Recently I switched to RevolutionHD Rom (SuperWipe and Sense UI) and everything worked fine but now since yesterday no matter what I do, the keyboard won't show.
Tried holding a inputfield for 3 seconds but the Input Select won't show either. If I go into Languages & Keyboard settings everything looks ok and Touch Input is turned on.
Anyone know about this problem or how to fix it?
Regards
Draz
Have you tried to hold the "Menu" button down? If that doesn't work you can install a new keyboard, which you'll have to do from the web market (since you can't search)
Or you can do a factory reset.
Try clearing cache and Davlik from recovery before factory reset. Might fix it.

I have been running a variety of ROMS for a few months now without issue. Each time, I wipe data, then cache, and then sometimes dalvik.
I fear there is still some data SOMEWHERE causing me the following problem:
For the past two weeks, I cannot change my keyboard on any ROM. I press and hold on the input field, select change input, and then choose a different keyboard (I usually have android, htc's, and swype), but no matter what I choose it stays on the one that was before. The only way I've been able to get off of the android keyboard is by uninstalling it from the ROM.
Is there something I am missing.. OR something I can do to wipe what ever data is causing this bug?

I had the same problem with swype and how I fixed that was to go to manage applications and killed touch input. Went to compose a text message and long press (as if your going to paste) and changed the input method. I only had just got that problem when changing to Uncommon Sence 1.1 so i dont know if that would help your and your ROM.
Hey Guys!
My Android Market stopped work after update to UK 3.4.2-117
When I was with FW2.21. It's OK.
I already tried to Clean Data, Cache... another Google Account... with 3G and WiFi, but nothing...
When I trying to download anything from Market... It's write "start downloading..." Then dissapear and nothing...
Sorry about my english...
Thanks a lot!
This happens to me sometimes too. When it starts downloading, go back into the app info screen and watch the progress bar.
I tried, but the progress bar show me "starts downloading" then dissapear and appear after 1 second in the same screen, for example I'm getting Angry Birds -> Install -> OK -> Download screen with progress bar -> dissapear before download -> appear "Angry Birds Free" not installed... If I install another program from my SD It's appear normally "Installed".
Thanks!
I have the same problem with the market. Help plase.
Up!
The problem persists
I got that, too, some time ago with my x10 mini. I needed to wipe the market data and created a new google mail account, though its a known googlebug and there its no 100% working fix for that.

starting to have this problem takes about 5-7 tries to get something to download and install off the market going to see if wiping the market app data will help
I'm having the same problem with downloading from the Market since flashing to 3.4.2. On top of that the earpiece on my defy has just stopped working so I need to send it in for repair!
Please help!
Could one of the experts take pity on us and help us find out what's causing this?
Even if I reflash the SBF using RSD Lite it doesn't fix the problem.
Any suggestions would be gratefully received!
Fixed it!
I got it working again by doing a factory reset from recovery and then when setting up the google account I created a new account instead of using my existing account. When I went into the market I was then able to download.
I then did another factory reset and used my old account and I was still able to download things from the market.
Hope this works for the rest of you.
i believe contrem is the best way to sort it out.. otherwise you might need to reflash using "RSD Lite".

