i love SHP but i would recommend not hacking bada for a while until we get final release
We need to use stock FWs to report bugs

We doesn't even supposed to report bugs as we are not testers...
But I don't get it: how can it brick my phone?
You cant brick Wave !!! You cant brick Wave !!
Just if you use JTAG maybe you can brick !!
You can modified all files your wave doesnt brick with multiloader; )
Now maybe there's noob user dont know how reflash wave or forget recharge before flash and they says its samfirmware responsable, then i think samfirmware take advenced to says "we not responsable"

hahahaha
I didn't think like that and also i am not that noob
I thought that bada developers team will be sad when they see this
they feel bad when we hack and attack bada for sure
Let's give them a break so they can clear their minds and make the final release
After the final bugless release we can hack it as we like

hey stop posting your firmware i all the threads
we know that it is available for download
you can make a thread for it instead of posting it in all the thread around
is it worth flashing to 2.0?
Thanks for the warning
when we ll have viber, whatsapp, live profile? if we have them believe me this phone will be the best ever......

The only way to brick a wave is with BL isn't it ?
the flashing process must have a problem during BL only (corrupted BL, not enough battery...).
If the tel shutdowns, or quit download mode while flashing BL, it is possible it could'nt go back to download mode after that.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I always thinked it is the only way to brick a wave via multiloader...
i think the custom Bada 2.0 ROMs talking by samfirmware is the modded XPKG5 and XPKG6 which contains hacked SHP.
So dont use a custom Bada 2.0 firmwares, just use the original firmwares given by samfirmware.

yeah but that is not the warning as said by samfirmware.
If you are in custom XPKg6 now maybe if you upgrade that to the upcoming firmware updates, there's a possibility to bricked your phone after flashing

i flashef from cfw kg5 to cfw kg6 and my wave is still alive so dont worry, use cfw.
Well, SamFirmware is atleast partially right. You can Software-Brick your phone that way.
That means:
modified XPKG5 > modified XPKG6 = works
modified XPKG6 > any XPKG7 = doesn't work
What won't work is flashing with "Master Rom" active, it will result in phone only entering Upload-Mode after flash (Download-Mode of course accessible, as Bootloader is OK).
So if you flashed a modified FW, then re-flash a clean, original one - I did XPKG5 - and then flash XPKG7, this will work (I only tried original XPKG7, not a modified one).
Also I noticed that SHP "disappears" after some days since XPKG6, that means you have a modded FW, but only the features of SHB (basic). So maybe someone will have to find a better way of modding for SHP.

ITs bootfile !!!
Does that mean, flashing with XPKG6 BootFiles will fix the issue?
or reflashing with only bootfiles and boot change also fixes it

Hi,
I have made a little tool to check if there's any new firmwares on the FUS servers. No more need of starting Kies to check for new firmware!
* Automatically checks for new firmware update! (Pro only)
* Notifies the user with signal and vibration if a new firmware is released. (Pro only)
* Finds your "Product Code" and "HIDSWVER"
* Use custom or presets of "Product Code" and "HIDSWVER"
* Send the output by email
* No ads (Pro Only)
* Check multiple regions automatically (Pro Only).
* Check multiple regions on one click (Pro Only).
* If you want me to add any presets to the list, just PM me and I'll add them.
If you have any suggestion on what to improve, just let me know!
You can find me on IRC in #project-voodoo on freenode if you want to chat.
You can find it on the market:

Yes, I'm working on getting it to work, but I cant get the app to open the specified file. I get permission error. Any advice on how to read system files would help a lot! I have got SuperUser to grant root access.
Thank You for this. I must not anymore cheking new firmware with Kies or with login on Samfirmware. I was checking some product code with your apk , and i got really interesting result, but right.
Once more thanks

Is Kies picking any updates up yet?

CSC: P1000OXAJK1

Should I go through the pain of re-installing all my apps, settings and root-tweaks just for the sake of a build 9 days more recent than JK1 ?
Going from JJK1 to JJK5:
If you select only "PDA", no PIT file/repartition, no Modem, no CSC and this file the update will not delete your user applications/data/...
Only thing I needed to do after was to re-root it.
PS: But better be safe than sorry and make a backup anyway

EDIT: the system apps remained with their latest updates, but my XDA-sourced Gallery3D apk (in /system/app/) was replaced with the JK5 flash...not a big deal, I'll just overwrite it again, if the sensor bug comes back ! UPDATE: yep, Gallery sensor bug still here...app replaced !
EDIT: AdFree had to be re-activated (no big deal, just something to think about after flashing).
Upgraded from JK1 to JK5 too, without issue.

