1.72 and this version cannot be rooted so what you prefer guys to update to 2.3 gingerbread or to downgrade the software number ?indeed I have no experience how to update htc version !!

You need to downgrade the phone first to root, then you can install which ever Rom you like, search the forum there is a guide

i have no idea what is goldcard and should i make one ? i bought the phone from ebay and i dont know if it's branded or not

You will lose everything, and you do not need a goldcard.

2.get to cmd and write the commands (my quistion which method should i use the froyo or gigngerbread and should i do the section 3?
Your phone has android 2.2.1, which is Froyo. Then section 3.

Send it to me & I will root it, sell it on eBay and. Send you my old Nokia 3210. Seems that's about as sophisticated a phone as you can manage

Gasan ask in the thread I posted, its specifically there for that purpose.
But be prepared for:
a) You need some rudimentary understanding of computers
b) You need to understand that anything like this has the risk of making your phone unusable (bricked)
c) Read the ENTIRE thread before you expect anyone to help when you ask any questions, I know this is a bit of a pain but we all had to do it once and it will get you more insight into the process and less rage from the people who spend all their time writing and coding this stuff.

Its not that we don't want to help, firstly this is the development section, you do not post questions here, there is a separate forum for that.
Secondly you need to use the search function, there's a lot of guides and info here to help. You should at least go through them before posting blindly.
Lastly, welcome to the forum, enjoy and respect the rules .
Hi all i'm new here and have just bought a desire z. I need help on perm rooting the device the simplest way possible because i want to install custom ROMS. Here are the details of my device the phone is not sim locked and is running stock ROM 2.2. You're in the right section but quite frankly the best way to do it is the follow the guide , I did it with NO prior experience and it worked flawlessly just follow the guide on the desire z page of cyanogen wiki I would link but on my iPod ATM

I have downloaded and done as given in the link...but the problem is ..when i open the unrevocked3 may be...this soft and it says waiting for the device and it still after 10 minutes says waiting..and also having some ADB problem...how to solve that...thanks in advance

Have been given a second hand HTC Wildfire, it is s locked and hboot is 1.02.0000,am wondering how i would go about rooting and unlocking it,as a friend has told me to get cyogen7 on it? am pretty new to flashing and rooting so was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of an idiots guide? thanks

find latest AHK and follow the instructions.. I rooted my phone yesterday and i didn't have latest AHK, I spent 6 hours just to root my phone...

Search for Advance Ace Hack Kit on Google. If not, look in the Desire HD General section for Ace Think Tank and look there, the team over there (me included ) will help you out

Yes, first get AAHK, unfortunately it has been removed from XDA, you you must google for it. I have made a small guide on rooting and backing up apps prior to flashing new ROMs, might shed some light too: http://projects.lanik.org/AndroidProjectROMs.htm

The ONLY working tool is the Hack Kit as everybody said. Find it here: http://tau.shadowchild.nl
As long as you follow the instructions in the Site and in the effen manual and your phone has no hardware issues, you will be fine and nothing will happen. The Hack Kit has been used thounsand of times successfully. You even have an IRC support channel in case you get stuck, besides the thread that Guy told you. :cyclops:
before you use the hack kit, be aware that it will downgrade your os, root it, s-off, and delete all user data.
