Hello to all,
I have tried the opendesire Rom and it's really really fast and is the best I think for gaming but I love sense, his widget, and better application such as calendar,
Music player, camera app dialer and Facebook integration with contact!
So my question is if is possible and how make a non sense Rom like sense with almost or all features of sense.theme style included of course.
Thanks to all

Launcher pro + has some identical widgets, you can try n use it instead...
How about a sense ROm without the keyboard, txt, contact and phone app. Leave those stock Android and hopefully have the Sense widgets.
So you want a very fast stable rom but has sense?
OD with launcherpro is proberly nearest. HTC havent released alot of the froyo source codes (for Desire) so most of the optimisations are just from a base Sense rom.
This means, there isn't alot of tuning ie. UVOC.
Can result in alot of bugs. Like removing the filling from a cake. Gonna get a bit messy.
Pinky's rom is the one i'm using atm, based on MCR if i remember....
Very stable, fast. Some issues with battery, but a bit of tuning to setCPU and your fine.
Apart from that, it does the job nicely.
I've been switching between Pinkys and OD lately. Just cant live without the sense camera, the dialer, and the incoming call screen. But OD does have the speed, battery life, stability and is a bit more "open" thanks to google passing out source codes with every happymeal.
Also, both OD and Pinky have updates available through RomManager, so you can always stay up to date
Now I have nextsense Rom and is very fast but is impossible to oc and don't have the gpu drivers that in most case can make the difference when playing heavy and not optimized games.
But I really don't like vanilla theme of od!!!and HTC has made a wonderful job with their app such as camera contacts calendar etc etc....
So it's a very big hard choice!
Whit launcherpro what can I do?

Hey guys.
Im looking for a GOOD Desire HD ROM to use on my Desire.
I want a ROM for ALLDAY not a Benchmark ROM
I want a ROM with as few as possible bugs
I want a ROM which leaves much internal storage for apps
I want a ROM which supports German
Hope u guys can give ma a few good Desire HD ROMS
Or is it better to use LeeDrOiD for now?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=768703
Seems to be a very popular ROM for my Desire right?
best hd rom
i recommend baadnwz rom it is the fastest around. it has plenty of memory and it does surport german.
Known bugs:
- 720p recording working now but records green
- Some streaming videos, shows just "audio", no video
- editing personal dictionary causes FC - due to Desire Z IM
it has the least bugs i have seen in all of the hd roms
p.s don't forget you need an ext partition
link - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861690
if you want no bugs at all then use leedroid but the sense experience is no where near as good and in my mind the new sense makes up for the bugs even with the small bugs which will be fixed pretty soon
i use z it super fast
baadnewz rom

Baadnewz is good rom, but not for allday use.
Take LeeDroid if u like sense or DeFrost if u want vanila.

Baadnewz is excellent for everyday use. Excellent battery life, fast, responsive and has all HD goodies Best ROM for me.

I used both LeeDroid and baadnewz. In my opinion baadnewz is better. I have more space for apps, I like new sence, my battery lasts more...

the only way to find out is to try them all , we could say this and that but at the end of the day what works for us might not work for you
regards
i use baadnewz btw
Thank you all for your input.
I wonder why some of you would choose Baadnwz over LeeDrOiD. Some pros and Cons would be highly appreciated
Also wonder if anyone have tried the latest Oxygen 2.3 rom and how it is compared to the previous mentioned once.
Cheers!
The new ROMs from Desire HD and Desire Z have a new launcher, which compared to the old launcher from the original Desire have a few nice additions. For example, you have auto-rotate on your main screens, better browser, more customization options and many other things. What I also noticed is that the new launchers run smoother than the old one.
This was my main reason to switch from LeeDroid (which is great and stable, by the way) to Z.
SuperVillainHD
The best rom if installed yet is the SuperVillanHD Rom! its nice, fast, stable and works perfect (now that they fixed the cam! THANKS!) i recommend it.
http://www.villainrom.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.php?150-SuperVillainHD-for-Desire
PS the only sad thing is that its been a while that they have not brought out a update! but still.... i haven't changed it yet...
tran
I would like to have a rom which doesn't drain battery so much but still enables to integrate facebook into calendar and contacts?
I tried Baadnewz but I like using Swype for input but it doesn't work very well with the new "select text" system. Is it just me or is this a known problem with the Swype/Desire HD combination?
I never really been that much into sense but I do like the widgets and customization it provides. Anyone got some good recommendations for the best sense based ROMs (in their opinion). Screenshots or links would be nice too

