[Q] Please help :( - HTC One X

Ok i'll start at the beginning. i've had a HTC One X since launch i've never bothered with the Custom roms before but i had some time on my hands today and thought i would give it a go. and everything went wrong.
i downloaded a called "One X All-in-one kit v2.2" and followed the instructions. i managed to get my bootloader unlocked with out much bother and then i decided to install a custom rom. so i loaded up Clockwork Mod Recovery and downloaded CleanROM 5.1 and put it on the phones memory.
I made a mistake at this point. using the tool i flashed the kernel from the Zip file before flashed the Rom or even made a backup!!!!. Now no matter what i do my phone will turn on and just sit at the "HTC Quietly Brilliant" screen, if i turn the phone off it just turns back on and site at that screen.
i have tried re-following the steps and it is still exactly the same. Do any of you guys have any solutions to this or have i wrecked my phone?
Any help will be gratefully taken as i don't have the cash to throw down for a new phone!!
Thanks,
Matt

First of all you need to clarify which version of HTC One you have, currently you are posting on international version forum ( tegra3 ), and im pretty sure that CleanRom was made only for Snapdragon S4 version ( was it this topic ?). Also check if you are able to boot into bootloader ( power down your phone by holding power button for ~~15 sec, press power while holding volume down button ).

Just a few questions that'll help us help you:
1. If you boot into the bootloader (power and volume down when powering on) What is the first word on the second line of text?
2. On the third line it should give you the HBOOT, could you give us the version number please?
3. Lastly could you please link the ROM you have flashed.
At the moment it seems to be able to be recovered so you can stop worrying

What Rom you're flashing and what hboot you have?
Sent from my HTC One X (sorry for my English)

Thanks all for your help!! I've gotten my phone back to stock and it's now working thanks to this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714) and i've made a back up so i can now start playing again without worrying. going to give cm10 a go and see if i can get that working. thanks again all

Phone is currently stuck on a screen with a picture of a phone with a red triangle with an exclamation mark.
What do i do?
You're in recovery, press vol up and power and you get a small menu where you can select to apply the clockwordmod update.zip to reset your battery stats (assuming you're rooted)
Thanks so much. I thought something went horribly wrong.
My phone wasnt rooted, so i guess i shouldnt have even tried to reset the battery stats.
Thanks for the help.

Hi,
A long time ago, I believe I updated my HTC Hero with a custom ROM.
I currently have
- 2.1-update1
- SW: 3.32.405.2
I just sold the phone and tried to bring it back to factory settings.
But I can't.
It won't re-initialize and I can't even delete my GMAIL account.
In short, I don't care which version is installed, I just want the phone to be updated with an official ROM, so that its new owner can turn it on and configure it as if it was knew.
The phone is NOT rooted.
If anyone has a hint, I will consider it my XMas present.
Thanks a lot!

Either wipe it from recovery or use a RUU http://www.shipped-roms.com/downloa...io_63.18.55.06P_6.35.15.11_release_signed.exe
Look it up, it's easy.

Mine is doing this too,
I tried rooting during the downgrade process (Because I had gingerbread) next thing that happened was when it would start up, it would take a very long time for the white htc screen to show up, and would vibrate (constantly) for 2 full minutes. the white htc screen would then show "quietly brilliant" under the logo and boot. but now it's going to the phone with red exclamation mark in a triangle. Phone is not rooted, hit power and volume up, went to update zip, told me invalid...
what's next?
*edit*
p.s. htc inspire 4g.
also before black screen w/ triangle I ran hack-ACE to put stock ruu back.
restarted again, and now it's usuable, but still does the looooong boot up.
No touch Screen Sensation
Hi forum I am in desperate need of some help. I have an HTC Sensation with a non responsive screen. There was a software update I believe on the forum that claims to resolve this problem. I want to try an upgrade or something hoping my screen issue can be resolved. My problem is how can I upgrade a stock ICS firmware without the use of the touch screen or touch buttons. Or even root the phone from the boot screen.
Second question can I load my external sd card in another Android phone like to load the software on it and then insert it into the Sensation and then linstall it from the boot screen?
Thanks for your help

Bricked? Telstra Desire, SLCD HBOOT 0.83

I just recently tried to flash the Rom DeFroST using the Clockworkmod.
I can now not boot into the Rom (I get a looping splash, the cool colourfull nexus one X animation) and if I try boot into clockworkmod, it stalls at the Telstra splash (still image). I also cannot browse any files on the SD card, I have to remove it and insert it into the adpater.
I'm really afraid I've bricked it :/ Can someone help me? I can still get into HBOOT.

your phone is not bricked.
did you root your phone first?
I have a Telstra phone and I had to flash an official WWE ROM first, then use gold card to root my phone and now I can flash any ROM.
My phone came unlocked, it was unlocked by the company from whom I ordered it from. Yes I did root it first. Atleast, I assume I did...
I used the linux version of rewvoked 3 and it completed with out errors. It has been trying to boot for approximately 13 minutes now and is still stuck on the animated nexus one splash...
It is now into its 21st minute, I somehow doubt it's going to boot

Unlocked and rooted are two different things. Is this your first flash of a custom ROM for the Desire?
Whenever you flash a ROM for the first time it does take a LONG time for it to process. I don't remember how long, can't tell you if 15 min is to long. You can always re-flash by putting the phone into recovery mode manually and using the USB method for flashing.
Yes this is my first ROM.
That's the problem, the phone stalls if I try and put the phone into recovery mode... :/ Unless that too is meant to take a very long time?
Ok, surely 1/2 an hour is beyond what it should take?

you need to start over.
did you read ALL of this before you started (not trying to insult you in anyway, just question) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189
it will tell you how to put is into recovery mode and then how to flash using USB
Yes I did, although I did end up following separate guides as my boot loader was 0.83 as opposed to 0.8 and 0.75 or whatever those guides included. Ok, start over. Sounds good... I'll try that, but you'll likely hear back from me!

