Sprint's website is now advertising the Evo 4G with 2.3
Do you think the update will be pushed out anytime soon?

I say give it within a month. Most of us here on AOSP are already on 2.3.4.

It's obviously a typo. As for whether it means that an official 2.3 is coming out soon... It's kinda hard to say for sure, but we are coming up on that Q2 deadline that seems to have been thrown around. So, if that timeframe is honest then it should be another month at most.
I lucked out in that I have an Epson screen, so I'm running the 2.3 with Sense that's out, without the screen brightness problem. Close enough to flawless for me

A lot of it is rumors that guy the OP put a link to the wrong phone and thought it was the evo 4g . So it's not reliable . But the evo 4g will get a OTA soon dunno what it is tho.

Yeah that thread is full of speculation. However, if you go on to sprint.com and check out the evo, it does say that it ships with android 2.3
But, as I said earlier, it's a typo.

Well I believe sprints site. Doubt it was a typo lol if it is I wouldn't wanna be the guy that did it his ass be on fire from the boss if it was lol.

I dunno. My guess is that there was a bulk update to the site and this just happened to slip through.
I admit though, I really hope that I'm wrong and that we really are getting an official 2.3 really soon.

Yep. SalvageMod 1.2.1 (Nightly #26) is definitely 2.3.4 and I love it. Still, I look forward to the upcoming Sense version, however, if it's like the leaked version, I'll pass on it and stay with SalvageMod.

Its not at all a typo, it says 2.3 in multiple spots throughout their site and one of them even boasts "Now with Android 2.3!"

Engadget posted that this morning. They updated it and said it was mistakenly posted

I've Made this thread in par with the [Dev-only] ICS development only thread so that all questions,comments and or even THANKYOUS can be posted here. Please do try and keep this thread alive without any idiocy (spam). DO NOT post in the Dev thread u less u have actual development. It doesn't matter how argue-mental the post become as long as it still always is related to ICS. As long as everyone just stops making new threads about ICS.

What can I do to help the devs working on this project?

I'm starting to think his phone won't get it. Hell the old Droid got it and we have hardly anything going on for this phone.

According to someone of a dev level ICS is extremely close so just be patient.

I don't necessarily understand it. I've used ics and it's pretty good, but the roms we currently have in the dev section are really awesome. Yeah, ics has some great tweaks that I look forward to coming to this device, but I'm pretty content and happy with the current roms and development we have. Thanks to all the devs!

Im sure they dont want to give us something half done. Wait till they have a stable build then they will drop it.

Call me what you want. I have the money to get a pics phone. I just don't want it. I have ICS on my zoom. Also don't make a thread about discussion of ICS if you don't like hearing others opinions.

I'm pretty sure they will release a ICS update for it. The community will more than likely release one first though.

Samsung will have one, but it will have TouchWiz. But a lot of us want either pure ICS or a CM9 build, ya know?

The only reason im waiting ics for my epic is native otg support..

I just read through that whole thread and that was bull.
Honestly, What could have been a funny gag got pushed way beyond and people blamed sextape for not laughing along. I don't know why people got mad at him for being upset that he got a crapload of PMs from people with their hands out., expecting something.
I just wanted to be one of the ones that thanks him for everything. Hopefully we'll still see him around. I'm not very vocal in threads but his Adele sex tape jokes really gave me a ton of laughs the past few days.
This is how xda goes. And it seems to be getting worse.
This isn't a "mad at everyone" post. The ones who acted like assholes know who they are. I still think there are a ton of cool people on here.
Ps... If he gets another leak, I hope he posts a million screen shots and just laughs
Final note.. I'm not gonna say any more on this, I don't want to turn this into a thing, just really wanted to get that off my chest

But to be very honest, u mightve ruined leaks for us just because u felt like making ppl spam his inbox like really?? I myself hate bothering devs for anything but to thank them amd instead u push them for leaks that they dont have to leak. This should just be dropped. But the damage is done....
Can all threads that have to do with leaks be closed until leakz are posted????

No one ruined leaks for us. These leaks are on purpose. People don't risk losing their jobs. They wanted us to test unofficially and I doubt they will stop now. If anything they will get leaked under another new ID

First ROM project help

First off, I wanna say thanks to the community that has inspired me to learn about android to the point that I wanna start work on my own first project. Basically I wanna make a Stock sense 2.1 ROM, with added in tweaks and my own spin on some stuff. I'm gonna need a few things.
1) I need some devs who can help me, by answering questions, and also talking me through stuff.
2) I will eventually need testers. I only want a few, because I don't wanna be bombarded with all kinds of bugs lol. I have a few people in mind.
If you think you can help, send me a PM and in the subject line, indicate what you're wanting to help with (ie: dev or tester).

Word of advice, don't get too caught up in developing for gingerbread. Study and use ics as well because its the future for our phone. I don't want to see you spend months on this and have no one use it. I know its your first ROM but think ahead.

Gingerbread is solid and will enable the basics. Once those are good and we actually have a leaked kernel for ics it would be smart to move on.

If you were worried about wether or not or how long before we get root exploit, rest at ease! Also @preludedrew (Andrew Boren) tweeted 9 hours ago he would be available for upgrade June 1st. I tweeted him back that he can probably buy out his contract for <$50, I bought out one of my lines for $75 and it had a year left.
I'm gonna be LTEvo X 2!! Hehehehehehehehe