I did the recovery, create a new account in google, but the problem still here...
I have the same problem with the market heeeeelp pleaseee!!!
I also have this problem recently. Seems to happen after I setup some email accounts. But removing those email accounts didn't help. Also tried cleaning cache/data etc but that didn't help neither.
I've given up. I can download almost everything anyway (I read Chinese )
I have finally solved by problem. Clearing Market cache is not enough. Have to terminate Market, set locale to English (US), and turn off wifi before restart Market. After the terms and conditions show up, can set locale back to your preference and turn on wifi again.
UHUL! Finally I fixed my market
I entered in the Stock Recovery Mode and Wipe Data. Doing that you will reset your phone.
I'm using Froyo (2.2)
This is the guide to enter Recovery mode
1 - Power off your Phone
2 - Long Press the Volume Down Button, then Press the power button to power on your Phone
3 - When you see the Green Android Robot, press the Volume Down+Up (together) Button
4 - Use menu with the volume up/down and power button to confirm.
Thanks! and Good Luck!
Installed newest stock GB rom from the dev section from 6/ 3/ 11. Did not flash radio's on same kernal thay came with Rom. S-off rooted clockwork recovery. Busybox is 1.17 have also trie 1.18 and 1.19. Uninstalled and reinstalled titanium backup. Question or issue is when freezing installing or installing any app it hangs on the message saying whatever ie. Teeter is being uninstalled etc... Just hangs at that screen cant back out or do anything at that point except bring up recent apps switch to one then get back to Home screen at that poimt i have to force close TB. It will show the action was performed but its just really odd.. Anyone else experience this or have a solution? Thanks for any advice
Update: when its hanging up pressing back menu or home does nothing long pressing home brings up recent apps still. However pressing the search key clears the notification box off the screen and lets me keep using app normally "shrug"

Hi all,
For past few days i have been getting the strange issue. When i turn on my phone nothing would come and only black screen would show up. Then after few seconds i get message saying "launcher is not responding"...
I have tried both stock and nova launcher but same issue. I reflashed stock rom again and still same problem.
My Rom: ICS 4.0.2 Stock and stock kernel.
I want to keep stock rom so what is the solution? Why does this happen? Thanks

did you at any point between flashes, factory reseted the device?
did you try clearing app data/cache?
concerning nova launcher, you should post this under its related thread
concerning stock launcher, you should try and reach [email protected] groups
people flash all kinds of stuff but one ANR (application not responding) comes along and all hell breaks loose. get adb logcat when you're booting up/entering Android UI.
i can't wipe data or cache as i have stock recovery.I don't have CWM. i will upload the logcat soon. Thanks

if you press up (or up+power) on stock recovery, it will give you a recovery menu if i'm not mistaken (i may not recall it correctly).
and i was talking about the app data/cache that you clear in Settings > Apps as well, not just the ones in recovery.

Here is the Logcat. I already wiped everything when i flashed stock rom 4.0.2 with XXKK6.
Launcher not Responding
I'm getting a similar problem with my new Galaxy Nexus. I'm running stock ICS 4.0.1, kernel 3.0.1 on the bell mobility network. I've installed a few apps, but nothing which seems too unpopular. Here is the list I had installed when the launcher was performing flawlessly:
Swype Keyboard
Draw Free
Bell Mobile TV
Volume+
Here's what I've installed recently since launcher has become unstable:
Flashlight v. 1.3.0
Skype
StumbleUpon
TED
Sudoku Free
Here's whats been installed since:
Tip n Split
Antivirus Free
RealCalc
Quite regularly I am getting the "Launcher is not responding" message with a request to wait, report, or close the launcher. The home screen will lock up temporarily and none of the buttons will become usable. I've checked the ram usage, and it is holding at around 400mb. Clearing a bunch of apps from the cache or running screen does not change the frequency of freezes. I have also tried resetting the Nexus to factory defaults without any new apps, but it only took about an hour before I got the 'Launcher is not responding' message.
Anyone have any ideas for re-stabilizing ICS?
Thanks!
There is a part in the logcat talking about a channel that is unrecoverably broken... seems 1 of the fc's, power outage or something else left a file half written in your system.
Try performing a factory reset (which will wipe all userdata and give you a clean system)
if this doesn't work and you've had your phone unlocked reflash the system, boot and recovery again (using fastboot) (how to do that is explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391881 )
If you have not tempered wit the system in any way (not rooted, no custom roms and no custom recovery) send it back to the store and get it fixed under warranty. When you can't or don't want to contact your seller proceed with reflashing your system at your own risk.

This is my wife's phone, stock ROM not rooted, no mods whatsoever. She has issues where she will copy text but is unable to get the paste menu to appear. I even tried a work around by installing Native Clipboard and the same thing happens, no paste menu appears. I've done all the usual like clear cache and reset the keyboard defaults. All that is left is restore and I am trying to avoid this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