I'd recommend CoreDroid
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117841
coredroid for speed... but if you want maximum coolness you need Virtuous Unity http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1115333
I'd recommend InsertCoin. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1080999) It is Sense 2.1 for speed, but has some Sense 3.0 features such as the lock screen, widgets, wallpapers, etc. I tried Virtuous Unity and found it very sluggish.
Virtuous Unity for Sense 3.0 and Gingerbread
Virtuous 1.0.2 for Sense 2.1 and Froyo
I have not tried Unity yet as I am in love with Virtuous G-Lite at the moment, but I did like Virtuous 1.0.2 when I had that. There are some small bugs with Unity, according to the thread in the dev section, but generally great reviews on it.
Sent from my AOSP Virtuous Desire Z using XDA App
Senses blows... battery killer... but if u really want it. I would try virtuos unity
i also do recommend "CoreDroid Vision GB 2.3.3", any roms by siulmagic are better.but if you want fastest sense based rom then 1st shot should be "Desire_Gingerbread_sense 1.0" Unity is good but its bit slower
I'm curently using Unity Sense 3.0 and I haven't found any problems yet, which is good if you want a full Sense 3 (which is really heavy lol) but I find it runs smooth.
I had InsertCoin and have some stuff to help it movefasters, and amazing thems and the extended quick settings which are a plus.
So IncertCoin would be nice if you consider speed and like the themes.
Haven't test CoreDroid yet, but it does looks awesome.

I've used a variety of Sense and Sense-less ROMs, and never noticed a significant difference in battery life, much less anything that would make Sense a "battery killer". Things like radio and screen brightness have much more effect than Sense or no-Sense.
What blows is the stock Android camera app.
Hi guys I need a new stable rom...currently on oxygen 2.1.6 and just not enjoying the low battery life and a few other bugs...toss up as I see is between insertcoin or neophyte
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
It will be the same problem...
Main thing im looking for is good battery life
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Then AOSP ROM's like Oxygen should be best for battery life, you can also try CyanogenMod 7.
Sense ROMs are not going to help improve battery life, you're better off looking into AOSP for that. That said, you could try to alter your usage to get more battery ie: screen at a lower brightness, 3G off, no background syncing etc.
Redux is fantastic for HTC Desire, it's also a ROM that's made for the HTC Desire only, so it's very fine-tuned for it. Battery life on Redux was far better than CM7 and Sense as well.
can't post a link to the redux rom homepage due to this silly post count restriction.
Sense 2.1 + 3.0 addons ROM with awesome battery life : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170633
Really great !!!
Why don't you try to change RADIO or something ... battery life won't improve by instaling other ROM cuz oxygen is the most battery efficient ...

Indeed.
Oxygen is less overheaded!
But we have to do "try and error" many times 'cause it's the only way to determine which RADIO is the best for your carrier.
Combination with RIL and RADIO will affect your battery also.
For me, Ginger Villain 2.6 + stock RADIO/RIL + MANU Kernel was the best.
Main features from Sense 4.0 as follows:
Based on Ice-cream sandwich (long waited android OS)
Better DropBox integration with 50GB online storage (can auto mount as network drive.)
Notifications on lock screen (like iOS 5)
Enhanced email with new Sense
Guest Mode
Beats audio is now standard from HTC now on ...

