So I was wondering if there are any lag fixes for touchwiz4. Can anyonebplease explain to me why touchwiz (old and new one) is soo laggy when switiching screens? This is especially noticeable when using a live wallpaper. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I get what you're saying there prevails to not be a fix. Just touchwiz in general.

Anyone know if this would work on Touchwiz? I don't use it.

i have no idea what i should do... i LOVE i mean LOVE touchwiz and i had a mytouch 3g and was slow as fck until i put cm6 on it and it was zippy! So if there is a willing dev... is it possible if yall can make touchwiz and cm7 together?
Phresh , CM7 is AOSP and TouchWiz isn't , do you mean the launcher because if you want stock GSII modified launcher it's possible as for the application's I don't think so .

Phresh , CM7 run's flawless though . Push the TWLauncher30.apk to /system/app then reboot your phone or press home and it should be there on a list of option's .

Unfortunately, no. Not without some serious framework porting to the SGH-T989. It's a shame, too. The browser is probably one of the best available for Android. You can get the TouchWiz launcher here, though. It's never been as fluid as the original for me, though.

TW's browser uses hardware accelerated animations and scrolling. Sure, it may not have a huge amount of features, but it's the only browser I've used on any mobile device that's been able to handle high Flash websites without a single bit of lag or jitter. The browser was half the reason I bought an SGSII.
Dolphin is fine, but the scrolling can get very jittery, there's no gesture support, and Flash videos slow it down considerably. It's nice, but those of us who don't need as many features...

Is the stock launcher not very fluid in its tasks? Switching between menus, settings and apps isn't always smooth. I'm not saying the phone isn't fast but the transition between one thing to another tends to be jerky for me.
Not be anal, just doesn't seem right for a high end device.

Smooth as can be fore me.
Butter here.
smooth for me but i use apex launcher much better than stock.

Not this again..... there are like 10 other threads asking what is the best ROM/kernel.
Look at all the roms in dev forums and find which one best suites you.
most popular combo is most likely aokp + franco.

Me too. Apex seemed a bit buggy to me. Dunno if I want buy it yet.
Say what you want but ratings 4.8 by 5000+ viewers
Stock launcher seems smooth until you try apex (or some others)
Or will they still work in nova launcher? (obviously still on a Sammy rom, not aosp)
Thanks
You obviously still can use all the features with another launcher, you just have to use stock apps (video player, email, gallery, dialer ... etc)
To make use of spen features, you only need those tw frameworks. You may use spen features on any launcher provided you have those frameworks.
And as you said,it will work on Sammy based roms only.It won't work on AOSP,AOKP roms as they lack tw frameworks.....

As others have mentioned before, you can use any launcher.
But for the S-Pen functionality, you need to use the stock apps provided by Samsung.
You "might" lose out on some of the functionality, if you change the launcher. This is just my guess.

I just thought of quick command, I think it only works on TW's home screens and app drawer.
Thanks, to be honest I doubt I'll use the s pen too much anyway, just want the big screen - I find my s3 too small!
So it means no SPen apps on custom roms??? I love changing my roms. Its kind of a deal breaker for me.

It will work on TW-based custom roms but on AOSP/AOKP it will behave just like your finger, no pressure sensitivity and such.

For apps that support pressure sensitivity it will work just fine (take a look at the note 10.1 forum for some examples), but I THINK you still need to be on a TW based rom. I'm not sure though, too bad I no longer have my Note 1 to check it.
i ordinarily flash straight to pure aosp from whatever manufacturer paint job the phone comes with (sense, touchwiz, blur), but after watching the hands on video i may actually stay stock with the note 2, my only reason for switching from stock on my gs3 was ICS/big red not pushing out JB, but the s-pen functions look so good.

I've not found any apps on the market that support pressure with my Flyer.
I've been using this app since the original galaxy s, but couldn't really see any improvement on the gs3 till I did some adjustments. Now my gs3 is flying. Just thought I'd share. My settings are in the pic.

Btw, I'm on frosty v11, and stock kernel.

I will give this a shot, having same lag with APEX Pro. Thanks.
Hey guys, im not sure if this has been discussed before and I have googled the issue but no one has seemed to have pointed it out.
I am currently using ATOM rom on my GSM Maguro Galaxy Nexus and I have noticed a slight delay when flicking from page to page on my apps but it only happens upon opening the app drawer... I'm not sure if explaining it in words is the right thing but its the best I can do without recording the problem with a camera as I do not have a separate recording device to do so.
I'll go into more detail however, say for example I open my app drawer and I immediately swipe across to show more of my apps, there is a 1 second delay before it decides to acknowledge what I have done. Does anyone else have this issue?
Also I would like to point out that it is not the custom roms fault as it does this on every rom I have used, including stock rom.
Its not a huge deal of a problem but it is quite annoying as sometimes i'll swipe again and end up on the widgets page of my phone because I think my phone hasn't registered my finger correctly.
Thanks for reading guys
Weird?!?! I just tried this and I don't have that issue.

are you using a custom launcher?

I was using Stock launcher, i've tried all of them launchers and they're all nice but just don't feel 'right'. I'm so picky . The ROM I am now using (installed last night) is Android Revolution HD and it seems to have solved at least a little bit of this delay which is strange because last time I had this rom installed I remember the lag still being there. I can also recall that 4.1.2 and below didn't have this random delay but 4.2.2 does?