My boot is .80, I am not sure if it changed when I flashed an official ROM first. I did that to get rid of all the Telstra stuff.
One thing you can try is to flash an official WWE ROM first. Then after you can go onto a custom ROM.
Ok, clockwork mod is working again, now to install thisWWE ROM, what exactly is it, where can I get it and what should I do?
Double post sorry

here is the link to official ROM for the HTC Desire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667
They may have a radio in them as well. Once you flash one make sure your desire works. Then try flashing your custom ROM. Many custom ROM's need to have the latest radio so make sure you follow the instruction for that ROM and the radio that ROM uses.

one more thing, once you get an official ROM working, go to market and download ROM manager, use it to flash a custom ROM, it might work better for you.
Ok thankyou! But to me a radio is a small transistor based device that uses variable capacitance in order to change frequencies... What is it in this case?
By the way, I thank you for your help, you've been of great assistance!
EDIT: One more thing, that's a lot of roms, which one do I want? Any? do I want signed or unsigned?
Ok I'm even more confused, they're mostly .exe's, how do I use them?
EDIT: It also says they're not rooted, does that mean I have to re-root my phone again?
Having the exact same problem as you, also a telstra phone.
Boots and gets stuck on the "X" colored animation.
If you get it going, please post here what you did

A radio is the software that works your phone, GPS and wifi portions of the device.
use the first ROM on the list. Hold the volume down key and press the power key at the same time, hold them until you enter the recover screen. it will take about 30 sec to process, use the volume down key to select clear storage follow the instructions and this should set your phone back to factory setting (using the last ROM that worked on your phone). Your phone should be working and you should be able to boot-up.
From this point you will be able to connect your phone to your PC then click on the ROM (exe file) and follow the instructions to flash the official ROM
let me know what happens.
Ok so i need a windows PC? I'm on Ubuntu.
My Windows decided to implode after an update earlier this evening. Will probably leave that to download and go to bed. I'll post here tomorrow with how I get on tomorrow morning!

[Q] Unable to boot into recovery

Hi there,
First time user with a desire on the telus network. I was referred to this site through a friend who did the froyo upgrade to his phone.
I have been working all day at figuring out how to root my phone and have had little luck getting any tutorial to work.
most recently I have use the linux version and the windows version of unrevoked and both go through the whole process and say done but leave my phone turned off and to the point that I have to pull the battery to get it on again. When I enter recovery mode and selected recovery the phone flashes the white screen with the HTC logo and then right to black. Previously in the day it would allow me to go to the black screen and allow me to flash the update files.
Can anyone help or point me in the right direction.
cheers
kieran

are you pushing the lock button in recovery mode or the optical trackpad?
Sometimes people are not intelligent enough and cant flash a phone because they dont read the details in tutorials (--->ME<---)

[Q] Can't access bootloader or recovery, black screen only

Hi guys,
I've tried searching but can't seem to find something that exactly matches my issue and I'm scared I'm gunna muck this up!
Just got a One X and unlocked, rooted and flashed android revolution 9.4.1 with CWM and all was working great.
Tonight I decided to flash a camera mod, worked well. I also flashed a beats mod, brightness mod and quick settings.
Now all I get is the phone stuck in a bootloop, no access to the bootloader via power on and vol down.
I'm new to HTC devices like this and I'm kinda new to all of this including fastboot etc
I would really appreciate some help here and if someone could point me in the right direction and help me get this sorted then a pint is on me sir.
If you could keep it simple like step by step
Really sorry if this is in the wrong forum
James
Mods are specific to the base on the ROM, sounds like you flashed an incompatible mod.
You should still be able to get into bootloader, though. Try again, then drop into recovery and reflash ARHD.
thanks for getting back to me,
Yeh i think it must be an incompatability.
Nope sorry cant access bootloader or fastboot, the phones charge has now died too.

Is it going back to displaying the white HTC screen when it bootloops? If so, keep the volume down key held before it loops and it should go into bootloader.
I'm at work now so I can't test this but I will do when I get home, thanks for the suggestion.
If this works, what do I need to do next?
PS: The phone has NO charge, any way I can charge it?
Thank you

For one if you want to update the stock OS you need the Stock recovery so . I could go through all the introductions or I can teach a man to fish.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1832891
go to the page above go to guides and read these "Disaster Recovery, Reverting to Stock"
find out your CID number by putting your phone in fastboot while connected to your computer and use WinDroid HTC One X Toolkit v3.0
I think the guide section should help you fix the problem easily

I'd like to return the phone back to its factory settings if its possible. my laptop isnt currently recognizing the phone, and the phone is in continuous loop at the htc logo unless i hold the volume down and power button, but from there i cannot do anything as it says "No OS installed"
I have absolutely no idea how to fix this, and would appreciate any help.
