Just flashed latest cm7 nightly, everything seems great but the gallery app is much slower. Im guessing the stock one is modified a bit by samsung. Can anyone upload the apk ? thx

i am on stock 4.0.1, but not deodexed. if there's anyway this could still help by pulling my camera apk let me know...
If you can pull the camera apk and odex, then zip and upload, I would be eternally grateful.
unfortunately i dont have any tools to do that here at my work computer. the most i can do is copy the camera apk via root explorer and upload. if this dont then perhaps someone will come by that can shortly...
i recently update to Sense JB, im rooted and i want to use the original messaging ang email apk from JB in my SENSE ROM i copy the apks extracted from CM10 but they are not working do i need any lib or so? any clue?

Why you wouldn't use the original Sense JB message & email app ?
It is not recommanded to mix CM10 and Sense apps.
cause i dont like them, email overall, and its not CM apps, they are in deed JB ones, they should work fine, i just need to find the needed files

the apk won't simply install.. you need to push them in the system/ directory
ok im root and already put the apk on system/app folder and changed the permissions so the apk is installed but mms wont load (it crashes just before click on it) email apk runs but when i try ti configure it wont conect to servers

Have the same problem here, tooooo slow after upgrading to 4.1.2. Cleaned cache and no changes. Using QuickPic for now.
Stock gallery looks nice, performs like ****. Bloated with face tags and gps tags and buddy share and other stuff that make it fat like elephant. QuickPic is the way to go
I too dont like the new 4.1.2 gallery, its so slow, quickpic is great but the problem is within the camera when clicking the photo icon it takes you into the stock gallery, i have finally managed to get the 4.1.1 gallery (the modded full screen, no black bar version) by first removing the current stock gallery with es file explorer (need root) and then copy the 4.1.1 apk and also the LIB file, i will try and make a flashable zip today, mines working great!
It would be awesome if you can make a flashable zip, I was trying to install old gallery but gallery didn't show pictures ;/

Yea without the correct lib it wont load thumbnails or the pictures, also it FC's etc, heres the flashable zip, i havnt tested it on ODEXED roms but you may need to delete the old gallery odex file before flashing, as always do a backup before flashing, hope it works for you, let me know!

Yea this is probably why its alot faster & smoother than the 4.1.2 gallery, i far pefer this.

Heres a thread that has stock deodex and odex ROM by Fireb33. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010887. VERY HELPFUL in these situations. He seems to update it too with every OTA that we receive. I dont know if he has 4.2 but those are 4.2.1. And links should still work..

Thanks so much. I am going to try to install now. I only have to place odex file in system/app correct? I know about changing mms apk to rw r r
Alright I have no idea because these don't work and neither have any other mms apk that I have tried. I guess accidentally deleting the mms odex was a big mistake. Luckily third party mms is still working.
Never mind I got it to work. Hand cent was set as default and it was blocking the stock mms.
Anybody can reupload the mms.odex please?

Can anyone upload the folder of the Camera app (including the odex files) from OB21 in /system/priv-app for me? I'm currently using a custom ROM and I don't want to download the whole ROM just to extract the Camera app.
