Without a doubt! I have an inc 1 which I just forward the number to my work phone (inc 2) and use the inc 1 as a dev phone.
Major upgrade in my opinion - speed, screen size, battery (with a good kernel), global capable, etc.

Yes everything is sharper and more crisp, the amoled screen makes everything look cartoony IMO. The LCD looks more professional, the screen itself is the perfect size, battery life is insane, and overall the Inc two is built way better than the first. The only thing I don't like is that the speaker volume is way lower than the og dinc.

It's a Super LCD screen, has more RAM than the inc 1, more room for the ROM. Faster processor and better GPU, and a bigger screen.
All around I'd say it's a much improved upgrade
Amazing phone, screen is nice, camera is pretty good, the phone is pretty fast, and as long as you tweak some settings your battery life will be awesome too. No root for it yet tho.

Silver looks cool. I have a white case on my black one.
Side rant...
Phonearena was totally unfair with that article. Do they actually try these phones before writing about them. The Droid Incredible 2 is the best phone that VZW has out now. Zero lag, nearly bug free gingerbread, best battery life of any VZW phone (20+ hrs), its a multitasking machine, great build, fast data speeds for 3g, and, more. This single core phone performs better in a side by side comparison against the x2 and d3 which lag even though they have dual cores. This phone has everything that was promised in a dual vote phone but is just single core, go figure.
+1 ............. Although, I still think I like the black better.

Sorry just saw your post. 20+ is with medium usage. I have gotten well over 24 with light usage. Heavy usage is more like 16+.
I am unrooted running stock 2.3.3 gingerbread. I have screen brightness down to 40%. I have my widgets, email, etc set to update manually. I still have auto sync and background data on. My screen time out is set to 30 secs. I use Elixir to kill background processes for apps that I don't use like VZ Navigator every once in a while. I don't kill apps that I use and need to keep in memory. I try to kill as little as possible.
Maybe try a stock based rom to get better battery as CM7 is not based on the stock OS our phones came with.

Seems to be full of trolls, but I thought it was interesting our beloved Dinc2 is still getting press on one of the bigger technology blogs.
Lack of HDMI out was a big disappointment for me. Other than that, maybe more internal storage. Still a sweet black slab...
Move the damn volume buttons from the left side to the right side.
Move the power button to the left. Much easier for right handed people to press.
Sent from my ADR6350 using Tapatalk
So far, I think there's nothing I'd change other than like mentioned above, move the power button.
Sent from my rooted MIUI Dinc2
Agreed for the power button. Using the "power button ends call" feature is kinda tough on the inc2.

What would I change? BLOAT! Hardware wise though it's pretty much perfect. I had a fascinate before this and the only thing I is the amoled screen.
Yada yada tapped
Dual core?
Sent from my ADR6350 using XDA App
It's funny - I'm right handed, and I think the power button is in a perfect spot. I usually hold the phone with my left hand and use my right thumb or index finger to perform actions. The button is in a perfect spot for my left index finger. My girlfriend has a Droid X, which has a power button further to the left, and I can't stand it. Guess it comes down to personal preference.
Anyway, I'd agree with the poster who mentioned the bloat, which is pretty absurd on the stock firmware. Not really an issue for those of us who are rooted, but definitely the biggest drawback for the average user looking at the Dinc2.
Sent from my Incredible 2 using XDA App
I'm perfectly happy with the position of the buttons and the lack of hdmi out.

No really big issues. I think 2gb internal storage is a little small. I think 8gb would of been great. However, I'm not sure how much of difference 1gb of ram would make. Otherwise, I OC it and its way faster than my old Eris. LOL

I also have an Eris, but we were lucky to have so much support on that phone. It held up for being one of the originals..
I like the Dinc2 pretty much the way it is.CPU is good enough (for now) it has enough RAM (for now) and the front facing camera is a major plus. A better antenna would be nice but their working on experiments with foil and conductive paints on one of the threads I saw here on XDA, and its only a matter of time before someone figures out a valid improvement.. I like the screen size and clarity. My Mother got a Nexus S 4g (which is an awesome phone, but has bad battery life, but she wont root it so....) but when i put my phone side by side with hers, the Dinc2 screen is so much better..
Signal on this phone SUCKS! Compared to an X2 its like comparing a child to an adult, and I have tried all those "experiments" myself, and none of them helped... Other than that, no complaints...

Actually the GSIII has a better camera, the HOX may have better camera software though. In my opinion the HOX wins in two categories only: screen and build quality/design. SGS3 wins in everything else
Call it the hardware. Call it the software. Hox takes better pictures. Also the display is brighter and crisper on one x but the blacks are definitely better on the galaxy.

I dont think the camera/optics/sensors make or break the decision on one phone or the other. They are both great.

It's not the standby mode thats great, its the aggressive task managing. People complain about multitasking, however it runs well for it when the phone is off and in your pocket because it kills everything.

Anyone feel like that the Galaxy 3 should have came out with a 5.0" screen instead of 4.8"? I feel like that a 4.8" screen is still too small to do things like access office documents or remotely connect to a PC from our GS3. Can anyone else think about what the GS3 should have came with in terms of specs?

no.
I started with the HTC hero and thought the size was good, then I got the Epic which had a 4" screen. Now I thought 4" was big and told myself I don't need any bigger, then epic touch comes out with 4.5" screen, and I grew really fond of it. Now this device comes out with 4.8" and I think this is definitely the largest I'm going.
The note is freaking huge and yes, I've played with it. The screen is nice, but when you're using the phone up to your head, when it's really big, it starts looking, well, stupid.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Definitely not; I already think 4.8" is a bit too large. The kind of tasks you want to do would be far better suited for the Nexus 7.

Eh, all the AMOLED tablets pretty much suck since they're stuffed with Touchwiz (tablet version sucks) which slow them down incredibly.
And the difference between AMOLED and LCD is really miniscule, so unless you care about blacks being a little bit deeper, it doesn't matter.
If you don't believe me, go to a store and try the Nexus 7 - - Once you actually see the screen, you'll be able to make a clear decision.

It's an amazing device.... the screen is beautiful 5.55" of a NONPENTILE Super AMOLED, stellar battery life. The quad core exynos CPU and jelly bean makes the user experience super fluid. People are also saying that the phone is too big but personally that's why I like it so much - it makes my old iPhone4S look like a toy.

Best feature this phone has is Android. Hands Down.
Slap a giant screen on an iPhone and it still is tied to iOS. Can't fix that one.
But on the serious side, the best feature to me, is the marriage of a Large screen and the extra sensitive S Pen. The large screen is great, but anyone can do a large screen. And an S Pen is great too, but it would be crap on a screen any smaller than 5" or so. Can you even imagine trying to use an S Pen on a screen the size of iPhone?
Everything else that Sammy did to make the S Pen and Screen marriage work well is important too, as without all the other pieces, this phone would leave something to complain about.

Awesome screen, awesome battery, so much horsepower and gps that really works (coming from ET4G that never locked)...
This is the best phone I've owned.

Yes i can't wait for LTE down here in Riverside. Supposedly it's going active in April/May. Do you know if SF is part of LAs release schedule?

No idea unfortunately... I think SF is going to be a slow deployment though. Doubt Sprint will risk burdening a popular city with a crappy upgrade.
