[Q] Missing original HTC DESIRE ROM - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Developers and users !
I have a HTC Desire from Denmark (Scandinavia).
I have tried to install a custom Rom on the phone which was successful.
After a few months i wanted to go back to the original ROM that it had, because some of the buttons suddently stoped working (Volume down, Menu button, home button). I made a giant mistake and didnt took a backup of my original HTS Desire Rom, so I therefore found a rom on this forum and installed it on my phone.
Afterwards i have had my phone to the repair center and they found out that my phone had condensation, so it couldnt be fixed.
After some months my buttons that didnt work start working again, but now it suddently restarts by itself and sometime when it restarts, it just freezes on the HTC Desire splash screen. After some time it starts up...
Sometime i have to start it via Power button + volume down button -> fastboot -> Reboot.
I think i have a problem with my socalled "original rom" that i have installed. maybe its not the right one to this phone, and thats why I am creating this threat.
I have attached two jpg. pictures of my fastboot screen.
The first picture shows my HBOOT fastboot menu.
The second shows that the fastboot menu has a error in it, when it loads. It says "No image" or "wrong image". Therefore I am 100 % shure that the rom is wrong and not the condensation thing. I have used my phone 4 months after i had it to the repair check without the biggest issues, but now it wont restart sometimes.
I think i maby is missing the right Radio for this model.
I have searched this Forum thin for the same problem, and i couldnt find anything, therefore i am writing this.
Can anyone help me with the right original Rom for my phone model ?
Phone model:
HTC Desire
If you need any other information please write it.
I hope you guys would help m find the right ROM for my phonemodel.
Best regards
Tokay_dk

I am interested in the answer to this, too. I recently purchased an HTC Desire that seems to have the WWE_Asia ROM on it. I would like to install a rom with the Danish language that will work in Denmark because I want to give it to a friend who lives in Denmark.

HTC Bricked

Hello, Please Help
I,m an E-pat living in spain and got a new HTC Touch through my servise provider (Movistar), Of course it came with Spanish Windows Mobile, and I needed it in English, so I decided to flash it with an English-language ROM
Touch_Dual_WWE_2.01_2.20.707.1B_03.07.90 after i had sim and cid unlocked it first
Unfortunately I was not aware until it was too late that there are multiple different Touch models, and I obviously flashed an incompatible ROM . At first everything looked good, then I noticed that the phone rebooted every three minutes, and finally, having been switched off, it no longer will switch on. The orange led comes on for a few seconds, then disappears; a soft or hard reset produces the Movistar logo screen, then it switches off again.
I can put it into the bootloader tricolor screen by holding the camera button for a while; and i get the USB words appering in the bottom left of the screen, but i cannot activate activesycn to try and load a correct Rom. I have tried to load 3 elf Rom,s through the RUU without success.
Is there some way i can flash a WWE Rom or have i bricked my new phone ?
This is the origonal Rom
Rom version 2.20.621.1.esp
Radio 03.07.90
protocol 4.1.13.51
Ext 2.20.621.101
Devise 010050
Htc 304
Thanks Zomac
have you tried looking for the answer here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=374
you may have to try flashing the original spanish rom if you can find it
On an athena the phone is not bricked if you can get into the tricolor bootloader,
but to flash a lot of roms the phone must be have another SPL loaded.
if you search the forum there are usually many people who have made the same mistake as you previously.
You can also use the search button to get your answer quicker , but there is a sticky that talks about a possible solution near the top of the quoted page