Depends...
The memory footprint for sense keeps on growing and becoming larger with each new version
I suspect ICS + Sense 4.0 will take up a huge amount of memory.
I'm quite sure there will be a way to get it, but your internal memory will be less.

I thought they (htc) were suppose to have optimized 3.5 a lot for low-spec phones (i.e. bliss).
I'd guess that unless it comes to the Desire HD / Sensation then it might be a bit unlikely. ICS with sense 3.5 from the sensation doesn't seem to have had a successful port yet.

True. That have optimized the newer versions for performance and speed.
However, along the way, they have been adding new apps and widgets which take up space. (fb chat, reader, watch, notes, tasks etc) this means the footprint gets larger.
However, I have read that HTC are aware that their Sense UI has started to become bloated, and they say Sense 4.0 will be a lot different.
Hopefully that's the case.
Sent from my HTC Desire S using xda premium
i think that no... and if we run one, will be asop...
Of course it's possible, just a matter of time
it'd be easy to reduce the load on sense though by removing some of the bloatware
laputa, stocks for example I always rip out - fb chat, reader, watch can probably easily go too
i still think the BEST way for HTC to go with the likes of bloatware would be to just simply move it to HTC hub as optional downloads/installs rather than forcing crap on users

I agree on this, most of the HTC apps should be optional which could speed up the system. One of the main problem is get the hardware CPU/GPU support from Qualcomm optimize for ICS.
Am I the only one thinking that Sense 4 so far seems to be to cosmetic? Just like 3 was, i think they stepped it up only with 3.5

Well, we haven't really had a in depth look so we can't reall say.
Apparently they have really stepped up their game, and this is the biggest overhaul of the UI to date!

Even 3.5 Sense is incredibly slow on Desire. Why should anyone use such slow GUI?
ICS 4.0 AOSP will be better and faster solution.

I thought Sense 2.1 -> Sense 3.0 was one of the bigger overhauls - but even then most of it was minor (i.e. new lockscreen was fairly major, but 3D widgets and carousel was fairly minor)
I guess Sense 1.x -> 2.0/2.1 was fairly major too as they added HTC Sense and HTC Hub - but again one major feature to a lot of minor tweaks..
3.x to 4.x seems to be about the same, with the major update being.... ? the menu animations?

Well that tells me you not tried all sense 3.5 roms out.
Sab... 15 Runnymede rom is super fast as long you have the sd card for it class 4 and above.
I would even say this rom is faster than miui and that's saying something.

Runnymede sense 3.5 rom is fast for me too.
Just add a video link (1st post) showing the new sense look.
Tried Runnymede and lots of ROM from XDA. It looks great, but I always felt lag in it.
Then I go back to Sense 2.1+3.0 ROM. A lot faster than Runnymede. And I do no want to use Runnymede again. Class 4 SD used.
Just put 2 Desires on table, one with Runnymede and other with, let's say, Revolution ROM. And then tell me which one works fast and smooth? Also, on which ROM battery will last longer, under same conditions?
Please, be real and objective.
3.5 ROMs are slow on Desire compared to 2.1+3.0. Period.

Seen videos of the new Sense on the One X (if anyone is interested click here)
Seems theres a new Typeface, lockscreen seems the same as before with slightly tweaked functionality, the launcher at the bottom of the screen is changed to look a bit more like things like GoLauncher, LauncherPro etc.
Side swipe through menu with altered modes (like your favourites, recent etc) something I couldn't make out near the top as well, looks like market loader, a delete function (?)
They seem to have also altered the ICS recent apps thing, if I'm honest it looks a bit like Windows Vista/7 window view.
It seems a lot smoother and neater actually, but on the Desire? 3.5 is still clunky compared to Earlier Pure Sense (2.x etc)and Hybrids, so I'm guessing it'll be a long time till its useable, but I would love to see it implemented!
Before someone says anything like 'Yu havenet used 3.5 its awesomez and supa dupa fast' I have used it with a class 6 card, CoolBliss, did not like it, slow and juttery, went back to the Hybrids. My opinion, don't flame.