Grabbing ROMs from unknown sources, without any change-log whatsoever is a little risky...the only reason for doing it is intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to restore the system if anything fails.

I was quite worried about flashing the PDA component over my nicely-configured Android machine (which took me some time to get how I wanted it to be)...so I made a full Titanium backup just in case (apps+data), and I took notes of the few changes I made to the core system. As it turned out, the transition to JK5 was very smooth, everything that's visible on the surface remained the same...I guess the real changes are buried under the hood...god knows exactly what changed !

FYI, I've started a new thread to discuss the issue of compiled ROM versus open-source code from Samsung:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9300252#post9300252
Hi flashed this rom using GT-P1000-CSC-SERJJ2 and Moded_P1000XXJID but the language was russian i think even though english language is selected. Which phone and CSC do I use?thanks
First of all: all these app are not official. I do it myself. If there is an issue, cry here.
Hi to all,
Here is my last apps, 3 one click installer for some improved kernel.
Why an installer?
Without these app you need Odin to install these very powerful kernels on your phone. Update.zip file is not possible if you have not change your recovery partition since Froyo has been released.
So it takes time for some users, for others it's too much complicated. I don't even speak about those under Linux or Mac (Heimdall power).
With these apps, the only thing you need is a compatible phone with the kernel you choose (look at the official website project for more information, adrdress are below). You need also to be root (if it's not the case, the installer open z4root in the android market).
I have to inform you that these app are not official.
What does it mean ?
Don't annoy the authors of these kernels with your issues about my apps. Come here, and cry if you need to.
I'm not responsible for what you do. If you use these apps, you are enouth smart to realize that it can break your phone. I'll try to help you, but I can't do miracle.
If it is the case, use Heimdall and send only the kernel file (zImage) of your original firmware to your phone. This file can be found in the tar file that you use to update your phone.
By using Heimdall you shouldn't lose your files. May be it's the same thing with Odin, but I'm under Linux, so I can't test.
Because I'm not the author of these kernel, if you like it, make a donation on the official website project page to the authors.
I don't ask anything, nor donation nor a price for the app, may be pray for my exams if you want
Enjoy these incredible kernels, and thanks to the authors.
Sorry to be so late in the update, after my exam, I just move to nyc for a new job... takes time and I totally forgot my little phone. I ll try to make next updates more rapidly. I ll also try to build a more interesting project... but I need time, and that s the thing I need the more...
It s very important to apply these updates to your phone !!!!

Excellent idea for bringing these kernels to the masses, but you probably shouldn't put it on the market until some people here have tested it and confirms it doesn't kill their phone.
I'd love to test but I've already done it with Odin.
Also, is SpeedMode deliberately spelt like that, or a typo?

It could be nicer (easy for me to say)if users could choose among the different Speedmod HZ values. Not to mention K10 is already in the area.
Which HZ value your one-click speedmod is using?
Cheers...

you use redbend_ua to flash when phone is ON? this will cause corruptions if updateing a kernel wich is already lagfixed since it wont proper unmount when it reboots when its done.

i ve tested to install voodoo lagfix via redbend 4 times with lagfix enabled. It works well. But by security, i ve put a message to users to disable their lagfix before using the app. Do you have another way to install a kernel without computer ? I d be happy to try. I m trying other thingd on my side, but for the moment this way works, and i ve not better idea !

nah dont really know a better way.. maybe reboot into cwm and update.zip flash.. me atleast have used redbend so many times when phone is on so now when i try it i get corrupted after 2-3 flashes. and only thing that still works is proper shutdown of phone and then either recovery with redbend or download mode ;(
Anyone interested in a voodoo snapshot version ?