My Tuoch Dual is died after a bad ROM upgrade ...please help

hi every 1 ...
here is the situation i'm in:
i tried to upgrade my HTC Touch Dual with an HTC Touch official ROM ,i prosed with the operation but it did not complete for an error then my phone was stuck on the three colors Screen after that I've reseted the phone ( hard reset ) by pressing the call ,end call ,power and reset buttons all together and here...i realized that i made a disaster because that my phone is not starting and make no response on the screen and it's totally black and when i connect it to the PC ,the indicator light led torn's red!!! and the PC dose not see it i tried to hard reset it again it didn't work.
Please help me ....
Regards.
"i tried to upgrade my HTC Touch Dual with an HTC Touch official ROM"
I'm confused. HTC Touch Dual and HTC Touch are two different devices so obviously it won't work... unless you mean you tried to upgrade your Touch Dual with a Touch Dual ROM.
I have a HTC Touch not the Touch Dual, but try putting your phone in the tri-color mode by pressing Power+Camera+Reset. Then plug your phone in and try upgrading again with the correct ROM. Your PC will not see the phone, but the ROM Update Utility should.
actually... i meant what i wrote ... i tried to upgrade an HTC Touch Dual with an HTC Touch ROM and that's what happened ... Now i did what toled me to do (pressing Power+Camera+Reset) and I've got the tri-color screen then i started the upgrade Utility but it did not see the phone then i disconnected the phone and soft restarted it by the styles and got the same old situation ( black screen and red led on connection) and the phone is not entering the tri-color mode using the same method u toled me to use and worked last time (pressing Power+Camera+Reset)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What should i do ...
please help me coz no one to ask near me and we have no HTC center here in Iraq and it look's like that i'm the only one who carry an HTC phone in the hole country!!!
Now ...here is what I've got:
thankfully managed to get back to the tri-color screen it seem's that i had a problem with USB cable ,any way ...i started the ROM upgrade utility that i downloaded from the HTC official web site that named (RUU_Nike_HTC_WWE_2.09.405.1_Radio_NikeMR_1.65.28.25_signed_Ship) at the first time i had a connection error 260 then i disconnected the phone then reconnected it the PC saw the phone and the upgrade utility did too and started to upgrade the ROM but when it reached 1% i had this error (ERROR [294] INVALID VENDER ID ) with an "Exit" button !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's some kind of a progress .. right..but what's wrong ?? Q/ is the ROM ?? A/ I downloaded it from the official web site and it's for the HTC Touch Dual...then what????
Please do not let me down ... my hops are only on ur experiences.
Regards.

A couple of questions:
1. Is your phone unlocked?
2. The official ROM you downloaded, is it from your carrier?
3. Who is your carrier?
I'm afraid I'm at my limits. If the ROM you downloaded is officially from your carrier and it failed during installation, you could try the following:
1. Unlock your phone and use a custom rom made for your carrier
2. Pray
Maybe you will get better answers by posting in the forum specific to your phone (Nike I believe). You will find some good information in that forum anyway.
EDIT: Nevermind, I see you already posted the same question in there.
Good luck.

[Q] HTC DESIRE Blocked after installed 2.2 (OTA)

Hello,
I am new and I in a problem with my HTC DESIRE.
I have a HTC DESIRE by the English operator O2 with HBOOT 0.93 and RADIO 5.09.05.30_2 I tried to install version FORYO 2.2 by WIFI, the file OTA2.2 was be download and I launched the installation. After some restart DESIRE jammed on the first screen (blue screen with the logo O2) since the tél does not ignite any more.
What is the solution for problem?????? What is that I have to install a new ROM??? What ROM and How????
Thank you very much for your help.
The same happened to me. Luckily last July I held off. This time thought they MUST have got it right. I installed like you and ended up exactly the same. I contact O2 and told them what happened and they"understood" saying they had hundreds new in stock (2.1 of course) and put one in the post overnight. Up and running now but I hadn't backedup except contacts. Problem remains....do I go with the O2 upgrade or root!
I'm using o2 branded froyo HTC desire. When I did the OTA, the phone rebooted and was on the o2 splash screen for a long time. I left at that for a long time till it completed the whole process of updating to froyo, so I would suggest you exercise patienceand don't touch anything until it completes.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I'd be more worried if my phone did ignite!!! lol!!
Joking aside, if you don't mind losing your data you can install the full 2.2 ROM from scratch (assuming you're on o2 UK). You can get the full ROM file here:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_144166_signed.exe
To install it, turn off the phone and turn it back on holding the back button. Once at the white screen with FASTBOOT in red connect the USB cable and it'll say FASTBOOT USB. Then run the file you downloaded. It should do the whole update again and hopefully, this time, work
DESIRE Problem
I tried to install a HTC ROM by Rom Manager one using (RUU_Bravo_Froy2_UK_2.14.207.1_Radio_ 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2_release_14416 6_signed) but have every hays the installation stops in 82 % with the error message 140 " files cannot be read, re-try with a complete file). I downloaded 3 files but always the same message.
Now I have DESIRE with the black screen and silver HTC and in four corners a triangle with an exclamation mark. And in the fastboot marked RUU in orange there, I have not the screen of the fastboot and recovry.
What is the solution of this problem???

HOX won't boot

Hello, i'm sorry that my first post on this forum is an question about my no longer working htc one x. I have been gathering information of this forum for a long time, and allways helped me, but this time i am really stuck. So in advance i thank you for all the help you already have given me
This is what happened
my first HOX had a defect sim reader, was declared DOA so i got a new one, so far so good
but after using the phone for about 2 weeks,
all apps started closing one at a time, untill the phone went black (it was still on, but nothing was working)
at first i tought i installed a bad app, so reset the phone to factory settings.
after i did that it worked for a few days untill the same phenomenon happened again.
this time i reset the settings via the power+volume button boot menu, and in android wiped the SD card.
again it worked for a few days,
untill it all started going haywire.
all the apps i installed the last time where whatssap and dropbox (no games and such)
now i rarely can get my phone to boot, or go into recovery.
when i connect it to my charger it has no red light.
if i get it to boot, i usually cant get past the sim unlock screen.
i have been thinking about returning it, or installing another rom (wich i have done before on my htc desire wich worked great)
problem is, i cant go into android to tick on the usb debug.
sorry for the long post, i'd be really happy if you could help me out in this one.
my htc is from the dutch vodafone provider.
cheers,
Schella

mmh i read about same problem with someone, here on xda, are your bootloader unlocked?
it seems to be a firmware problem, so you can try to install a ruu if it's available, and if it's not, you can try to ask for htc or vodafone to change it with another hox, or you can unlock bootloader and install a custom firmware, hoping that it will not give you the same problem! (unlocking bootloader MAY void all or part of your warranty)>>it depends only from htc... in some country they don't care, in some other, they will not repair it.
aha

i believe it is alowed here, but this was exactly my dilemma.. i think i'm going to return it for it is the safest option i guess. Maybe it is an hardware failure. thanks for the reply! my bootloader is locked btw

[Q] Please help :(

Ok i'll start at the beginning. i've had a HTC One X since launch i've never bothered with the Custom roms before but i had some time on my hands today and thought i would give it a go. and everything went wrong.
i downloaded a called "One X All-in-one kit v2.2" and followed the instructions. i managed to get my bootloader unlocked with out much bother and then i decided to install a custom rom. so i loaded up Clockwork Mod Recovery and downloaded CleanROM 5.1 and put it on the phones memory.
I made a mistake at this point. using the tool i flashed the kernel from the Zip file before flashed the Rom or even made a backup!!!!. Now no matter what i do my phone will turn on and just sit at the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" screen, if i turn the phone off it just turns back on and site at that screen.
i have tried re-following the steps and it is still exactly the same. Do any of you guys have any solutions to this or have i wrecked my phone?
Any help will be gratefully taken as i don't have the cash to throw down for a new phone!!
Thanks,
Matt
First of all you need to clarify which version of HTC One you have, currently you are posting on international version forum ( tegra3 ), and im pretty sure that CleanRom was made only for Snapdragon S4 version ( was it this topic ?). Also check if you are able to boot into bootloader ( power down your phone by holding power button for ~~15 sec, press power while holding volume down button ).

Just a few questions that'll help us help you:
1. If you boot into the bootloader (power and volume down when powering on) What is the first word on the second line of text?
2. On the third line it should give you the HBOOT, could you give us the version number please?
3. Lastly could you please link the ROM you have flashed.
At the moment it seems to be able to be recovered so you can stop worrying
What Rom you're flashing and what hboot you have?
Sent from my HTC One X (sorry for my English)
Thanks all for your help!! I've gotten my phone back to stock and it's now working thanks to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714) and i've made a back up so i can now start playing again without worrying. going to give cm10 a go and see if i can get that working. thanks again all
Matt