Finally !! Defy plus 2.3.6 bl7 ,DFP-188, DFP-231, DFP-2311
For now we have no script to make it on the phone without wipe but I'm very happy that it's working.
Please read this :[GUIDE] Zephyrot All-in-One Defy Beginner's guide --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1216982
Rooting Procedure
1. Wipe phone twice (2x make Wipe Data/Cache in stock recovery) [just to play safe] [to boot in stock recovery restart your phone while holding Power+Vol Down button]
2. Flash 4.5.1-134 DFP-231 CN or 4.5.1-134 DFP-231 Retail.en.EU CEE (It doesn't matter what version of this two You flash but it must be the same with version from point 4).
3. Wipe again (Data/Factory Reset)
4. Flash rooted SBF 4.5.1-134 DFP-231 CN Rooted SBF Part.1, 4.5.1-134 DFP-231 CN Rooted SBF Part.2 or
4.5.1-134 DFP-231 Retail.en.EU CEE Rooted SBF
----------------------------Source thread of flashing: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1542956---------------------------
Extract these zipped files and then flash with RSDlite,
---For RSD you first need to open your defy into bootloader, and for that while starting press Power+VOL UP.
---RUN RSDLite your device will be listed there, Browse for sbf and hit start.
---Flash Both the files and be the owner of rooted defy plus
Grab RSDlite from here :-- ~~~~~RSD Link 1~~~~~~
-- ~~~Link 2~~~
After Flashing, the first thing you should do is install 2nd init and get a custom recovery.
===>You just need to install a apk file and Bamm!! you got custom recovery.
===>To download 2nd init here is the link ~~~Link 1~~~, ~~~Link 2~~~
If you got problems with your baseband (like getting Signal frequency NIL or very Low) use BASEBAND SWITCHER
===> You have to flash a zip file through custom recovery like[CWM].
===> Link to baseband Switcher ~~~Link 1~~~, ~~~Link 2~~~
===> After Installing set baseband frequency according to your country.

I dont think so, because defy architecture only supports up to 1000Mhz which motorola has unlocked by launching defy+..
What is the diff between the flash in step 2 and step 4???
Hi Guys,
Nice post.:good: I also have a Defy plus with DFP-231 which is very hard to root with scripts(There is no scripts available to root for DP-231) and has to be flashed with a SBF file(Thank god atleast this it there to save the day).
My Question is : In the steps 2 and 4 we have to flash with some files. What is the difference between them two . Like what happens when you flash in step 2 and what happens when you flash in step 4 within the PHone.

I do not want to do something I clearly not understand.
And also I do not want those motorola installed applications to run in my phone by default. (Since I have 0 uses for tem). Motorola --- why do you make such crappy software when you can make really good hardware???????
Cheers,
Vic

I am also just a newbie like you but in these sbf files:
1st sbf will replace your default installed ROM with this new one, so that your defy+ will able to support 2nd SBF(kernal).
2nd sbf is a rooted version of 1st sbf which will make your defy rooted.
You wont even able to find the difference between these sbfs and the sbf which is already in your cell. Only the Baseband will change which you can configure it according to your location by BASEBAND SWITCHER
Let me know if i can help you more :victory:
Backup of the present ROM so that I can switch back to claim warranty.

Hi kdarknight,
Thank you very much for explaining about the two SBF files. :good:
Question 1: -- Before I can start with the procedure to root my DFP-231 asia retail, I would like to know If there is any method to backup this ROM (Factory made) and then use it when I need to claim warranty.

Question 2: -- Are these two SBF files (in steps 2 and 4 ) fixed SBF or full SBF. If I am to install full SBF then I would not be able to revert back to the factory setted SBF so a fixed SBF should give me an option to get back to the original ROM(So that I can claim warranty).

Ans 1: Sorry, Without root you cannot take a backup of your current ROM.
Ans 2: You can revert back to original non-rooted defy anytime by just flashing the unrooted sbf again. You can do a search of stock sbfs of defy+ or try in the thread i have linked here :
SBF-files Defy and Defy+ STOCK ROMS, bootloader version-sbf-matrix ===> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537
There are two threads in the dev section already covering everything. What is the need of another.?
Just making things redundant & confusing.
Moreover flashing anything won't modify bl7 kernel or make it compatible.

Very good, and thank you.
First of all, I would like to say, very nice work! I have been looking for this possibility for a really long time.
My S7 has the latest binary version 8. When I look at the screenshots, I also see a version 8.
I have two questions about this:
Is it possible to keep my own CSC or is it only possible to use XEO?
Do I flash everything via TWRP or do I also need Odin?

Thanks for your quick reply. That would be very nice of you, if you could make it suitable for me with the CSC DBT. You do not believe how much you do me a favor with this.

So I tried the DBT version. It sadly didn't boot like you said it would. Now I have flashed your version. Still it boots, I think with the Samsung logo I have to wait just 10-20 minutes as you mentioned. After that I'll see if it worked for me. But thanks never less!
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work either. It is still at the Samsung logo. Too bad. Nevertheless, thank you. I just don't understand Samsung, why they forbid you to make a downgrade....
try format data
I always format data as well, since I don't like to flash dirty.

No problem. Thanks for your time aniway.
Couldn't downgrade. Followed instructions and did it twice. First time Samsung logo with S G930 appeared and the LED was off, then repeated the steps and only SAMSUNG + LED on, but no result, stuck at it
